*no idea for the title lol...* I began the week with funny drawings, now it's serious! This one took me several days, i love Mass Effect so i gave me the challenge to do the biggest i can do. (for moment)
I do this illustration for me, and for a contest too (on Mass Effect France's FB), if you have Facebook, can you help me please? I need your "like" on this page: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi… The votes stop at the end of this week, it's only Tuesday now, so i think the situation can change. Thank you
PS: i try to do a video "step by step" from this picture, i don't know when it will be done, my computer software is very slow...
EDIT2: This is my most popular picture since long time, i'm glad to see it, and i don't really realise how much is amazing! But... Right now, i'm upset, because people likes to tell me about it TOO MANY TIME... SERIOUSLY, GIVE ME A BREAK WITH ANDERSON, HACKETT OR ANYONE ELSE, DO YOU SEE ANY PLACE HERE?! NO! I can't believe i worked so much and receive so many comments: because it miss one or two characters... Sometime it's ok, but almost every 2 weeks?! It's just crazy.
Hereís the first pairing in a new concept series Iím doing of the Mass Effect characters in the Dragon Age universe. Had to start with my boys! Kaidanís look was influenced by Anders and his powers are probably pretty similar. I gave Shepard the blood dragon armor since it seemed most fitting for him as the lead character and is a nod to the fact that the blood dragon armor already serves as a bridge between the two titles. Next up is Jack and Miranda, Jack is going to be soooo much fun. (Sheís going to be a blood mage)
Didnít mean to take so long to finish them. Will be much quicker with the next pair. Wrex and Grunt most likely since I need to get some aliens in there.
For Miranda I basically took Morriganís look and tweaked it a bit, used her hexagon pattern from mass effect and incorporated it into the new look and added cerberus insignia. I'm imagining cerberus as a kind of rogue apostate organization that Miranda would be involved with.
And Jackís just a crazy ass elven blood mage. Wasnít really referencing any particular character for her so kinda just made her mass effect outfit more mage-like. Also I didnít distort her face like the elves in Dragon Age 2 because I preferred the way they looked in dragon age origins ( I thought Zevran looked terrible with the wide eyes in DA2).
In this mission, Commander Shepard and Garrus are dangerously trying to bake space cookies for space christmas using Rupert Gardner's old gnarly rations and supplies.
If this mission fails, they can always just (RENEGADE INTERRUPT!) blame the whole debacle on Mess Sergeant Gardner.
(+2 Renegade Points).
But if the cookies turn out really super delicious, they can (PARAGON INTERRUPT!) give Rupert the credit for the great treats!
(+2 Paragon Points).
Photoshop, 8 hours
My 2nd favorite thing about this image is when I look at it, I can almost hear the thick rumbling and occasional bleeping sounds of the Normandy in the background. The faint chatter of the crew enjoying a break back there.
My favorite thing is that I really can imagine Garrus and Shepard hanging out together in some down-time, to cook. Bantering back and forth as friends do. Shepard teasing Garrus about quadruple-checking the calibrations on the oven, and Garrus coming right back and telling Shepard not to outright kill that dough and batter; to leave some for him.
So.. i had a terrible ending in mass Effect 3( as if there was a happy ending) and i decided to make my own with blackjack and hookers. Yes it's cliche and seems boring for some people, but i made this just for fun and not to offend someone who likes the ending.
About that watermelon The food of humans, asari, or salarians (who evolved in levo-amino acid-based biospheres), will at best pass through turian systems without providing any nutrition. from wiki, so i hope he's okay. All characters are belong to bioware, i own nothing
Here's another Mass Effect fan-art, of Jack this time, that i've done for 's Marauder Shields comic. I have been welcomed into his team, and i am glad to be able to help from time to time with some illustrations. This image will be used in the future for something hopefully exciting. We'll have to wait and see. : D
Initially I made Liara looking tormented and despair, but I figured it would be more tragic to make her looking optimistic for the return of Shepard. I figured giving her 'neutral' expression to create a sense of obscurity in the way viewer's have to guess what she may feel.
Remember stories of pets eagerly awaits for their owner despite the owners had perished? Be it a pet dog in the recent Japan tsunami where it waits at the same spot for days for the return of the owner, or other stories like they await next to their owner's grave hoping to play fetch again, etc. etc.
What makes it more depressing when Liara does this? She is a logical and intellectual individual who follows reasoning, facts and truth - rendered her beyond of logical thoughts to the point she awaits for Shepard and throw all possibilities that Shepard is no more should project a striking imagery.
ARTISTIC POINTERS: The SR-1 Normandy ship model next to Liara is a symbolical representative of Shepard. I utilized distorted perspective, hence you can see the floor and ceiling in the field of view. I tried to create contrast in colors that conveys a pretty much dead Normandy all dark and dim and a vibrant alien atmosphere outside. instead of rewinding to past events, I try to squeeze forward in Mass Effect, thus this little epilogue, which seems like the most 'updated' possible event.
Yes, I know it was just one trailer and no actual gameplay, but I'm so excited to see what Bioware does with the new Mass Effect And that means early Mass Effect: Andromeda fanart from me ^_^ Hope you'll like the picture and no using it without my permission.
Yes, I'm very slow gamer. I just finished my first ME3 playthrough, when others replayed it countless times I was impressed by the moment when Shep says her goodbye to Garrus...my face was like -> And after final titles I took my pen and started to draw this picture. I highly recommend to listen this song -> [link] I've been listening this during all the painting process And i think this composition suits ME theme, even it's not official game OST.
Based off the observation that a Paragon Shep (such as my Bart) is basically like a Bizarro World Saren or something - have allies willing to go to bat for them in the Rachni, Krogan, and Geth, at least partially cybernetic, probably technically count as a "rogue" Spectre now or probably will soon, etc., like Saren, but with mercy and kindness! And hugs! And etc. But I can see anyone outside of the situation or even the Shep themselves realizing the parallels and going "OH FUCK" for varying reasons, so I dunno.
Long story short, image idea basically probably something that haunts Bart's dreams, the idea that she might go off the deep end and really start being like Saren.
...Also I just like some of the original concepts for Saren and wanted to draw Bart in them, loosely connecting back to the parallel thing. idk. anyway!
=END OF SPOILERS=
Considering going for a sort of skewed perspective shot from above sort of thing instead. *considers* anyway.
(Garrus Vakarian and my custom build female Shepard from the game Mass Effect 2, for those of you coming in who don't know the source.)
Colonist, sole survivor, vanguard, full paragon... (All on PC - I haven't dusted off the 360 in months.) After not having played the first game when it came out, when ME2 came out, I played both back to back for about 70 hours of great times. I think my proudest moment was bum rushing Harbinger. It was a thing of beauty.
As much as I love femShep/Garrus, I have every intention of producing some Shepard/Tali in the future. And Mordin, Wrex, Legion, Liara... Also, Joker/Kelly. Really, there's very little I'm not inspired by with this series.
And yes, I have seen the single piece of concept art of a nude turian. Until we see one in the game, I'm going with it being just that - a concept. Why the smooth collar ring when everything else we see is scale or segment-like? I'll have to upload my own idea at some point.
Ok, so strangely enough this wasn't one of the several I've already started. I don't know why I thought this should come before some of the... err... more intense stuff I've already started.
Charcoal... wanted to bring out the contrast, but of course, some of the detail is gone. And uhhh it's so warm, everything feels damp and I just couldn't keep drawing - hence the loss of detail in some areas. I may go back and fix it some other time.
Haven't been drawing for a few years, so you'll have to forgive some of the laziness in spots... will get better, promise.
