A recent commission done for www.karacterz.com. It was nice to play around with the different materials and try to push the palette to more muted colors than I usually employ. I have a looong way to go, anyway :D

his was recently done for the character design class with Kevin Chen and Hong Ly at Art Center.
Definitely one of my favorite classes that I took.

UPDATE:
To be clear, This is my iteration, an iteration as a video game perhaps, my take on the story Nausicaa. It's not meant to compete with Studio Ghibli's version. This not a fanart, therefore the characters may seem entirely different from the originals.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments! really appreciate it! I do read them, I apologize for not being able to reply to every one of them.

Hello everyone! I'm not dead, as you see i live and draw =D While i'm working with commissions (which you'll see on my blog soon), somehow i also managed to finish this painting what my sister once requested for her novel "King's tear". The name of character is Lavena she's skilled warrior, brave and fierce, and currently she's one of the leaders of the rebellion against Thay invaders. I can't reveal more details, because my dear Ann gladly would kill me for it. But i hope you'll enjoy this painting anyway, because girls with swords are always damn hot =)

Magic: The Gathering's Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
Based on the artwork by Jana Schirmer & Johannes Voss (:iconjanaschi: and :iconalgenpfleger: respectively)
Done in Adobe Photoshop CS6

Finally finished this piece! This is my first time doing a full blown background with a full blown character.

Amazing legendary creature!

I took a few liberties with the design as I wanted to try something new. I adore those Napoleonic era uniforms so I've decided to incorporate that into my artwork. My main goal was to make a variation of the design while still staying true to the essence of the original :)

The sword hilt I cannot take full credit for lol! I really wanted to somehow include Inigo Montoya's rapier in the piece XD I took one of the movie stills and used it as a base to paint over.

Luckily, I had my Selvaria figure to use as reference for her legs :D

Very happy with how this turned out! Hope I did the character justice! Thanks for viewing, guys :)

This is the last illustration that `janaschi and I worked on together. It's for Magic: The Gathering's upcoming Dark Ascension set. By the time we did this, in May of last year, things had changed, so for this one she did the drawing and I did the painting.

This is our final collaboration.

Finally get to finish this piece after soooo long, just for fun. Initial idea was that there was this bunch of space pirates, they have these helmets that is also a screen that can project 3D images to make them.. well, scarier. Imagine seeing the 3D skull projected in the dark when your spaceship is being boarded, all you can see is a glowing blue skull that can talk D: i think thats intimidating.. for me at least :P

And I kinda got realllly lazy half way through and yes those are some old parts I've used from my other paintings >.> I dont feel satisfied with this piece, it feels unfinished and i dont feeel the mood, guess thats what happens when you leave a painting for more than half a year, parts and bits feels different when i started it. Anyway, I'll leave this here for now..
