This is a Plasma theme based on the look of Google+ with Google colours in various elements.

Icons [link] [link]

Wallpaper [link]

GNOME-Shell version [link]

Instructions:

Extract the theme to /home/username/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/ (hidden directory)

Select the theme in System Settings>Workspace Appearance>Desktop Theme>Theme

If the theme doesn't show right for some reason, delete the cache file ~/.kde/cache (machinename)/plasma_theme_Google+.kcache and reapply the theme.

Important Notes

The theme will not look like the preview in some ways with older KDE versions due to new design options in KDE 4.10, specifically scrollbar thickness(control of this has been added for designers), add widgets panel(tasks don't theme this now, it's done in a different file, which is a good thing). It's nothing major but be aware that some things will look slightly different but nothing should be broken.

In the dark panel version, the text on tasks maybe blurry in some instances due to hard-coded shadows which change colour according to the text colour, one text colour can only be used here and has to be balanced the against light, dark parts of the theme due to theme limitations beyond my control.

Licence: GPL

Compatibility

KDE 4.10 recommended.

Font Details

Roboto Light, 8pt, Sub-pixel RGB, Hinting: slight.

Hey all,

I've been tweaking this theme. I mixed [link] by "m4xm4n" and [link] by "alecive" Both of the artist deserve all the credit. Like I said I'm just a tech guy who likes to tweak my desktop :D I don't think I'll release it as it's kinda hacked together and I'm still trying to decide a few things. Man GTK theme-ing is more tedious than gnome shell theme-ing LOL!!

Heavy Metal is here
This was an experiment I did to see how many images I could add to one gnome shell, mind you I did not add some as it looked better without an image, but it was fun experimenting with this one.
One bug (not really a bug): in the dash panel, it grows a touch with hove and selecting an icon, I could of banned that wobble but then the back image would of been super small so it was a compromise I made, if you don't like it get rid of the padding.
I will be making a metacity and gtk3 theme to go with this one.
It has been tested on LMDE with a gnome 3 shell, I will be testing it on Fedora 15 also.
Hopefully you will like it.
I will add to the gtk and metacity files in this download once completed and will let you know when it is done in the changelog.
Thank you
Sam
The wallpaper can be gotten here [link]

Changelog: I added two more sizes for the middle image in the panel, in case you want a different size, I have these set as background so it doesn't make the image go wonky.
I also added a longer pointer image, the reason for this was if you have a higher resolution then 1440 you will need a longer one to make the metal bar go all the way across, if it does not show when you add the longer one, bring it into gimpers or your favorite art program and chop off the right side of the image so the image matches you resoltion width.
Sam

Changelog: Sept 5 2011
I have the metacity complete, and used half-lefts SLAVE GTK3 which is one of the best I have seen yet, I made some minor changes to it to match the rest of the theme and will be making more later on, once I find out what changes gnome 3.2 brings, this way I have one version out before those changes take place, and the people who dont upgrade their gnome will at least have a working theme package with this one, remember the shell will be changing and so will the gtk once I see what changes happen in the upgrade coming to match the updates.
If you don't like the minor chaanges I made to half-lefts theme and perfer to use his gtk3 instead feel free to do so and here is where you can get it. [link]

This theme and the steampunk one I made will be changed once gnome 3.2 comes out.

For all fedora uses:
There seems to be an issue with the metacity file in the top tiling I did, it looks to short, this is in all themes it looks like, I don't know why it does this only in fedora or I guess any fedora based distro, but it does.
It is a quick fix though just open the metacity xml file in gedit and look for the tile images that have a height of 30 or 31 (I think there is only 4 of each (theres only 2 that do this in a set so it is eight in total) change them to 34 instead and it will look fine again.
I will fix this in the update to gnome 3.2 and add two separate folders one for debian based and one for fedora based distros.

Update 3/12/2012: nowerries [link] found out how to fix the Ubuntu Software Center colors and here are the instructions Thanks buddy ;)

Hey just read the thread and though you might like my fix for USC on dark colored themes.

"Only bug I have noticed so far is fonts unreadable in Ubunut Software Center the fix for this is to in terminal type...

sudo gedit /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/css/softwarecenter.css

.... and change the color value of @define-color super-light-aubergine to what ever color you want to define background."

What this means is say you want it black just change the @define-color super-light-aubergine to #000000 I'm looking into how I can add this css file into my themes so it will look to that instead of the one he mentions in /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/css but until then try it it does work :woohoo:

Update 2/25/2012: Just cleaned some code up :D

Update 2/24/2012: Fixed Unity Panel and GTK-2 the combobox, selected text, tabs and a few other settings ;)

Major Update 2/20/2012: Complete overhaul I used my Black Widow GTK theme but changed all the red to white/Grey. I think this one blows the old one away as I have a better understanding of GTK themes now.

This is based originally off of Adwaita but completely re-done. Once again I used the window borders from ANewStartBlood by *alecive [link] Thanks to him for making awesome borders :D. If you want to keep the original one rename it and extract this one.

This one uses the same name SO IT WILL OVERWRITE THE OLD ONE.....Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Oh yeah the gnome shell theme is something I did and am releasing it now so check it out I called it Clear-GS It's my GS Back-n-Black with the panel transparent ;)

Updated 2/07/2012:Unity panel now displays the right colors. Fixed a few highlighting here and there. Still trying to figure out firefox. If anyone has an idea let me know.

