Thought of not putting this up but then i realized that there are still people out there who need to know who the true superhero is.

:iconjenteelability: : <quote>"Awesome...the embrace as if the girl has been lost and finally comes face to face with Jesus... her hero... the hug of this loving superhero is amazing, like a father. The use of lots of polished white reminds me of purity as also having a child being embraced. "Let the children come unto me", said Jesus. The folds and shadows in the clothes are great."</quote>

I don't own the image. I just find it cute and I got inspired.
This image belongs to, the text inside the heart was originally "love".

I just remember Jesus after seeing this and just thought of the text. He will be forever in my heart. ♥

The Artistís Prayer

Dear God
I thank you

For You have blessed me
You have chosen me
You have given me purpose

I thank You for my gift
For because of its purpose
It is as valuable as the gift of life

With the gift of song You placed in me
The world will sing of Your glory
The lost will sing of Your grace for they are saved
The sick will sing of your mercy for they are healed

Through the gift of writing with which you lead my hands
The world will read of You awesome power
They will read poems of Your never ending love
They will read stories of how You raise the dead

In the pictures and paintings that You inspire me to make
People will see how beautiful all Your creation is
They will see those thousand words which glorify Your name

Lord I thank You for my gift
This amazing talent You have placed upon me

Then I ask that Your hand lead me
Your Holy Spirit guide me
To use this gift only to your honour

I ask that You use this art of mine
To reach those who have gone astray
To let the gospel of Jesus Christ be spread through this work

Father, Spirit, Son
You are my inspiration
And my soul seeks to praise You

I give You thanks

Johan van Vuren
I believe that all our talents come from God and they have a great purpose serving Him through praising Him and spreading the gospel.

So give thanks and make sure to do His work. :)

Please if you look at this leave some sort of comment. This and my other Christian pieces (check them out too please as well as the message on my front page in my journal) are not so much about the art but the message in it. So please I would like to know what you think and especialy if this touched you in anyway.

Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll be showing up on your front porch
Waving a Bible in your face screaming "Have you heard?
Heard the Good News?"

Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll condemn you to hell for drinking that glass of wine,
Telling you to treat your body like a temple and keep it pure.
Jesus Christ drank wine, didn't he?

Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll be picketing your home, your work, your friends
Just because your beliefs don't agree with mine.
That's a little childish, right?

Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean that I devote my Sundays to God, turn off the phone,
TV and light and read my Scriptures by daylight.
I'm a college student. We call Sunday the "day of catching up."

Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean that I will spit on you because you deign to walk down the street arm-in-arm or hand-in-hand with a member of the same sex.
God created us all equal, didn't He?

Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean that I can't accept you just how you are.
One of the first lessons we learn in Church is love for each other and ourselves.
Christ died on the cross for us.  Can't we love our neighbor?

Yes, I am a Christian.
I'm not perfect, better than you or first in line to get to Heaven
(To tell you the truth I'm more like 4,476,658,578th or so).
But I love you like a friend, I believe you have merit no matter what you believe.

Yes, I am a Christian.
I might fall, lose faith and curse the Heavens whenever things don't go my way.
I'm in no way a perfect person, but I know that I am blessed.
Because, despite all my imperfections, I am loved by a perfect God.
Just something I wrote after doing research for a class. I found a website, Conservapedia, that really makes me angry because it has that elitist Christian attitude that I can't stand. And I started thinking about what kind of Christian I am, and well, this poem was born. What do you think?

The Protest the Hero Project 1 of 30

Today I devised a plan to create a new typography project. It might even turn into my thesis project. One of my quickest-rising favorite bands is Protest the Hero. Their lyrics are incredibly powerful, and that's rare for me to even acknowledge considering I usually pay very little attention to a song's words.

This band means quite a lot to me. Of their three major albums (Kezia, Fortress, and Scurrilous), each with ten songs, I have favorite bits of each. I'm planning to typographically interpret a line, phrase, or stanza from each of the 30 songs and turn it into a poster.

