One day H'lania was leaving the Lower Caverns when she saw Sallyn had been waylaid by T'zan. There was no one else in the immediate vicinity and he was standing very close, one hand against the cliff wall barring her escape. Sallyn was effectively pinned without being touched and looked incredibly uncomfortable.

Zuko coughed into his elbow as he walked to where he had said he would meet Toph. He reached into his pocket as the cough subsided and fingered the small box there. It had taken him six months to find the perfect one and another two to wait for it to be made the way he wanted. And it had taken all week to work up his courage to talk to Toph about it. Not that he was scared of it or Toph, but it was a huge step forward for both of them. And his sore throat and cough were only getting worse. If he didn't make his move then, he might not get another chance before Toph left for her last semester at college in five days. Another coughing fit struck him and he struggled to breathe as the fit lasted almost a minute. He took a few deep breaths after it passed and finally saw Toph walking towards him from across the street.
"You ok there, Sparky?" she asked with some genuine concern on her face.
"Yeah," Zuko gulped as he tried to take another deep breath. "Just a cough."
