On Christian Suffering and StruggleThe alarm goes off, and you don't want to get up. Maybe it's because lying there just feels good, but maybe it's something else. Maybe you're depressed. Maybe you're anxious. Maybe the thought of starting another day is just too heavy for your mind to lift.

Your family gets on your nerves, you're looking for a way to pay your bills, you're just trying to survive. You're living the same day over and over, you're living behind a fake smile, you're living a nightmare.
Your mind is like a tornado with 10,000 thoughts rushing through it. You're fighting temptation, fear, guilt, confusion. You don't know whether to go this way or that. It's difficult dealing with the present moment, yet you find yourself worrying about tomorrow, next week, next year.
Sometimes you feel like you're in a prison that surrounds you wherever you go. Or a war zone. You're under attack from the outside and the inside. You're afraid to move and afraid to stay still. You try to close your eyes, but you still hear it.
Faith In God and His PromisesSo, after my uncle read those excerpts from the book I mentioned in my last journal, I want faith in God and His Word to be an even bigger part of my life. I feel like faith in God has been kind of like a King (the Lord) putting a roast turkey in front of a hungry beggar (me). The King says, "Eat and be full." The beggar says, "It looks good, but I don't know." So the King says, "This is the answer to your problems. Please Enjoy!" The beggar replies, "Okay, I'll take a little." So he takes a few scraps of turkey, but is still hungry. Long story short, I need to take the whole turkey!