Tapestry is song #5 from their 2011 release, Scurrilous. Some lyrics:

Drunk as hell
Dumb as all get out
So pucker up those pretty lips of yours and
Kiss my ass and shut your mouth

Sometimes a knife right through your heart is exactly what you need
Sometimes the things that you're ashamed of make you who you're supposed to be

This design inspired a Slavic t-shirt company "His Kingdom".  With my permission they reworked this design in their own language.  They have multiple t-shirt designs and share in the goal of spreading the gospel.  Take a look:

"To love is to die so the one that you love has life." This is what Jesus did for us. God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son to die for our sins so that we could have life. It was the ultimate sacrifice and the ultimate expression of love. This also applies to other relationships, like marriage for example. You die to yourself so that your spouse can have "life". Putting the needs of others above our own. This is the example of love that Jesus Christ set for us, and is the way that we should live out all of our relationships.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1 Thessalonians 5:21

Prove all things,.... That are said by the prophets, all the doctrines which they deliver; hear them, though they have not the gift of tongues, and all desirable advantages; do not reject them on that account, and refuse to hear them, for so, many useful men may be laid aside, and the Spirit of God in them be quenched; try their gifts, and attend to their doctrines, yet do not implicitly believe everything they say, but examine them according to the word of God the test and standard of truth; search the Scriptures, whether the things they say are true or not. Not openly erroneous persons, and known heretics, are to be heard and attended on, but the ministers of the word, or such who are said to have a gift of prophesying; these should make use of it, and the church should try and judge their gift, and accordingly encourage or discourage; and also their doctrines, and if false reject them, and if true receive them.

Hold fast that which is good; honest, pleasant, profitable, and agreeable to sound doctrine, to the analogy of faith, and the Scriptures of truth, and is useful and edifying, instructive both as to principle and practice; such should be held fast, that no man take it away; and be retained, though a majority may be against it, for the multitude is not always on the side of truth; and though it may be rejected by men of learning and wealth, as Christ and his doctrines were rejected by the Scribes and Pharisees, and rulers of the people; and though it may be reproached as a novel, upstart notion, or a licentious one, since these were charges against the doctrine of Christ, and his apostles; and though it may be attended with affliction and persecution, yet none of these things should move from it, or cause to let it go.

James 2:14-26, NKJV [link]

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

There is a balance between works and faith in Christianity. While it is made clear that Christ is our only way to gain eternal life with God, Christians also seem to forget that our faith calls us to action not for our own good, but for the glory of God and for the betterment of our fellow humans; they even seem hostile to people who encourage them to do some form of good works. There are also, sadly, many Christians who are deceived into thinking that they are better than others simply because they donate more money, and then make sure that mere faith is not enough to save them.

However, Peter and Paul had strong faith in Christ and helped the early Church grow through their actions. Even today they are an inspiration! Because of their faith, their works had true meaning and potential; because of their works, they were able to grow in their faith in God and spread that wonder to others.

Faith and works go hand in hand, and both are needed to have a genuine, growing, truly loving, relationship with our Creator and to forever be with Him in Heaven.

Peace be with you. :)

Also, note that I am not saying that people who are not Christians are wasting their time volunteering and doing other charities; I mean, the people they are helping are certainly benefiting, and I love it when I see non-Christians doing God's Will. Without faith, the good works that non-believers do are in themselves good, but they are not meritorious.

Psalm 22
New Living Translation (NLT)

Psalm 22

For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune ďDoe of the Dawn.Ē

1 My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
Why are you so far away when I groan for help?
2 Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.
Every night you hear my voice, but I find no relief.

3 Yet you are holy,
enthroned on the praises of Israel.
4 Our ancestors trusted in you,
and you rescued them.
5 They cried out to you and were saved.
They trusted in you and were never disgraced.

