Another hike up Kinder Scout. This was an iPhone snap, edited in Photoshop. That phone has a stupidly good camera.

More to come!

Beautiful Sand Lake.
This is from the summertime and I'm only just uploading it now... how silly of me! >.<
If you are wondering about the blur, it's a "miniature" effect, only the bird is supposed to be in focus.

Guardians and Custodians

May has seen rain, born tears and hope embraced,
Trundling darkest hours in someone's need,
Travelling somewhere in mourning Sun displaced,
Deferent Autumn murk cedes time agreed.

Winter won through Spring stretches-out see,
Imaginative, aromatic way,
The deeper, stronger guardian of me,
Custodians! we jointly wish to purvey.

Put land on heart harvest Faith in Nature,
Listen, choral breeze golden treble joy,
Her ternary exemplar and saviour,
In free-flow rising nothing can destroy.

Upward reach through mist's breach find hopeful dawn,
Losing spite as clearance comes into sight,
Transfixed by visionary archetype drawn,
We're sworn-in equally with joint delight.

Nurture a chance where hope can lance past ill,
Those still siphoning fills thaw and begone,
So long! layeth arms battles won with will,
Alone no more, Faith caught-on greeting dawn!

"'Is there no way,' said I, 'of escaping Charybdis, and at the same time keeping Scylla off when she is trying to harm my men?'

"'You dare-devil,' replied the goddess, you are always wanting to fight somebody or something; you will not let yourself be beaten even by the immortals. For Scylla is not mortal; moreover she is savage, extreme, rude, cruel and invincible. There is no help for it; your best chance will be to get by her as fast as ever you can..."

- The Odyssey

This is on of the most complex shots I have done. It is a composite of 5 horizontal images shot at two different times. I shot the first set of five after sunset to capture some light in the FG. For each of those exposures I had to add 20% to each following exposure time to keep the exposure value the same. Then, I shot each of the pano slices again 45 minutes later to get the sky. Again, I had to increase each consecutive exposure, this time by only 10%, to achieve the same exposure value through out each slice. Then I combined each exposure slice - foreground with sky. Lastly I put each of the five blended shots together into a complete pano. Finished it off with some levels and selective color adjustments.

After all that, I hope it works for people. It was a huge undertaking and it was very difficult to accurately pre-visualize the finished piece so some of the elements might not be perfectly placed.

p.s. Just for clarity, the color on the clouds is the setting new moon. That is why there is so much color.

The Navajo reservation land Arizona. A storm cloud was just making it's way across the plain, and ended up ruining a great photo shoot of the Monument Valley park. I was able to get some great shots of the other spires though.

I should clarify that the photo I am speaking of that was ruined was of the Monument Valley, not this shot here. I guess I should have clarified that earlier. Sorry about the confusion, I don't think this shot was ruined, these are the other spires.

This is probably the best photo i've taken on my phone,
Sure, the quality is a bit low, but it captured the moment.

It just goes to show that you don't need the best of the best equipment to get good photographs.

Phone was a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Edited with Instagram ;)

Well Arran isn't my home, I have to get a boat to come here but I'm Scottish *if my name didn’t give it away* and I simply love going over to Arran as it’s a beautiful place with many walks and breath-taking scenery. Arran is known as Miniature Scotland as it’s an Island next to Adrossan in Ayrshire and it is basically Scotland...but mini sized...

Anyway, last time I was there I was doing the same walk and I managed to get this amazing photo that some of you may have seen before:

[link]

That was a brilliant day last year and this one was too because I had a new camera and got some fantastic photos. Looking at them they fill my head with random crap like fantasy stories, animal spirits, magic etc and that’s what Arran does to you because it’s like a centre for imaginative minds and fairy tales and it just makes me love my country, I look at these photos and it makes me so proud to be Scottish, every village, town, city and country all have their bad sides but when you go to a place like this you know that there’s always good.

If you ever come to Scotland I highly suggest you go to Arran because it will amaze you and you never know, you might not want to go home, hehe

This was something done for fun on conceptart.org.The theme is "Venetian Queen's Floating Palace" so this is my take:

It was a good thing the Queen's new palace floated above her "simple people". Because if the most expensive creation in history ever sunk to the earth, her people would ensure she'd never set foot on the ground again.

Totally rushed and now definitely want to move on x_x

Stawa Mills - Stawa (a beacon) in the shape of a windmill , situated at the end of Western Breakwater in Swinoujscie. On its top there is a flashing light, which serves to navigation . It has a height of 10 m , is painted white and a black roof.
Stawa Mills is one of the symbols of Swinoujscie, as part of the official logo of the city. Photos of "windmills" are widely used in promotional materials, on postcards from Swinoujscie, covers guides, etc
