Example about what you can do, all in game.
I'm sure there is a good amount of people who know what they want from a model but don't know how to do it. Everyone is a beginner once and what would be easier way to change models appearance than making a new texture or adding some nice effects to the skin? At least it's easier than modeling and some material knowledge is always required in all modeling projects.
Now, I'm not an expert at making textures or skins, I know just enough to recolor stuff, but editing materials is another thing. So, I'm going to cover some basics of material side of the models for Source, like base texture, bumpmap, alpha channel and effects like selfillu