6 But I am a worm and not a man.
I am scorned and despised by all!
7 Everyone who sees me mocks me.
They sneer and shake their heads, saying,
8 ďIs this the one who relies on the LORD?
Then let the LORD save him!
If the LORD loves him so much,
let the LORD rescue him!Ē

9 Yet you brought me safely from my motherís womb
and led me to trust you at my motherís breast.
10 I was thrust into your arms at my birth.
You have been my God from the moment I was born.

11 Do not stay so far from me,
for trouble is near,
and no one else can help me.
12 My enemies surround me like a herd of bulls;
fierce bulls of Bashan have hemmed me in!
13 Like lions they open their jaws against me,
roaring and tearing into their prey.
14 My life is poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint.
My heart is like wax,
melting within me.
15 My strength has dried up like sunbaked clay.
My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth.
You have laid me in the dust and left me for dead.
16 My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs;
an evil gang closes in on me.
They have pierced my hands and feet.
17 I can count all my bones.
My enemies stare at me and gloat.
18 They divide my garments among themselves
and throw dice[a] for my clothing.

19 O LORD, do not stay far away!
You are my strength; come quickly to my aid!
20 Save me from the sword;
spare my precious life from these dogs.
21 Snatch me from the lionís jaws
and from the horns of these wild oxen.

22 I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters.[b]
I will praise you among your assembled people.
23 Praise the LORD, all you who fear him!
Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob!
Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel!
24 For he has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy.
He has not turned his back on them,
but has listened to their cries for help.

25 I will praise you in the great assembly.
I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship you.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied.
All who seek the LORD will praise him.
Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.
27 The whole earth will acknowledge the LORD and return to him.
All the families of the nations will bow down before him.
28 For royal power belongs to the LORD.
He rules all the nations.

29 Let the rich of the earth feast and worship.
Bow before him, all who are mortal,
all whose lives will end as dust.
30 Our children will also serve him.
Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord.
31 His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born.
They will hear about everything he has done.

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

He said, Bring them hither to me.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8

His love for us never changes, because He, Himself, never changes. My personal struggles often leave me wondering if what I've done has pushed Him away, or if the problems in my life are proof that He's abandoned me for good...but every time I call out to Him, He's there; filling me with hope, and peace, and strength. And reminding me that He still loves me...and always will.

Hello You
I figured that since our group is getting bigger and bigger, I should reward us all with a little poetry... But not just any old poetry, this piece is really something special (in fact, I made it my cell phone wall paper) and it has answered many questions for me, as well as for other people that ask why I am a Christian.

"When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say. "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow."
— Maya Angelou

I really love this one. Past it around, save it in your notes, and think of this when you need a little lift. I love you all :glomp: and have a great day!

When you're alone and scared,
look out the window,
see the frost, the snow,
the falling snowflakes
and remember
I will always be there.

The man in the moon
is always watching,
protecting you.
Let his light shine down
on you to guide your way.

I love you always,
my darling little
snow angel.
I may not always be around,
but as long as I live,
I will love you.

Each and every snowflake
is made just for you,
my little snow angel.

See my wondorous works
and think of me,
your one and only
Jack Frost.

So lay your head down,
my sweet little angel
and close your eyes.
Dream peaceful, beautiful dreams
of falling snow and
swirling cold winds
blowing through your hair.

You will always be
my precious little angel.
EDIT: OMG I am shocked at all the faves and views this has gotten. I'd like to thank each and everyone who has faved and viewed it, but as I am too lazy to go around to everyones page, I'll just give my thanks here. Soooo.... Thank you all so much :iconawwwplz: I never expected this to be this popular ^^ And for those just now reading it, thanks for adding to it. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate the attention for this one. I appreciate every comment, every fave, and every view. Thanks again :D

I was going to post this later but I can't wait XD Anyways this is Jack Frost's lullaby to his daughter with my OC Miyuki Winters. I can see him holding little Yuki Frost and singing it to her, but I can't really see him coming up with it XD Speaking of coming up with it, this is my first song/lullaby I've ever written. I'm used to writing poetry, so I figured it's not much different. But if it doesn't flow well as a song, that's why XD I tried really hard though, I was even singing it as I went to see how it flowed XD I first tried to find a winter themed lullaby that was already out there but I gave up after a while when I could find anything suitable, so I didn't have much of a choice XD

I will post the fanfic later as soon as I start writing it. It's still swirling around in my head, waiting to get out XD Unfortunately I don't have time to at the moment to sit down and concentrate on it. This way though I can think of story plots still for when I am ready to.

