Next time you bake a cake, don't toss the trimmings into the trash. I always save them, place them in sandwich bags, they can be kept in your freezer for more than a month. I use them for cake pops and easy dessert like this one here.

For this delicious, simple, quick dessert -

Creature is inspired by fiddler crabs, spiders, scorpions, grasshoppers, monkeys, bulldogs, and more.

I find it fun to do something straight from the mind rather than working from real images.

Made from many, many watch pieces, including gears, watch plates, spring barrels, watch winding stems, watch jewels, and clips that have been soldered together with a lead free silver bearing solder. The lightbulb is a Christmas light. His spine is a watch band.

55mm front to back, 36mm wide, 25mm tall.

A Clockwork Scorpion sculpture made completely out of recycled watch parts.

More sculptures for sale can be found at [link]

The body is made from antique watch faces (dials) that have been cut, shaped, sanded and soldered together into body segments.

The tail is also made with watch dials that have been soldered onto a watch spring, then soldered from the back. Watch stems and stem knobs decorate as well as strengthen the tail. The stinger is a watch winding stem.

The pincers and pincer arms are from curved, cut, sanded, and soldered watch faces and strap springs.

The legs are made of strap springs, along with small watch stems for the feet.

There is no glue or resin to be found in the piece...everything is soldered into place with metal. This is a one of a kind work of art, never to be exactly reproduced.

Dimensions: 42mm wide by 77mm front to back 58mm tall He comes with a 3" by 4" glass dome with walnut base for display. He is extremely fragile and should be handled sparingly and very gently, and is most definitely not a toy.

More pictures of this piece may be found at: [link]

This took forever, I am never doing anything like this again. I worked on it for days.

Anyways I don't really have much to say about this. I'm not good at coming up with dialog for comics, so what there're saying probably sounds stupid.
Since Maud writes poetry I thought I would be funny if she also liked to paint, but she only paints rocks.

Also I know Pinkie would have moved out of the way of those falling objects because of her Pinkie sense, but I really wanted to draw that face in the next panel, so lets just say she was distracted and couldn't move out of the way in time.

This is Octodad!

My friend commissioned him for her boyfriend's birthday!
He's about 2 to 3-ish feet tall and his coat can be unbuttoned and removed. :D

He's made out of a combination of fleece and felt; and was machine sewn with details sewn on by hand. Pattern was designed by me. (I didn't think I'd find any octo-human patterns to use. :P)

If you've never heard of Octodad, educate yourself! It's delightfully silly game! And, it's free! Have fun! [link]

EDIT: Holy crap, guys. 23 faves in 13 hours? You spoil me. <3

I know I'm late uploading this; I carved this pumpkin on Halloween, and between that and NaNo, I've been pretty busy since.

The original idea was to do a monarch butterfly, because of the beautiful orange-and-black coloring you get in a lit jack-o-lantern. But when I went looking for reference photos, I discovered I liked the viceroy butterfly better. So that's what we have here: a lovely viceroy butterfly flying across the moon.

In terms of execution, I have mixed feelings. It's definitely pretty. But there are issues with size and symmetry, which would have been easily avoided with better planning. And the antennae, which I was going to carve, turned out to be too delicate, at least for my relatively inexperienced hands; I had to replace them with toothpicks. Still, all in all, not bad for a last-minute carving job.

Golly bob howdy. Where do I begin.

First of all I guess I'll tell you why I did this - Beauty and the Beast is one of my top three favorite Disney films, if not the favorite if my obsession with it as a child is an indication. Belle's my Disney princess (although Mulan is a strong contender for my heart) and the Beast is rad. It's about time I did a for real tribute and not just the crappy one or two drawings of Belle I've uploaded in the past.

Now...this was supposed to be done about a week ago, but after powering through the sketching and inking phase I was feeling pretty burned out. Also, work. So because I didn't want to spend too much time on it, there are flaws. Lots and lots of little flaws sticking out everywhere and driving me crazy. But I'm only going to tell you the really big ones. :3

For one thing, there's the Beast himself. He's got some major sizing issues goin' on and that's because he was supposed to be more crouched than he is. In general, I should have shrunk Belle while I was sketching and that could have cured a lot of it. His face went through some work but I'll talk about that when I post the lineart.

Another big issue is the lighting of the day scene - notice how it's not nearly as dramatic and interesting as the night scene. That's because I did the day scene first, was like, oooo subtlety~~, and then I go do the night scene, freaking out, goin' oh maaan this is gonna look bad...and then it turns out better. Whoops. Tried tweaking the day scene, took away some of the subtle...didn't work out. Related to the day scene is the crappiness of Belle's skirt; I seemed to do that part last on every stage of this. It should have been more ruffly and dynamic, but it's not for various reasons (especially because originally, this whooole thing was going to look like stained glass and I just never updated Belle's skirt).

Finally, last thing I'm gonna complain about: see that rose on the bottom? Originally, I drew and inked an entirely different rose, but because I left that last for the shading, I was like...I...can't take it anymore. Haven't slept much this week and I was just done so I cheated and copied the rose on top and warped this one. I'm so sorry, I'm a terrible artist. T_T You can see the original one on the lineart when I post it. You'll notice the spirals aren't perfect or symmetrical, and that's because I didn't cheat on those at all. Didn't even use a ruler like I should have. Hur.

So, now that I'm done whining, I'm just gonna mention that the weak background texture is just some 2D Design project from last fall that I finally put to better use. It's some cross necklace I had repeated over and over. Hurray~!

TL;DR: Lots of flaws everywhere (anatomy argh), but all in all, ya know, I'm not too ashamed of this.

A while back I came up with the idea of doing an Assassin's Creed hood... something I could attach to my jacket and wear around. In other words.... BE AN ASSASSIN!

These are made to order - $30 and it can be in whatever color you want.

And no... I do not have a pattern for this. I did this without any sort of guidance, just eyeballed and image and viola.

*july 2012 edit*
I've received some inquiries about making these for people - I have done them in the past for $40, but prices have gone up and I don't like crocheting anymore! However, I'd be willing to make one for you for $50, plus the cost of materials and shipping (probably an extra $20). Sorry it's a lot, but they take me an enormous amount of time. Even at this price, I'd only be getting approx. $5 an hour for the effort. Anyhow! Just drop me a note if you're interested and we'll work something out :-)

here's an updated version - this is how I make these now, I don't use that horrible cheap white yarn like in the first one I made ;_; ... I've made 4 or 5 now.

This is a big pumpkin! I can't quite wrap both arms around it. This is not a stencil or pre-made design... I kinda went at it haphazardly and so it's not as nice as it could be, but pumpkins are just for fun!! The design wraps around 2/3rds of the pumpkin, with wings and backspines not really shown in this photo.

Happy Halloween!

I liked this background best, but a less active background with this knife is pictured on my Facebook. It actually does show the lines of the knife better; [link]

I'll have the measurements when I get it back in the mail.

I've been working on this one on Sundays, when I've had a chance. It is the only knife I have finished for the Arkansas Knife Show in Feb. My sword, dagger, and Valkyrie have a long way to go, in terms of being ready for the show. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have them finished, because they are...just amazing.

When I am working on my orders, this right here is what gets me through the day. :D Knowing that I'll be able to work on something like this.

Here's to taking over the world. :evillaugh:
