Now with more accent colors! I added a script that allows you to chose any of the eight Solarized accent colors as your selected background color, anything from the standard blue to magenta or yellow.

This is a remix of the popular Numix theme by satya164, using the Solarized color scheme created by Ethan Shoonover.

The Gnome Shell theme is satya164's Elegance Colors theme – the presets are included as .ini files and can be installed by placing them in ~/.config/elegance-colors/presets/ (big thanks to satya164 for suggesting that solution, wouldn't have thought of that possibility myself), and then selected in the Elegance Colors settings application.

The suggested fonts for this theme are Adobe Source Sans and Adobe Source Code, which are available here:
sourceforge.net/projects/sourc… sourceforge.net/adobe/sourceco… (they are also available through the repos of quite a few distributions, e.g. Fedora and Arch).

This is my first attempt at theming, meaning there are probably quite a few things I've messed up or missed. Please don't hesitate to report  any bugs or problems here. I hope to set up a Git repository in the future, but for now I'll just upload the theme and any updates here. Gnome Shell is what I'm running myself, so that's what is getting most of my attention – if there are bugs in other DEs, please let me know and I'll do my best to fix them.

CHANGELOG

2014-07-02
- Updated theme to comply with the latest version of Numix, lots of small changes. Most notably the tabs now look like they should, and the window background in Gnome Files will now no longer change color when all tabs but one are closed.
- Updated the preview image to reflect the changes (i.e. the new tabs).

2014-06-14
- The zip file should be up to date now, apparently DA didn't play nice with the last upload for some reason.

2014-06-06
- Simplified the accent colors script as per the suggestions of jensbob
- Set the tint value of the elegance colors themes to 0
- Increased the elegance colors themes font size to 10p
- Re-added the proper names to the elegance colors theme files (don't know when those got lost, but apparently it happened and now it's fixed)
- Updated the installation instructions

2014-05-06
- Fixed the accent color script, should now work properly with the gtk2 theme as well.
- Fixed the violet accent color.

2014-05-01
- Changed a typo in the accent color script, the red should now be the actual Solarized red instead of some weird hue of magenta.

2014-04-30
- Added a bash script for changing the selected background color variable.
- Tweaked the elegance colors settings.
- Updated the description.
- Updated the preview image.

2014-04-28
- Merged with the latest Numix theme, lots of small changes.
- The blue accent colour is back, mainly for consistency reasons. That gray was to much of an eyesore in some applications, e.g. Gnome Tweak Tool.
- Updated the preview image to reflect the new look.

2014-02-22
- Added a transparent Elegance Colors preset
- Fixed the xfwm4-theme (I hope)
- Updated the preview image
- Misc. fixes

2014-01-04
- Changed the "osd_base" and "osd_foreground" colors of the light theme, thereby making Gnome Terminal light instead of dark.

2014-01-03
- Added a light version of the GTK theme
- Updated the preview image

2013-12-29
- Fixed some weird button coloring in the dark Elegance Colors preset
- Made the Elegance Colors presets more square to better fit the look of the GTK theme
- Added "#Name" information to the .ini files to make them installable as Elegance Colors presets as per the suggestion of satya164
- Added a light Elegance Colors preset (initial release, will probably need some tweaking)
- Updated installation instructions

2013-12-24
- Fixed the typo in gtk.css resulting in a "gtk-warning **: theme parsing error missing semicolon at end of color definition" error message.
- Tweaked the Gnome Shell theme settings slightly
- Removed the shadow from the Gnome Shell theme
- Removed the separate Gnome Shell Themes, seeing  as Elegance Colors does not want to export themes at the moment (it is also easier to maintain just the .ini files). If anyone wants the old file, just post a comment and i'll provide a link.
- Updated the preview image

2013-12-06
- Tweaked the dark Gnome Shell theme, highlights now much more subtle

2013-12-05
- Fixed the dark theme window manager colors, should now match the light theme
- Tweaked the Gnome Shell themes

2013-12-04:2
- Added a dark Gnome Shell theme
- Added installation instructions
- Restructured the theme folder, Gnome Shell themes are now separate from the GTK theme
- Gnome Shell themes are now named Elegance Colors Solarized and Elegance Colors Solarized Dark

2013-12-04:1
- Added proper window manager colors
- Changed the preview picture to match the updated theme

2013-12-03:2
- Added the extracted Gnome Shell theme from Elegance Colors to the theme folder

2013-12-03:1

Package contains 8 versions of gtk3,gtk2,metacity,unity,xfwm4 and openbox theme.
To install themes, extract archive to /usr/share/themes. Gtk3 theme is for 3.10 version.

