I liked one of the colour variations so much I decided to upload a full-size version. If you're familiar with the original you can see that I've flipped the canvas horizontally. I've also rotated the large planet so that the most luminous part faces the light source in the bottom corner. Let me know what you think.

Whenever we start new levels, we create a series of images to explore the key moments of the location. Here's a peek at a few of them from Ratchet and Clank All 4 One.

Im not going to finish this straight away, I thought I could finish between paintings, its very big 10000pixels wide, so I decided to just go rough for now.

I will change quite a bit in the weeks to come, like color correction and much more detailing, the mech I want to repaint before I finish the marines and the walls off so keep an eye on this in the weeks to come for some major improvements, any feed back is welcome, please critique this painting.

I used this as a great excuse to practice my futuristic cityscapes so studied a lot of Raphael Lacoste and Andree Wallin I really enjoyed doing this. I may do some more sci-fi cities soon

Well, first I really really want to thank you all guys for all the comments and favs you gave to my humble piece of art.. I could never expected it would happen like this and in fact I considered it unfinished, so before I could read your words I worked on it over and over, so now I'm not sure I have not broken that perfection you managed to find in the older version.. I hope you'll like this one no less..

This time I show it in bigger size (maybe a little different cropping 'cause it was not wallpaper size, but I really don't think it had any important details at sides).

I added butterflies as I imagined in about the time I first submitted it. I was not sure I would add them, that was just a thought. And after I had done it they seemed a bit disturbing to me. Maybe too messy in that space. But without them it remained some weird emptiness I could afford to my soul..

Many hours of thinking how I could place them better in the right place of the piece to save the charm they gave and not to make it too busy were exhausting.. They broke my life to pieces that evening.. Everything was falling from my hands making me mad.. All plans failed.. I was hungry and tired.. Finally the piece seemed completely disturbing to me.. And it took a lot to reach harmony again and look at it with a fresh feel.. But I managed to find beauty and make it grow..

The moment I was in love with it again I found the meaning behind it.. it was unveiled by the butterflies (that's why I'm going to leave them there).. At the first version I thought of some kind of alien queen wandering through some strange underground world where fields and meadows of glowing moss give mysterious shining to stony walls.. I considered her to go deepper and farther into some cove full of light..

After all the changes I had another vision. She was butterflies' queen.. But she had no wings, so I had to think on it more.. And finally!! I understood.. She was about to become butterfly.. One step farther to the light and it would give her wings.. So now she was not going into depth of the cove, she was going to the outside world. it was rebirth of the dark soul.. a moth that used to fly the last dance around the nightlight.. Now she's going to become a light creature to leave the world of her same old darkness full of sorrows and pain.. And all the light souls came to celebrate that moment..

Well, I hope the final meaning was not disappointing to you.. I just have to say that I couldn't really consider what it meant just after finishing the painting, as it usually happens.. Now I can see it and it's not that far from what you thought of it..

Also a little changing of color.. I'm still not completely satisfied with it, I just made it a little more contrasty and shiny.. Hope it doesn't make it much worse and leaves the main points of perfection as they were..

Hi there guys! The last mont I was invited to Polymanga 2013, in Montreux, Switzerland. Was an awesome convention with a lot of awesome people I was lucky to meet Mr. Hiroshi Nagahama (director of Mushishi, Detroit Metal City and Aku no Hana, I admire him a LOT) but also I didnt know that Giger Museum in Gruyeres was near. In the final day of the conevention, Daniel one of the guys of Polymanga staff give me a little tour in Gruyeres and Giger Museum. To me, HR Giger it was very influential my father show me Alien when I was 3 or 4 years old, he told me "you like star wars? you know, space, monsters and that kind of stuff? well, maybe you will like this" (XD THANKS OLD MAN!) so be there looking is awesome original paintings and concept art for alien 1, 2, Poltergeist 2 and Speces was a really big moment to me ... oh! and later I eat the famous Gruyeres fondue Was a perfect day!

This is a little 1 hour warm up, trying to replicate his style in an original compo/design by me I hope you like it.

The original character is part of a SF story.

The Nocturne city gets her energy from highly radioactive crystal underground. This painting shows the processing station which breaks the crystal down into usable energy before sending them up to the surface. There are altogether 12 of these stations underneath the entire Nocturne City.
