On the Seme/Uke StereotypeWell, I've been reading around the Internet, and I thought I'd give my opinion.

I'll be open about this: I fucking hate the seme-uke idea. I hate that I can start reading a comic and immediately tell who's going to be on top. Dark, broody guy with a cigarette and dressed like an actual man? Yep, that's the bugger. The same counts for ukes: whiny little girl with surprise police truncheon in panties? There he is.
Now, don't get me wrong: I love transvestites, I really do. Drag Queens are often sassy, spunky people or people who aren't afraid to show off their feminine side. This is all fine and dandy, and I encourage it! Same for metrosexuals and David Bowie-look-alikes. However, there is a complete LEAP between that and what one reads in a typical yaoi comic.