Requirements for gtk3 theme is only gnome-themes-standard package.
Requirements for gtk2 theme is murrine and pixbuf engines.

Gtk3 theme has customizable color. You can setup any color you want, just open file settings.ini and change value of 'selected_bg_color'.
IMPORTANT: Theme must be in /usr/share/themes in order to work color customization.

If you use mostly gtk applications you can use Flattastic themes. If you use a lot qt application it is recommended to use Flatastic-Light themes, because Flatastic theme has text color problems with qt applications. It is unsolvable. If you have some problems with Flatastic themes and gtk apps just send a bug report here, and I will try to fix it(do not send for qt apps).

This is a GNOME Shell theme based on the look and feel of the social network website, Google+.

Google+: [link]

Icons: [link]

Wallpaper: Calm by 'elusive [link]

Font: Aller Sans

KDE4 version [link]

Instructions:

Please avoid a manual install and use the GNOME Tweak Tool, it's much easier.

You can use the gnome-shell theme extension for easier switching of themes.

GNOME Tweak Tool

Make sure you have user-theme-extension installed. Load the GNOME Tweak Tool and go to Shell Extensions and click the "Use Theme Extension" switch. Now go to "Theme" and click the Shell Theme box and locate your theme zip. Now you can select the theme in the dropdown box.

License: GPL

Compatibility: GNOME Shell 3.4

+ Icon

To use the + icon in your status menu, just copy the icon I put in the theme directory(user-available-symbolic.svg) to /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/status. Backup your old icon first. If you are using an icon theme that uses it's own symbolic icons, you'll have to replace their icon.

Update - 1.1 - 4th June 2012

- Minor border radius corrections to some parts of the theme.
- Changed close window button to a cross instead of a plus.
- Fixed focus button, should use Goggle red.
- End session now has a hover button effect for the open apps.

Details

Moka icon theme is designed with a simplistic, flat style, using simple geometry & basic colouring.

Despite being a modern theme, Moka does not use vector icons. Instead each icon has been pixel-perfectly-designed in seven sizes for the best result throughout your desktop.

Please look carefully

Why do I do this Mockup?

If you used this interface:
* We care would save space at the window is maximized (as in Windows and Mac)
* You use the buttons on the decoration of the system
* The icons used Chrome and not those of the system icon theme (Keep minimalism)
* Added Shadow (This makes it look better)
* Colors are using metacity instead of selection by the GTK (is better integrated with the rest of windows)
* The scroll bar system instead of the currently used Chrome

Elegance Colors is a highly customizable chameleon theme for Gnome Shell. It can change colors according to the current GTK theme, current wallpaper (uses imagemagick to get color) or use a user defined color.

Currently Elegance Colors supports Gnome Shell 3.6 to 3.14.

---

Installation:

Ubuntu users can install Elegance Colors from our themes PPA using the following commands,

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:satyajit-happy/themes
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-theme-elegance-colors

Fedora and OpenSUSE users can add the appropriate repo from opensuse build service - download.opensuse.org/reposito… and install the package gnome-shell-theme-elegance-colors via the distro's package manager.

Arch Linux users can install Elegance Colors from aur - aur.archlinux.org/packages/gno…

If you use another distro, you need to compile from source. This is needed for the GUI.

Don't worry, it is easy and straight forward.

You need to install the build-dependencies first (package names may vary depending on your distro),

glib2-devel gtk3-devel vala

Extract the archive, navigate to the directory and type the following commands in a terminal,

make
sudo make install

To derive color from wallpaper, you need to install ImageMagick.