I would go into more details about the story but I don't really want to give much more away XD So I'll leave this here and hope people like it. And if anyone has any suggestions to make it better, please tell me, I'm open to any criticism as I know this probably isn't the best ^^

Jack Frost and Rise of the Guardians belongs to Dreamworks and William Joyce Though I totally wish he did belong to me XD *shot*
Miyuki Winters, Yuki Frost and the lullaby itself belongs to me

I pick up the knife and place it against my skin.
I realize what I'm doing and put it down.
But I hurt so much.
I want the pain gone.
So I pick up the knife again.
Only to put it down again.
I do this several times.
Finally I put the knife back in the drawer and close it.
I breathe a sigh of releif.
I won this time.
But how long will it be till I lose?
Even as I was putting the knife down,
I wanted to place it against my skin and follow through with it.
I wanted to so badly.
But I know better than that.
And I'm not going to escape pain using pain.
No matter how much I want to.
Harming myself is not the answer.
It's not the answer for anyone.
This is a message for everyone who may be tempted to.

You are loved.
You are wanted.
You are perfect the way you are.
Using pain to kill pain is not the way to solve things.
Write a story, talk to a friend.
Talk to anyone.
Just don't harm your self.
And never kill yourself.
It may seem like the easy way out,
But you will have wasted your life.
No matter how hard things are for you.
It will get better.

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." †Jeremiah 29-11

When He said, "plans to prosper you," He meant that He would use you to do great and amazing things.
That He would use you in his plans.
That you would be SAVED.
When He said, "and not to harm you," He did not mean that your life would be perfect, that you would not suffer.
But that in the end He was going to get you through this, in one peice.
That you would be SAVED.
When He said, "plans to give you hope," He meant that He would always be with you and that He would never leave you to fend for yourself.
That in the end, this life is to SERVE THE LORD, and the reward will be great.
That you would be SAVED.
When He said, "and a future," He meant AFTER THIS LIFE.
That you would be SAVED.

He does indeed have plans for you. †And He loves you unconditionaly.
That is proven by the fact that He is always SAVING you.
If you don't belive anything I've said already, then take me as an example.
He's using my pain to spread His word.
He has been speaking through me as I wrote this.
And it's true. †All of it.
I can feel that God is telling me what to say.
I'm not the one saying this.
I started writting this to express my pain, and in the end it was ALL ABOUT GOD.
It's true. All of it. Every word. This is definitely one of my favorite's. Hope you guy's like it!

"Your words were found and I ate them. And Your words became a joy to me and the happiness of my heart. For I have been called by Your name, O Lord God of All."
Jeremiah 15:16

I really love this verse, I feel very identified with this Bible verse, lately I've found the Bible like a treasure to my life and it has become more important than my college (I'm not studying something easy it's chemical engineering), every day I arrive early to my school and before my homework I go to the library and I carry my Bible with me and I read it, then if I have time I do my hw, but every day the Bible has become a really important part of my life, I feel I can not have a day without reading it.

I hope all of you have the same feeling about the Bible :)

Built this by myself at Ocean Beach San Francisco. Took me five hours to build, although I did start on a pile that was already there. The concept was based on the idea of God creating Adam out of the dust of the earth. Which I found to be appropriate for a medium like sand.

It’s nice when God speaks to us, and this time He told me something really important through a song at the church today. Every once in a while a sudden sorrow comes upon me, a feeling of failure, of incompetence and of unworthiness when I realize how few I know about God, compared to how much I should know now. And the worst is that I know I’ll never know Him enough. Nevertheless, the Bible tells that the perfect praise comes out from the kid’s mouths. And kids don’t know all about God, but they know enough, they know God loves them and that’s all. No, this is not an excuse not to struggle to know God more, but may we enjoy this learning experience instead of being sorrow for it. And this is what God told me, and I hope He might speak to you as well through this cartoon.

