Sprawl the beings of ancient yore.

Their precursors, expelled with hate,
Angst leaves the scions scarred.
The unspoiled children conflate,
Amongst the city of canard.
These are the envisioned and endowed,
The Simic aim to construe.
They are wise and unbowed,
To themselves they are true.
Come to them, you who are scorned.
Come, seekers of acumen,
Come to them, all forms, unadorned,
To become more than human.
To the crisis of dying life,
they make a simple solution.
To end the toil and strife,

Chapter Two
Chameleon House was located in Actual Alley, with a book repair shop on one side and the office of a sage on the other. The unique edifice looked like a narrow, three-storey building similar to a brownstone; with a side-gabled slate roof, light grey stone walls, narrow windows in weirwood frames and a densewood front door. In the middle of the door was a wrought iron chameleon head with a knocker below it.
Even in a city famous for an endless variety of architectural styles, Chameleon House was noteworthy. Not for its outward appearance but for what it was. It was in fact not a brownstone at all but a rare magica