Updated 1/25/2012 v3: I fixed the problem when copying the theme to /usr/share/themes it all looks good now. I uploaded the changes :D

Updated 1/21/2010: I changed the progress bar to have more of a radius. Fixed the selected check boxes to have a grey border (so you can see where to put the check in them).

Updated 1/19/2012: Okay added the fix for evolution and changed the screenshots so you can see some kde apps with this theme oh and also I changed the icons to Steel from [link] per my friend rvc-2011 over at gnome-look [link] and changed the buttons back to grey until you hover over the close

Updated 1/18/2012: Okay I changed the the close button to grey and when you hover over it it's red now. Thanks to ~THIRSTYGNOME for the suggestion. I didn't update the screenshot cause I think you know what I'm talking about ;) One more thing if you want to keep the original red button rename back n black to something else and copy this one over. If you don't it will overwrite it.

Update 1/17/2012: I finished this black gtk theme as you can see in the screenshots it looks pretty good. I fixed the problem with the highlights by changing the highlight color to a darker grey and using straight white for the font in the highlighted area. All credit goes to original authors [link] alecive . I love the window borders he created. and to [link] m4xm4n
for this theme [link]

I learned that dark themes look cool but are a pain in the a$$ to tweak LOL!!

Hey all,

This was requested, so I thought I would mess around with straight black and this Black GTK theme is turning out pretty good so far. I have a ton still to do, but what do you guys think?

I have this theme done pretty much but I'm having a problem with the gtk-2 any app like firefox, banshee. When you click on the menu it looks fine, but the grey highlight selection you can't read the highlighted text. Anyone know how to fix this? This is probably happening to all the gtk themes I have tweaked so far. I've spent a few hours modifying things and cannot figure it out.

Feedback is much appreciated good or bad ;)

This theme was previously known has 'Ice Cream Sandwich'.

An experimentation to mimic the new theme designed by Google for Android 4.0. It includes a Gnome-Shell theme, a GTK3 theme and some Metacity borders. A simple GTK2 theme is also provided.

GTK3 theme required Unico and Adwaita engines.
GTK2 theme required Murrine and Pixbuf engines.

I suggest to remove the globalmenu (Ubuntu users only) and move the window controls to the left of the titlebar.

Licence: GPLv3

Icons: Faience
Wallpaper: Architecture (I choose this one for a better contrast in my screenshots but you should prefer the default one: link)

CHANGELOG:

1.1
* Gnome-Shell: the wide black message train is replaced by a smaller one in the right corner
* GTK3: wider buttons in toolbars
* GTK3: an ugly red background I used for debuggind (and forget) is removed
* GTK2: no more borders for scrollbars

QtCurve, color scheme, and Plasma theme.  Hex is flat, textured, and aims to be clear and easy to use.

The plasma theme is heavily based on Caledonia by Malcer: malcer.deviantart.com/art/Cale…

*It may be necessary to restart any running apps after enabling.

I recommend using FLattr icons: deviantn7k1.deviantart.com/art…

TO INSTALL

Copy plasma theme to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/
QtCurve and color schemes can be installed within System Settings

   ***ARCH USERS***

QtCurve version 1.8.18-1 has been causing problems with this theme.  It's necessary to downgrade to a previous version for this to work.

I was asked if i could release this be::shell theme so here you go. There are just few things I want to go ever beforehand.

1. I included a readme file PLEASE READ IT! LOL!!
2. Using be::shell you can't be afraid of editing styles.css and the be-shell file as that is how you customize your look. or if it doesn't exactly look like in my screenshots. I can help if need be but it's just like everything once you start editing files you'll get the hang of it. and remember to save and reload often.

Thomas (the creator of be::shell/bespin) has done an amazing job with the wiki. Please read it to help you understand the different settings and he has answered a lot of questions as well. You can find them below

Well,

I finally completed my first theme ever, there are still a few things I'd like to modify but will do in time. I called it ANewLook and it's based off of gnome-shell-theme-ANewStart by *alecive [link] (who has been a big help to me in figuring things out, thx my friend ;) If you want the wallpaper and icons you can get them from the links I have listed below. I learned a lot working on this and hope to do more in the future. Thx again to all the original authors for their creativity.

If anyone has any problems with it let me know and I will try to help if I can. I'm still learning to theme so forgive me if I don't know everything :D

Hope you like it and please leave a comment ;) thx

First off,

I want to thank all that I listed here, without their knowledge and artistic ability I would have never been inspired to tweak my desktop. It's been a long time in the making, when I started tweaking Gnome Shell I new really nothing about css. I have done some html years ago, but this was all new to me.

I've done a lot searching on the net and asking questions here (thx to all that answered them too ;) Some have asked if I could zip it up so they can download Wow!! that amazes me u want to download this?? LOL!! I am honored as I don't consider myself an artist and no where near to one. I'm not sure if I release it if it will truly work on yours as I have only done the tweaks on my system. I might release it but I want to get the okay of the original authors first. As they are the true artists

Thanks to all of them for making such beautiful themes, icons and wallpapers. I am not a css programmer just a tech guy who loves Linux and being able to tweak it for my taste. You guys Rock!

I tweaked the gnome-shell-ANewStart theme to my liking. Which by itself is awesome!!.