Also install the User Theme Extension for Gnome Shell extensions.gnome.org/extension…

Setup:

A process runs in background which detects changes, generates the theme and reloads the theme accordingly. After installation, you must run the following command to start the background process,

elegance-colors

To set the theme, run the following commands,

gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.user-theme name 'elegance-colors'

You can launch the GUI from the menu which lets you customise various aspects of the the theme. You can also export your customized theme, import/export settings from the GMenu. Click on the title in the Gnome Shell top bar to get the GMenu.

---

Troubleshooting:

It is recommended to stop any previous instances of elegance-colors when updating to a new version. You can kill running processes of elegance-colors with the command,

killall elegance-colors

To view any error messages produced, run the process in Terminal,

elegance-colors start

To manually apply changes, run,

elegance-colors apply

If your theme fails to apply after an upgrade, it is likely that the config file doesn't include new options. To update the config file, run,

elegance-colors update

To export the theme, run,

elegance-colors export /path/to/themefile.zip

A little treat for Windows 7 users.  Hope you enjoy it.  The mod 2 is quite minimal and might be unusable for some setups but play around with it if you'd like.

My shot at a Nadia theme, made and tested in Nadia. Comes in a light and in a dark version. I'll probably do a Gnome Shell version as well when I get around to it.

Had to be done! The purpose of this theme is to make you confused about where deviantART ends and your OS begins, every element in the theme is an adaptation of a similar(ish) element on the website, for instance the modal dialogs are modelled on art submission modal dialogs and all buttons are dA buttons. Suggestions on how to make everyone more confused are very welcome!

For best effect you need to add the ttf-mscorefonts package as the deviantART website (and so the theme) relies on MS fonts Verdana and Trebuchet. If you don't have these fonts installed a fallback font will be used instead and it won't look as deviantARTy (then again, neither does the website in your browser, so maybe you won't notice).

In Ubuntu/Mint:
sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer

In fedora:
Get the excellent Fedora Utils ([link]) which includes an option to install mscorefonts.

SADLY Gnome 3.6 doesn't, like the previous versions, support extension styling within a custom theme, so all your extensions are gonna look weird. Complaints can be directed at Gnome HQ :)

Made with awesome free software:
- Geany
- Meld
- Inkscape
- Gimp

Credits:
- satya164 (favourite internet person) for crucial troubleshooting.
- lassekongo83 whose well structured and constantly updated Zukitwo theme formed the basis of this theme.
- Faenza icons by tiheum

Changelog:
Oct-12-2012: Gnome 3.6 support
Jul-13-2012: For some reason I based the app filter on the watchers list in profiles and not on the category browse tree - it now shares style with the category tree. Also improved look of focused overview icons.

Thanks for the DD :)
Theme update coming later this week!

OTHER INFO
Wall: mustberesult.deviantart.com/ar…

NOTE:
Since Gnome 3.14 you may have to use the default icon theme or an icon theme compatible with Gnome 3.14. There may be some issues with the theme if you for example use the Faenza icon theme or any other outdated theme that haven't been updated for Gnome 3.14.

This is my fourth and last painting inspired by Prometheus movie, requested by avp galaxy. The painting was done before the trailer got released and this was my vision of the ship. You can now see how close (or far) my guess was to the actual ship design from the film.
The scene shows some ancient orbital dockyards near a Space Jockey planet, this is the first encounter of the human explorers with alien technology.

Let me know any comments or critics.

All done in photoshop + wacom in couple of evenings.

Did these just for fun. Some lovely members of this community asked me to use my star brushes to create examples of textures that might be helpful. So here it is. That's what I came up with.

This is a re-render of my old, simple katana model. I plan on reworking the handle and guard in the near future, but I though I would post this version first, for comparison. The handle wrapping is absolutely terrible, but i will fix that.

thoughts, comments, tips, faves, etc are greatly appreciated!

Version 10 of my katana. Redid all the materials, tapered the blade a tad, smoothed the bottom edges of the blade, smoothed out the hilt weave, and bent the hilt slightly.

Rendered in 3D Studio Max 9 using mental ray 3.5.

Just a simple render to while away the time, I have had this running for several days off and on while I was helping my sister through some rough times.

This is the High Res Katana set from Helsing V4 from Renderosity with my own materials on them, and a few tweaks in C4D. The floor texture is from Arroway. Kanji from SS.

Now back to work on my commissioned work ;)
