You were laying on the couch in your living room watching a movie. Your head lay in Steve’s lap and while he was intensively watching the movie, you were throwing popcorn in the air and catching it with your mouth.
You had met each other during the attack on New York. You owned a little pastry shop in the middle of New York and it was the busiest time a day when a grenade went off just outside your shop. You were slammed into the counter hard and had broken several ribs. But even that couldn’t stop you from bringing everyone in your shop to safety before collapsing on the floor.
When aliens stepped into the remains of your shop you didn’t have the strength to stand on your feet. So I was having a chat with my friend, BetterFromADistance and we started talking about how and why a lot of the Marvel characters are orphans and why maybe Marvel did that. I lost my mom two years ago after I graduated Middle School, and I never knew my dad and my cousin- though she might not have meant to be so cruel, kept calling me a orphan. I suppose, to a extent I am. But I also grew up knowing orphans, though I'm soooo not saying I'm a expert or anything I just...have some insight that someone with parents might not have. Don't take any offense to it though please. So...here is my idea of why Marvel did what they did.
When your a orphan, you have to learn to grow up. You see what most of everyone else has. You learn to cherish and value what you have more so than others.