All honour and glory belong solely to God and to Him alone.

"After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands, And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. "Revelation 7:9-10

Now there's a text that moves me. I'm a fan of different cultures and languages and such, and mostly because it makes more things to worship God! Various cultures is something of God, itís something He allows to exist so there he might be praised. It also moves me a lot because it calls us to fulfill the commandment that Jesus gave us:

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. "Mark 16:15-16

It is a great responsibility: to go out and spread the good news that the only begotten Son of God died so that we were not condemned for our sins, but we might be saved and spend eternity living in fullness beside the Creator. We are all called to be missionaries. Some preach to the street corner and the other ends of the earth. Each one with his/her mission, and we all have to ask God in order to know which is our mission.

And redoing this drawing touched me for it makes me think about the huge amount of people who do not know the good news of Jesus and go to hell because of their sins. I think Iím saved only because someone was willing to cross the sea and come to the middle of nowhere that Brazil was, to preach the Gospel here. If there werenít courageous people like that I would go to hell. So I think of the Arabs, the Chinese, the Russians, the Indians, in MY neighbors and colleagues, YOUR neighbors, colleagues and family ... People desperately in need of knowing the Gospel. Who will listen and obey the call of the Lord?

About the drawing:

5 hours drawing with pencil and + about 23 hours coloring and editing digitally = 28 hours of the greatest art work that I've done so far. God be praised!

The original I did in 2005, and the comparison between the two is here: COMING SOON!

I tried to represent people generically means that all peoples of the world. Of course not everyone is here, but a bunch of us are! I had to do a search for all references to draw them, and I had a really good time. If your people isnít here, Iím sorry, but I just canít draw everyone, hehe!

* The MEXICAN represents Latin Americans, including us, Brazilians. It was the easiest to draw, and he's a mariachi to make it clear where heís from.
* The JAPANESE girl is there to represent the people of the Far East. She is a maiko, and is wearing a yukata.
* The RUSSIAN official is both representative of Europe (and their descendants) and Central Asia. He is wearing a uniform of the Russian Army.
* The NATIVE BRAZILIAN girl e there representing the indigenous peoples of America. She wears stuff from various peoples of Brazil, and he is the only woman in the drawing that has no eyelashes because it is a habit of some peoples to pluck eyelashes for beauty purposes. Ouch!
* The MAORI warrior represents the peoples from the Pacific, as the Polynesians, Melanesians, Austronesians, Australian Aborigines and so on ... I had a lotta fun doing his tattoos!
* The INDIAN girl represents the peoples of South and Southeast Asia. The costume she wears is called "sari" and, besides being a charm, is used by various peoples of the region.
* The ZULU represents the peoples from sub-Saharan Africa. I always had trouble drawing characters of black skin, and they always end up with brown skin :P I could not make him black black, but heís is much darker than the others I did.
* The ARAB represents the peoples of the Middle East and North Africa. That was the one that took more effort to create, because Arab women nowadays do not dress very differently from Westerners. And almost all the traditional costumes are heavily related to the veil, which does not have much to do with an Arab Christian I wanted to portray. Then I got a traditional dress and put a scarf in its place.

Soli Deo Gloria!

And so the little girl pulled up a small comfy wooden chair for Him to sit.

After she made sure that He was comfortable, she sat down on the floor in front of Him and pulled out from her pocket a small notebook and a yellow box.

She poured out the box and out came rolling beautiful colored crayons.

She picked a lovely shade of green and then flipped her notebook open, filled with questions she had prepared earlier.
With an enthusiastic gaze she looked up to the Man and began to ask her first question.

“Let’s begin, shall we? What’s Your name, Sir?”, she asked politely.

With a gentle smile the Man answered,

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)
