My 4th World of Warcraft Trading Card Game card. I had a hellish time trying to fit a shaman and 4 elements into the little picture frame, but it turned out a lot better than I feared in the end, and I learned a ton in the process.

This is a commission I have been working for some time for Prussian. I tried a different painting technique this time around using more texture. I also used googlesketchup (my new favorite resource) to quickly get the perspective on the pillar. The runes are from [link]

Hope you like it!

It is understanding, the thing that brushes the infinite. It is context. Intuitive and contemplative.

A Palace of Mirrors.

All things, in all forms, under all light, are given shape. Under this axiom, potentiality falls away. A Song must begin, Thunder must crash from above, the Sun must rise(All from potential.)If existence blossoms in a Palace of Mirrors, the Light cast there is called Binah.

his was recently done for the character design class with Kevin Chen and Hong Ly at Art Center.
Definitely one of my favorite classes that I took.

UPDATE:
To be clear, This is my iteration, an iteration as a video game perhaps, my take on the story Nausicaa. It's not meant to compete with Studio Ghibli's version. This not a fanart, therefore the characters may seem entirely different from the originals.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments! really appreciate it! I do read them, I apologize for not being able to reply to every one of them.

Hello everyone! I'm not dead, as you see i live and draw =D While i'm working with commissions (which you'll see on my blog soon), somehow i also managed to finish this painting what my sister once requested for her novel "King's tear". The name of character is Lavena she's skilled warrior, brave and fierce, and currently she's one of the leaders of the rebellion against Thay invaders. I can't reveal more details, because my dear Ann gladly would kill me for it. But i hope you'll enjoy this painting anyway, because girls with swords are always damn hot =)

This furious dwarf is defending the gates to the throne room. He couldn't wait to start battling and jumped over shields behind the first line of enemies. The dwarves block the first attack of their enemies with fire from the dragon forge.

A forest elf.

I've worked on this piece in bits and pieces for a few weeks, never getting much time at any one time to work on it, so I have no idea how long it took in actual hours.
Reference for the elf is from the attractive *kedralynn-stock .
No reference for anything else. I did look at some sort of embroideried rose design to get a feel for how the dragons on the cloth should look and tried to do them in sort of an old medieval style.
The background was fun. It may not show up, but there's a couple of faeries and a goblin in those woods.
This isn't a heavy or deeply meaningful piece, but it was fun to do and at least I completed something.

As usual, comments and critique are much appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to say that this looks much better in full view. (The goblin and faeries don't show up either way, or at least are really hard to see. Sorry about that.)

Yes I know this looks inspired by Assassins Creed. So don't leave comments reminding me... I have always liked the hood look, and drapery of their costume designs. Though, influenced, this is still my own design. I wanted his mask to resemble the armor in some way.

And yes... another sample page from my book!;)

Earlier this Year is was swamped with 3D work and to be honest I was sick of it and needed a change.

So I decided to start doing Daily Sketches again. Searching for inspiration I stumbled back into the Paizo Message board and found an Thread called "Artists will depict your RPG Characters/Monsters". Perfect!

So I started digging in.

Can't remember the times exactly, Each of them took something between 1 1/2 and 3 hours.

This is the first of six characters I redesign annually. I did this a ways back for a final in class, but never posted it because the final illustrations weren't as done as I liked. I am posting these leading up the the reveal of the final illustrations. This is Arvalis, the character I take my username from. His creation dates back to 2004 and has been updated and reworked ever since. He is the central protagonist to a video game pitch a few friends and I have been noodling with since high school. He is a reincarnated "god of chaos" from a small fishing village on his way to deal with the impending problem's of the world. The project is designed as a love letter to Japanese RPG's through a western design lens.

This is the character I have always liked the least and regardless of what I do with her design, I can just seemingly never hit the sweet spot that I did with the others. Though is certainly my favorite design for her so far. She is Arvalis' platonic best friend from the same small town. She is also a reincarnated "god", one of three. She uses a weapon called a hammerhawk. More character sheets to follow.
