This doll started out as 16-inch Mrs. Coulter doll from the Golden Compass Series produced by Tonner & Co.

Factory facial paint was rather dismal. So I completely removed original factory paint and started with a blank canvas to accurately replicate Nicole's features. Doll was also given complete hair style make over copying one of her many hair styles from a couple of years back.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise while paying careful attention to proper scale.

Here's yet another celebrity repaint I did in late 2007. My inspiration was Madonna a she appeared at the 1991 Academy Awards where she performed the soundtrack to her then movie, "Dick Tracy".

I used a 16-inch Tonner doll called Shimmering Queen with a face mold called Shauna/Sweetheart. I thought the doll bore a resemblance to Madonna's features, so I decided to go for it.

Factory facial paint was completely removed and the doll fully repainted in the likeness of Madonna. Doll's hair style was also transformed to replicate Madonna's during said Academy Awards.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

This doll used to be a 16-inch Wonder Woman doll produced by Tonenr and Co.

I've always thought that Lynda Carter was the perfect Wonder Woman and have been an avid follower of her 1970s TV series. So this is my tribute to her.

Custom makeover includes full facial repaint as well as authentic hairstyling.

I have previously created doll repaints of Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner. However, I have always created them at very separate times and have never been physically together as a group. This time, I've decided to create a group of four of the main characters from the movie. Also, the Jack, Will and Elizabeth dolls here are somewhat different from the ones I've created in the past with regards to facial expression hair styling and overall detail. This is the first time I recreate Tia Dalma's likeness in a doll.

As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. They each underwent extensive hair styling as well. The Jack doll features a hand painted tattoo as well as hand crafted authentic hair ornaments. The design on his bandana was also handpainted. Tia Dalma and Jack were both given authentic dreadlocks. It took several weeks to complete this group due to the amount of work involved.

Clearly, one of the more interesting characters from Pirates of the Caribbean, Naomie Harris brings color to her portrayal the imprisoned soul, Tia Dalma

This is the first time I recreate Tia Dalma's likeness in a doll. I use a 16-inch Tonner doll for this recreation.

As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The doll also underwent extensive hair restyling - each dreadlock has been carefully created to match the character's. The inset photo shows the doll before customizaton.

In celebration of the upcoming Halloween season, I am very excited to present my latest custom face up - Rick Genest aka Zombie Boy. Zombie Boy rose to fame for his heavily tattooed body as a statement of art showing the human body as a decomposing corpse. He was also a featured character in Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" music video.

I use Tonner Doll Company's factory produced Zombie Boy doll. The inset photo at the bottom right shows the doll in its original factory state.

I have been very busy with other doll projects but I am very pleased to present my latest ebay offering. Diana Ross and her music has been very much a part of my growing up years and many memories of my life back in the Philippines, so creating a celebrity custom doll honoring Ms. Ross was an absolute pleasure.

At 3 years old, I first heard the tale of the Little Red Riding Hood. At 6 years old, I made my first jointed doll. At 10 years old, I promised myself that one day I’d make a beautiful Little Red Hood doll. At 30 years old, I finally made it. It took me 27 years to go full circle. I feel like I’ve touched the origin of my being.

This year Tonner company produced yet another Bella Swan doll, but this time she features a brand new sculpt. The manufacturer may have felt that the first sculpt didn't quite capture the features of Bella.

This particular repaint uses that brand new sculpt.

Full facial repaint and shading as well as extensive hair style make over to replicate the features of Kristen Stewart as Bella, particularly as she look during the birthday scene.

The inset photo on the bottom portion shows the mass produced version of the Bella as it was originally released.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Please refer to my earlier deviation of these dolls for repaint details. These dolls each received full facial custom repaint as well as complete hair restyling. Edward doll is approximately 17 1/2 inches tall, while Bella Swan doll is approx. 15 1/2 inches tall. The base dolls used were produced by Tonner Co.

This particular custom repaint is a depiction of a flashback scene from the hit series, where the story is set in the year 1864 - the year Damon was turned into a vampire.

I use Tonner Doll Company's factory produced Damon Salvatore doll. The left-hand photo shows the doll in its original factory state.

As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The doll also underwent extensive hair rework for authenticity and to match the proportions of the face.

Inspired by his huge celebrity and the enormous success of the Twilight , this custom creation replicates hot young star Robert Pattinson in doll form.

I have previously created a doll based on his character of Edward Cullen, but I thought it would be exciting to create a custom repaint of Pattinson just as himself and not as Edward.

I used a 17-inch mass produced Edward Cullen doll by Robert Tonner Doll company. As is usually the case with mass produced dolls depicting celebrities, the sculpt is spot on but the doll suffers in the facial paint department, which is as crucial a process in capturing likeness.

So, the first order of business was to completely remove factory facial painting. I then hand painted it to bring the likeness of Robert Pattinson referencing several photos of the star.

The hair underwent extensive and meticulous restyling to replicate Rob's oft disheveled style. Last, I hand painted delicate lines of hair along the hairline to soften the overall look. Sideburns were more accurately hand repainted as well.

The inset photo on the lower right hand corner shows the mass produced version of the Edward Cullen doll as it was originally released.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

These Tonner doll sculpts are not the easiest in terms of bringing out the essence of the characters/actors portrayed. But as an artist, I believe in challenging oneself in order to grow.

The dolls used are 15 1/2 inch and 17 1/2 inch Bella and Edward dolls by Robert Tonner. Full facial repaint and shading as well as extensive hair style make over to replicate the features of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, particularly as seen in the Twilight sequel, Eclipse. I wanted to specifically capture the angst filled expression of Edward from the poster.

The inset photos on the bottom show the mass produced version of the Edward Cullen and Bella Swan doll as they were originally released.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

In remembrance of my dearest departed mom's birthday (she would have been 83 today).

The canvas I used for this repaint of my mom is Ashton Drake's Gene doll (shown on bottom right) because of its subtle yet versatile mold. The doll's original factory paint was completely removed and then precision repainted to replicate my mom's features. Meticulous and careful hair styling completed the doll's look.

The inset photo of her on the bottom right was used as reference.

This celebrity doll repaint was inspired by Vivien Leigh's much acclaimed portrayal as Scarlett O'hara from the now timeless classic, "Gone With The Wind", particularly as she looked in her famous portrait in the film wearing a magnificent blue dress.

I used a 16-inch Scarlett O'hara doll here produced by Robert Tonner Doll company. I completely removed factory facial painting and hand painted it to more faithfully replicate Vivien Leigh as Scarlett from that particular scene I had to pay careful attention to have the doll's expression reflect the same expression as Scarlett from the portrait.

The doll's hair has been completely restyled.

The photo on the bottom shows the doll as it looked originally before repainting.

DEVIATION NOTES:

This doll, at 22-inches, is much larger than dolls I usually work with, so it's a bit of a challenge to tackle a different scale, not only painting-wise but the logistics of it. Anyhow, the sculpt is really quite beautiful but needed the proper paint treatment to bring Monroe to life.

Full facial repaint as reworking of hair and hair line were all essential to this transformation.

So, after a looong pause, a wild picture appears! From last summer nonetheless, since I haven't been photographing in a long while now. I mostly blame it on the dark winter and whatnot up here on this side of the hemisphere.
Anyway, my tiger elf Korgan just wanted to come show off his claws from the first time I painted them. Needs re-doing since the paint is chipped by now and I did it hastily in the first place = bad. :|
But I still love him.

I have recently created my first Princess Diana repaint and this time I'm very pleased and excited to share my second Princess Diana repaint. Her wedding has got to be one of the most iconic moments in Royal history and it is for that reason that I created this doll - again out of a Franklin Mint Princess Diana doll.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

-- acrylic paint and ultra fine brushes

Meeting my childhood idol and inspiration for learning to draw portraits - Lindsay Wagner, the original Bionic Woman

(in this photo)
Drawing Lindsay portrait in 2000, then presenting it to her for her 57th birthday in 2006 in Tampa, Florida. It was an out of body experience meeting her for the first time!

He is 17.5cm tall (not counting the fez), 11cm from hand to hand and his Sonic Screwdriver is about 3cm long

He is make from
• Acrylic Felt.
• Cotton/thread.
• Black plastic plush eyes.
• Bamboo skewer (for the Sonic Screwdriver).
• Uhu Glue.

These are a few of the reference photos that I used while making him ► [link][link][link]

While I was staying over at Panda's this week, I made this little dear out of the random bits and bobs of crafty stuff I took with me for inspiration. (I realised once I'd gotten there that I should have taken material for the commissions I owe! I could have had them finished by now!) But alas. Here's something to show for my lack of activity at least.

This is Lorelei. Siren of the sea.

She is made from highest quality, super soft minky in sky blue and ivory white. She has printed cotton fabric inside her ears and on her tail, depicting a nautical theme of anchors and stars. Her eyes are black safety eyes, rimmed with white felt and blinged up with a couple of cute little rhinestones. She's dressed up with a nautical bow on her head that is topped with a red rose, and a nautical ribbon around her neck decorated with a cute pearlescent button and an anchor charm. She also has two cute little mismatched buttons sewn onto her butt.
