Episode 3: Reviewing the Situation
The silence was palpable. With that smile still stretched across his face, the man walked up to the bar, stopped for a moment to fish some money from his pocket, then turned to Treddz. "Here's a little extra for your pains. I appreciate the service."
She swiped the cash from his hand without hesitation and made a small bow. "Pleasure doin' business with you sir!" Treddz straightened, then turned and gave Alistair a little salute. "See ya' 'round, Ali!" With that, she bounced out of the bar the same way she came in.
As soon as she was gone, the man's smile vanished, and he looked pointedly at Snow and Parker. "Now, conversation."
"I'm not in not in the mood for conversations," Parker drawled, returning the glare.
"What do you want, Artemis?" Snow shot at him, her confident tone somewhat forced. "God, of all the Gray-cloaks the Council could have sent, it had to be you."
"Missed you too, Miss Niveus." Artemis pushed his glasses up the brid

There was a small gust of wind as Parker levitated himself first back onto the roof, then down into the warehouse with the others. He had his bow slung over one shoulder and a hand over the wound on his chest, and despite the obvious pain he was in, he managed a smirk. "That's the first and last time I go dumpster diving."
Lina rolled her eyes, but was glad to see he was alright. She gestured towards the gash on her arm. "Guess I know what we're doing on our day off."
Parker snorted and nodded. "So let's get that evidence we came here for and get the hell out of here. I've had my fill of monsters for the day."
"You and me both."
Snow, meanwhile, was already on it. She pulled a Polaroid camera from her pack, but couldn't stop her hands from shaking. Try as she might, without the distraction of combat, the monstrous visage she'd seen of Alistair crept its way to the front of her mind again, making it near impossible for her to steady her hands l

Parker was so shocked, it was all he could do to utter his name. His legs felt weak, and he barely managed to keep himself steady as he sank to the ground. "I... I thought you were my friend..."
"Yeah? Well, so did I," the conman quipped back. "Up until recent events proved me wrong."
The wizard was stunned into silence, unable to cope with this sudden treason. Artemis, however, readily stepped forward, eyes narrowed and sword drawn. "You realize you're giving me ample reason to kill you now."
Alistair laughed. "So? As if you haven't been working on reasons already..."
Snow's query was so soft, it could have gone unheard, but she stared at him so desperately it was impossible not to notice. Parker might have been shocked, and Artemis angry, but she was hurt, and seeing him beside the very warlock they'd been tracking... all she could do was mutter her question again. "Why?"
The smile seemed to twitch ever so slightly, but it didn't fade as

Across the bridge and through the passageway they'd previously only glimpsed, Alistair made his way on his own. The tunnel itself was narrow, and he had to squeeze some before it opened into another large chamber, this one with a myriad of exits to chose from. With a small sigh, the conman crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. "Well," he muttered to himself. "Looks like you've chosen quite the rabbit hole to explore, Mr. Liddell. Do try not to get lost." He ran his fingers through his hair. "Though I suppose one can't really get lost when he has nowhere in particular he's going. Let's see now..."
He began counting his various options, but then stopped. The light from his flashlight was ample enough, but just outside its beam he spotted another, dimly glowing speck. Alistair clicked off his light to see it better. Once he was sure he knew where it was, he turned his light on again so he could see his way and get a closer look.
