Always a BeifongMore Like This
Normally Toph sleeps like a rock, but the one sound that she will hear from anywhere in the world is her daughter's voice. Jerking awake, the blind Earthbender instantly locates Lin's heartbeat, and alarm washes through her as she feels it thundering like an avalanche. Leaping to her feet, Toph tears through the house, bursting into Lin's room and half-expecting an intruder. But the only vibrations she feels belong to her daughter as the seven-year-old lets out a sob and runs to her, throwing her arms around Toph and burying her face into her shirt front. Relieved and yet still very concerned, Toph holds Lin close, reading her emotions and discovering a gut-wrenching amount of fear. "Lin? Linny, what's the matter? Talk to me, kiddo. I'm right here." She strokes Lin's hair, her rough hands exceedingly gentle.
Lin whimpers something unintelligible, and Toph cracks a smirk. "I'm already blind, kiddo. Don't make me think that I'm deaf too." Her smirk widens as Lin le

The Gaang's Reaction to LoK
So, picture this, it's a cozy July night at Nickelodeon Studios. Sokka's eating bacon, Toph's cleaning her toes, Suki and Katara are watching some Nickelodeon show about some teenagers going to some high school in Hollywood, Zuko was trying (and failing) to keep Aang under control, Haru and Teo were working on some kit Teo got for his birthday, Ty Lee was trying hard not to stare at Sokka (doing said task would get herself a glare from Suki) and Mai was in her emo corner, being emo.
Just then a commercial for "Avatar: the Legend of Korra" came on. It piqued the Gaang's interest. After it was over, they were left open mouthed and outraged.
Sokka: They're REPLACING US?! Those b-
Aang: I get a statue? AWESOME!
Suki: Oh yeah I heard about it.
Suki shrank back. She pulled out her iPhone and opened the LoK Avatar Wiki page. She read it aloud to the Gaang.
Toph: I HAVE A DAUGHTER?! WHO THE F**K IS THE FATHER?!
Katara and Aang eyed each other awkwar
Parents No one had expected to see Chief Toph Bei Fong march into the station with her handcuffed husband in tow; the officers hadn't been there when she had violently catapulted him up though her roof and out of her house. Her blind eyes had blazed with raw uncontrolled fury, yet her rage wasn't what surprised everyone (for they knew that the angrier she gets at you, the more she cares about you). No, the one detail that the officers and the rest of Republic City would never forget was that Toph was eight months pregnant when she threw him behind bars.More Like This
A week later, that man was promptly sentenced to life-in-prison by the unanimous decision of the council. Toph had made sure he's never get to see the light of day again, for no one betrayed her trust and walked away unscathed. He had been a part of a plot to assassinate Avatar Aang and tear down Republic City. Now that he was in prison, the people ha

How could it be?
How could she die?
No, it couldn't be.
All these questions and more formed in Korra's head as she analyzed the old woman's still body lying on the bed. When she came home from practicing with Mako and Bolin, this was not the news she expected see. She walked in expecting to hear Tenzin nag and/or explain to her how she was neglecting to meditate. Not see him hovered over his mother's body with red eyes and tear stains on his cheeks. It didn't make sense and Korra refused to believe the water bending legend had passed on.
"No, Tenzin you're making a mistake. She's just sleeping."
Tenzin closed his eyes. "She was Korra, she was."
"She still is!"
The 17 year old was quickly getting upset with Tenzin for acting the way he was when all Katara was doing was resting.
"Korra, calm down." Mako, who stood on the left side of her next to his brother, ordered.
Her teammates had come back to the island with her this time, upon Korra's request

The familiar cry from his brother's lips made Mako roll out of the safety of the park bench he was sleeping under and towards the distressed sound.
"Bolin!" he yelled, his head whipped from side to side as he searched for the seven year old. "Bolin! Bolin, where are you?"
He heard a startled cry followed by a splash not far ahead of him.
"Oh, God, not the river." Mako thought and headed to the water. "Hold on Bolin, I'm coming," the boy promised, already stripping his shirt off of his thin body. Thankfully the park river didn't flow very fast, so if Bolin had fallen in Mako was pretty sure that he would be able to dive in and get his brother out before Bolin swallowed too much water. That was what he told himself anyway. He was fiddling with the tie on his pants when he reached the water's edge.
"Mako!" Bolin shouted his voice high in anguish.
Mako turned to see Bolin at the water's edge a small broken tree branch in his tiny hands. Bolin dropped the stick and raced to his
