An old photo from the the first Cylon War. the "Baron" was a top viper ace who became obsessed with a warrior from earth legend.

Anyways my viper is really coming along but after some test photo i realized my camera just doesn't want to photograph the main color of the viper well. after a few hours of tests and reading up on the problem it seems ill have to "shop" the colors right. i am a noob at photo manipulation so i found a neat free program called PhotoScape (i am too cheap to run out and buy real photoshop and too lazy to learn gimp) this program seems to work great and will do just what i need it to. anyways i found this setting while messing around and thought it was neat.

Sorry for being away so long. Turns out things didn't go so well in my last semester. We were supposed to work on a 3D short during 3 full semesters but the team split for various reasons. Now me and a friend of mine are gonna produce another, shorter movie, from scratch with half the time.

Wish us luck, we'll need it. For now, enjoy this little CG of Joe Mad's concept art for Strife, one of the Horsmen of the Apocalypse in the game Darksiders.

Unfortunately, Strife can only be seen in the pre-order comic, but he will certainly be there in the sequel.

Hey guys!

GO TO MY BLOG TO CHECK OUT MY LATEST 3D WORK!: [link]

Over the past 2 days I have been working fairly solid on this piece. Several months ago I remember finding it on the net and thinking it was absolutly awsome! But I dident have the skills to colour it. So while I was having a break from working on the Joe Mad! comic page the other day I came across it and ideas started rushing in my head. So I smashed it into photoshop and started working.

This is by far the best piece I have done so far and I hope you guys think so as well :)

I must thank Chris Lichtner for the ideas and inspiration for this piece. (He is the guy who origionally coloured it)

It took me about 10 hours which is surpriseingly fast now that I think about it. In Photoshop CS3.

Here is the brush I used for 98% of the painting: [link]

Lines: Joe MAD!

Colours: Nubry

Hope you guys get as much of a kick out of this one as I did :)

Pencils by Harpokrates (Jay De Foy)
Inks and Colors by the Amazing StacyRaven   Inks: fav.me/d768qro
Link the Colored Version in her Gallery.

Jay De Foy's She-Hulk and Turtle - Colors by StacyRaven

Jay's Original Pencils.  I don't know about you but I love looking at the pencils, the inks, and then the colored version to see how this all works. (I'm not an artist, I'm just a huge geek.)

I love Jay's Pencils, but I also love noticing all the elements that were added when Stacy colored this (the beach, the waves, the umbrella), and those are just the large things.

But I love the pencils, just awesome.

She Hulk Beach Pencils by Harpokrates by cerebus873

I love how Jay sets up an image. He's just fantastic.  This image is because I asked for "She-Hulk doing some action" and Jay gave me back an amazing picture of She-Hulk saving a turtle from some Sentinels:

She-Hulk It ain't easy being green by Harpokrates by cerebus873

After seeing that, and how cute that turtle is, I needed another image to show that he's OK.  So I suggested something doing that, maybe She-Hulk and the turtle sun-bathing, as it seems both would enjoy doing that.  And, behold!

I thought it was so pretty, that I wanted to see it in color too.  Since, I'd used StacyRaven before, I turned to her to do the honors.  And she just keeps getting better!

By the way, Jay's having a INSANE sale right now. You buy an full body 11x17 and get a 12x9 BUST for FREE.  I REALLY love his sense of motion, and how he frames and poses images.  He's got lots of nice things in his Gallery.  My favorite is Wonder Woman, but he's got lot's of great things in his gallery.

I have a bunch from him (not a complete list, I got lazy):

(*sigh* one of the "features" of a pro level account is that I could just put the image links right in there and they show up with thumbnails.  One of these days I need to do that for a month so I can update all my descriptions.)

And if any of those are colored, it was done by StacyRaven, who I recommend highly.  one of these days she'll accept drawing commissions and she'll take MORE of my money.  In the meantime, for your inking and coloring needs, she's really nice and reasonable.  I mean she puts up with ME. ;-)

And posting early, should have posted tomorrow. But I'll likely post tomorrow anyway.  I have enough to every other day to the end of the month -- and I'll likely get more in.  Should be more to come. ;-)

The turtle has made a return in other pictures:

Art by the amazing Elizabeth Torque :iconhioutsider-studio:   This is my commission from her.

I just adore Elizabeth Torque.  Her work is simply amazing, and she's really fun to work with too.  She can pretty much hold my bank account hostage.  If she sends me a sketch, I probably need to see it finished.

She's also been really busy lately, which I am just happy to hear.  That means that her dedication and work are paying off and people are recognizing it.   This makes me extremely happy!  Also the second artist that I've commissioned who got swamped with professional work after I commissioned them.  So, maybe I'm a good luck charm?  ^_^

As a result this took a bit before she could finish it -- but I maintain that my complete disinterest in time tables is part of the reason she accepted the commission in the first place (I was told it would take a bit when I asked for it).  There is no pressure/guilt/angst coming from me about a delay from anyone I commission.  I simply do not think about things that way, and I'm more interested in the artist being ok/getting life taken care of, than my commission being done immediately.

Because, I KNOW that eventually, I will be having a day where my eternal optimism is waning a bit.  And I'll be vegging in front of the TV, or trying to get caught up in a book to take me away and recharge a bit.  And then, I'll look at my email: delete, delete, delete, utter crap DELETE.  HOLY SHIT!!! ART!

And that's what happened here.  More often than not, when art is "delayed" (and I don't even view this as delayed), it will show up at "the perfect time".  Now, part of that is because I'm NOT hung up on time, I'm willing to accept things as they come, and be happy.  But a few times it's ABSOLUTELY true that the art will arrive at a great point.  Where I'm low, or I'm just sorta -blah-.  And it wakes me up and reminds me, to smile and be happy.  I am a "pessimistic optimist" -- though I'm trying to loose the pessimism.  As person who does crap with computers I just simply expect failure, and treat it like it's a normal path to something better.  (NOTHING works the first time in my professional world.)  And i've reframed the question of "is the glass half empty or half full?" as  I HAVE A GLASS and IT HAS WATER IN IT!".  People seem to forget that the implicit part of that question is that you HAVE SOMETHING, and you should be happy about THAT.  The level of water in the glass is a secondary issue.

So, delays in art are worrying about the level of water in the glass, when art really is getting a nice glass of cool water when you are hot and thirsty.  It feeds the soul when you need it, and bolsters it even when you don't.   And the best part is that it acts that way FOREVER.   You can just go look at it again, and I mean LOOK at it again, and that act helps drown out the stupidity that wears people down.  When done, you can then go back and look at the world, after a brief holiday from reality.  I keep AberrantKitty's She-Hulk as my desktop for that reason. Occasionally Shulkie peaks through the windows, and I smile each time.

Eh.  Oh, sorry rambling again.  But yeah, this hit at a great time for me to remember that it's Saturday and I should use it.  Now, it's sunday and I'm sharing. ;-)

And I really love this.  A bit of action.  A bit of Shulkie bursting from some clothes.  And I just love her build.  Great legs, and I love her arm, with it's nice muscle tone.  I'm really fond of some of the details like the thread along the rip in her skirt.   Entire thing makes me smile.   ^_^   I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.  Maybe someone out there will STOP and look today, and have  better day because of it like I did.

If you can't tell, I think commissioning Elizabeth Torque is "Highly Recommended".  This is my fourth work by her, and I love all of them.

Here are my other commissions from her:
