A young man, under the protection of a shadow, leaned against a wall of an alleyway, keeping his head down but observing a scene out of the corner of his eye. He was well dressed, with a white dress shirt, navy blue vest, black pants, a new black coat that reached below his knee and covered his body, and his father's black top hat with a red band and a red feather pinned down on the side. He was about twenty-five, and he had shoulder length blonde hair, with captivating green eyes that were half-lidded in the moonlight. My sister and I panted as we continued our hike in the woods. Trees overshadowed us in all directions, which was our only saving grace. It had to have been like 90 degrees here, so I could just imagine how hot it’d be if the trees were not actually here.
“Why are we doing this?” asked my sister insistently. “Can we go home yet? I’m tired! I’m bored!”
