A drop of water within a fountain as a life, can go in a large number of different ways. The trajectory of each drop varying in distance, height, duration. As does each life. From the moment it is pushed out from a pipe to the moment of stillness upon landing, a life meets many others, changing with every influence, sometimes losing a small piece of itself or gaining a bit of others. Sometimes a drop grows, but it always loses energy. However it is part of a continuing cycle, it getting pulled back into the fountain to create a new life from the old.
This image was done for a conceptual process where we were to use the idea of a red string and create a concept based on it literally or metaphorically. I based my idea loosely around the idea of the red string of fate and the cycle of life. While I had my idea of what I wanted it to represent, I also wanted it to be an image that others could apply their own interpretation to.
HDR from one RAW file, actually several RAW files because I had to make the panorama out of 6 or 7 shots. That's the final edit I guess. I'm quite happy with the outcome. In the middle you can actually not see the Carrick-a-rede ROPE BRIDGE which used to be only a rope between the coast and the small island. This was the every day route of fishermen to the small island where this picture was taken. Today you can find a modern rope bridge which is secured by hooks and bolts and stuff. Very safe now The bridge is hidden behind the last people you see on the pic.
