FOR THOSE OF YOU ASKING ABOUT THE WIG:
I get so many questions about this wig, and people wanting to know where I got it, or how I made it, so hopefully this helps-yes it is my own work. I styled/created the wig myself. As a general rule, I pretty much always style my own wigs. (-: I do take wig commissions from time to time when my schedule allows, so if you are interested feel free to shoot me an email to get a quote: TraciHines@gmail.com.
First photo from today's photoshoot with my last costume: Merida from Brave. It's almost summer here in Argentina and I practically melted with this costume, but it was worth it. We could make another awesome phtoshoot/backstage video with Sevi and Cynthia. The video will be up this week or the other, if lucky ! The biggest challenge was finding an appropriate wig, then I dyed some parts to give it different shades of orange. I just couldn't feel myself with that wig! it's so hughe, lol.

So yeah, the dress is more functional and more like the one in the beginning of the movie I try to combine my d*sney cosplay with a realistic take as well Hope you like. This is for Princesses with a Purpose (the best organization in the world) and the photography is by my AMAZING and supre talented friend!
I made this costume, Merida's princess dress, as a secret for SDCC this year and finally got a photoshoot with it last week! My dress has ~13 hours worth of screen printing on it and countless hours of hand-gluing 3700 gems to the bottom. Even though I don’t wear a corset with it as she does in the movie, I still can’t move or breathe in the thing lol. Wig is also custom made by me (and is a continual piece of work) along with the work on my bow and painting on the sword! Probably one of my favorite costumes to date, if I wear it to ALA I’ll be making her circlet and white head piece (:
Major thanks to Robert & Jeff for the gorgeous photos!
So! Let’s talk about the Ellicott City photoshoot! This went down a week after Otakon 2012! It was at the Patapsco Female Institute right outside of Baltimore (Ellicott City to be specific, haha). This whole thing was such a dream. The location was INCREDIBLE, and I got to work with so many amazing cosplayers, and confer with so many talented photographers. HUGE props to ~koi-ishly and ~sleepycreator for organizing it. Honestly, I think that when it comes to cosplay photography, this is what I’ll be looking to do more of!

This was such a pain to make, but SO fun to wear! The wig is absolutely crazy, but I freaking love it. Going to wear this costume to Desucon 8 this year, and I'm going to be in a Disney group AND a Big Four Group. Can't wait!
