LET'S GET FOLDINGLET'S GET FOLDINGMore Like This
Many times a friend or a deviant has said to me, "oh I could never fold origami, I'm not gifted that way", but it's just not true! As part of projecteducate's Artisan Crafts week, I'm going to show you how simple it is to find and fold something gorgeous and to present it well to your internet audience.
With just a little inspiration and a bit of patience, ANY one of us could fold something absolutely lovely. So what are you waiting for?? Let's get folding!
1) BE INSPIRED
First of all, you need to figure out what you want to fold. You need inspiration from looking at gorgeous origami, from admiring nature and the world around, or maybe it'll just hit you like a random lightning bolt. We are super privileged to have many experienced and skilful origamists on dA, many who create their own models from scratch. From persona

OMG its my first journal
I really don't know where to begin
Its been 3 odd months since Bangalore Comic-con 2014 and I have had my share of WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS since then
It was like a dream come true having to FINALLY cosplay for such a big event!!
To describe the whole experience in few lines would do no justice, so pardon me as I would be writing quite a lot (its not typically me to do this).
So, all of us had been working non-stop and hyperventilating as the con day was approaching
This is the wig I spent literally 8 hours on, washing-combing-setting and it looked perfect for my second day cosplay

I'm still in the generous mood, but I'm a little too swamped with art to give any more of that away. ;A;
Sooooo, I decided since I have some spare points around that I'd hold a raffle for a one month premium membership.
I'll give you a number for each of the following things:
- Being a watcher
- Creating a new poll or journal promoting this
- Favoriting this journal
Comment below with what you've done.
Winner will be announced and prize given on Monday, January 5th.
Thanks for a great year!
How To Photograph Your CraftsThe absolute number one cause of rejection of DD suggestions for most Artisan Craft CVs is poor photography. There is nothing worse than seeing an otherwise brilliant piece ruined by a dodgy photo. But even beyond DD acceptance, if you want to people on dA to be able to appreciate your skill you need to be able to show your work off to advantage.More Like This
Sometimes I'll tell a self-suggester that I can't feature their work because of the quality of the photography and they'll inevitably reply, "Oh, I'll have to get a better camera."
Repeat after me: the tools never make the artist.
You don't need a $9000 sewing machine to stitch a dress, you don't need a $1000 stand mixer to bake a cake, and you similarly don't need a top of the range SLR to take a brilliant photograph. It's all in how you take the photo.
To help us understand photography concepts a little more, Fella is going to help us out. Say hi Fella!
