Seeing Mikoto Souh for the first time was like a religious experience.
Or at least that was how it felt for Misaki.
The man had been like a red flaming angel of vengeance sent from heaven, or hell, to exact justice on those who thought to cross the will of a God.
Because in that moment, his aura flared out so wide and so red but still with a control that the younger man couldn't think to dream of at the time, he was a God to Misaki.
He was powerful. He was perfect. He was everything.
So when he's offered the chance of salvation at his side in that burning hand, he gladly accepts it and the mark forever imprinted in his shoulder.
Because Misaki's feeling toward his King went far devotion. It was downright religious.
