Imperial Flame Dragons, or Imperial Flames for short, are a very rare and regal race of dragons with a long history of royalty. As their name implies they all have a keen affinity for fire and have a stronger connection to it than most other dragons but not quite as much as a Fire Born. Due to the Imperial Flame's naturally high muscle density and strength they make for excellent soldiers, fighters, and mercenaries. A few well known traits about Imperial Flames are that they are very proud, stubborn, and have a short temper but these aren't the only ones, they are also known to be quite friendly, loyal, and noble. So to befriend one means that you will have made a lifelong friend that will always be there to protect and comfort you. Another key thing to know about is that there are two very important clans that have fought with each other for hundreds of thousands of years, the Flame-Hearts and Red-Fangs.

Chapter 45: Mulling Over
It took a while, and I nearly turned the house upside down, only to find that Fenek was nowhere to be seen. I spent the next hour running up and down the block frantically searching, only to come up with nothing. Not even a scale.
In the end, after it started to get dark, it occurred to me that I wasn't quite thinking like a dragon would; more specifically, more like a creature with wings.
After smacking into the wall several times, I finally landed on one of the roofs, trying very hard not to dislodge half the roofing tiles while I was at it. Suffice to say that I was not exactly very successful.
The next few minutes were spent skittering on the rooftops, my instincts trying to make me use my foot-claws to gain a hold on the roofs, the roof tiles were not cooperating. I spent more time putting the tiles back rather than searching for the brown dragon.
it was annoying and slow, to say the least, and if anything, would have given Fenek ample wa

Chapter 44: Announcement
The declaration of peace in the town was met with shock and disbelief, as expected. However, we did not get much of a chance to speak to the populace as we were almost immediately whisked away to speak with the civilian management to plan for the future of the two towns under us. We did, however, pause to allow someone to go and make a speech to address some of the concerns on the ground.
Patrols were rostered at once and dispatched to the border, while a new guardhouse was planned to be built right at the border, where the men would stay for their week-long duty shifts. Otherwise, the military side also drew up plans for a proper army camp for the garrisons in each town, as well as training rosters, plus tabled a draft conscription law, pending approval by the civilian management.
Most of the day to day running of the city was handed over to the civilian government, while we basically became the Ministry of Defence. They planned to call out to all t

As soon as the vehicles stopped, the whole lot of them clambered out and came jogging over. Victor tossed me a bottle of water on the way, which I took and drank from gratefully. My throat must have dried out quite a bit while I was doing the memory sharing thingy...
Once done drinking, I introduced the rest to Drak'rrth, who bowed to them and introduced himself. He was even kind enough to give everyone a copy of the treaty each. He then stepped to one side to let them discuss. I got pulled in too.
Sythes, Atheros, Ren Jie and Gerard spent the lion’s share of the time discussing amongst themselves, since I had actually dealt with the most annoying bit of the treaty. In the end, I was sent back to Drak'rrth.
"The treaty's fine." I remarked...
Assuming that I was done talking, he cut in, and “This is pleasing to my ear. Shall we seal it in blood?"
I shook my head. "What's your real agenda, mage? We've gone through with this for the

In the end, I fell asleep again and missed dinner. Atheros was the one who woke me the next day. “Father, the rest of the commanders have already gathered! They’re waiting for you!”
Blinking the sleep from my eyes, I groaned, “Oh?”
“Yes! You must hurry!” Came the reply as he dragged me out of bed, and to the door, where I actually started walking properly. He passed me my cap there.
Since we were practically at Victor’s door already, I told Atheros to follow me in. As he had said, everyone was already waiting, including Fenek, who had kept a seat for me.
Victor started the moment I sat down. “Alright, we got your message, so it is decided that you’ll go and talk with the council person.”
I nodded, sipping the provided water while Victor continued, “You will go in a convoy of two rovers, with the eight dragons, the special ones, plus one driver, and another one of your choice. The

I was woken later that evening by Fyre, who led in Alys. “What is to be done with him?”
I yawned and pointed to the other sofa. “There. He sleeps there. He seems better behaved than the other idiot, so lets give him a chance, shall we?”
“I don’t think it is wise to keep him here, friend. He might slip a knife between your scales at night when we’re all asleep. It would be best if we house him under guard.” Fyre replied, obviously worried.
“Agreed. Where you put him is your discretion, up until I can have a proper cell built, but I do intend to let him walk around a bit if he plays nice.” I replied, yawning again.
Fyre nodded quickly and led Alys to the door. “Very well. I’ll have him housed in the barracks and reinforce the room with magic. By the way, your friend was here just before me. Your presence is required in your neighbour’s adobe.”
Peeling myself off the sofa,

A strong gust rolled in from the ocean, carrying with it the deep salty scent as it stirred the waters. Grey green waves rose under its influence and rushed inwards, growing and gathering power until they towered a yard high and buffeted the one who swam amongst them. Closer to the shore, they roared and leapt a final time, then tumbled and collapsed in a rush of white foam and raced up onto the pale yellow sand, dying it a darker brown. The wind had little power there, the dunes were old and well defined; it could do little as it moved over the strand but stir hairs and play with two girl’s discarded towels. Above, great grey clouds followed it, eager to be on their way further inland to spread their rain and moisture on the heads of city dwellers.
Marissa cursed them as she hugged her thin shoulders and shivered. Where was the sun? The dumb weatherman had said sun today and she had gotten ready based on his word- a low cut blue bikini top bared as much tan skin as her pride all
