When I look at reviews for Linkin Park's "Minutes to Midnight" and "A Thousand Suns", both fans and critics tend to complain about the change in musical direction.
This bugs me since while it's true that the direction had changed in that area, I don't see many talking about what's great about the albums. I feel that in those two albums, they contain some of Linkin Park's most mature and well-vocalized lyrics they had ever written at that point. Especially with "A Thousand Suns", in which they not only made a really good, multi-concept album with strong themes to it, but they seemingly made a genre-buster that's so impressive and refreshing, that it's almost incomparable to anything else that came before it.
