and it's Kya as a little baby if you wonder..she is the oldest, isn't she?

Everything will be uh-vatar if Tahno eventually joins the crew. Or maybe I am putting way too many hopes into that little ‘See ya around, Uh-vatar’. But I wanted both Tahno and Iroh being here anyway, because I lohve them.
Excuse me for Bolin. I am really sorry ahaha, baby I apologise to you, too. I gave you a Pabu badge and a music player, so maybe it will be easier for you.

When I'm happy, I draw cheerful stuff!
Besides, since I'm still into Avatar I thought I had to practice a bit more with characters I don't draw really often! I mean, my sketches usually turn out to represent Aang or Katara - together, too - but Sokka and Toph... hmm, the former has strange facial proportions. So... here's the whole Ga(a)ng! - Katara being all embarassed (lol!), Sokka and Toph enjoying a quenchy cactus juice and Aang being... um... how would you describe that elbow against his cheek? xD
Since Toph didn't get the chance to taste the cactus juice in ep. 2x11, I wanted to finally give her the opportunity for doing so
I know I left Appa and Momo out - I was actually going to include Momo, maybe throwing him in one of the corners, but in the end I had a little "location problem"; so I decided not to draw him, also because I wanted the whole "human" gang to be all in display ^^

I'm very happy with this piece: it took me less than I expected (even though the sketch, the cleaning and the lineart took a while) and it came out exactly how I had planned at first! *____*
Besides, I had fun with colours! I chose cell-shading because I think it suits this style *____*

Oh my gosh.
I can't tell you how much Chapter ten broke my heart.

This was like.. the most depressing sacrifice Lin could have made. It was such a feeling of mixed grief and admiration for her courage that I'm still getting all these feels!

Lin is by far my favorite character, and has been since she began to show that she wasn't just a bossy chief - when she started to show real personality and selflessness.

So here, have your hearts broken once more Avatards.
Anyone who watched Chapter 10 will know this scene, so I feel no need to explain.

I forced myself to make a head canon this week! AND THIS CAME OUT OF MY BRAIN!

Growing up, Lin never had to face the ‘boogyman’ or any other mythical creatures. No, her mother always tried to scare her with the infamous “Melon Lord” act. This tactic usually did work in scaring her daughter in doing her chores and eating her vegetables. It was ‘sweet’ for Toph.

But eventually this ‘melon lord’ effect started wearing off Lin, mainly because Toph kept grabbing the wrong fruit…

I wonder if I can crank out more head canons…

I've been so busy obsessing over Korra, I almost forgot how much I love this girl!
Toph, you rule.

...and after that, Bumi stopped asking questions.

When I first saw the official Kataang family tree I was kinda surprised when I looked at their second child Bumi... both for the name and for his aspect! XD Then this comic popped out in my mind and couldn't help but drawing it!

I admit, I got a bit lazy with the colouring I was just tired of working on this - unfortunately I'm a bit incostant when I work on my comic pages - and wanted to finish it as soon as possible! xD

This may count as a "Kataang family bit", right? I'll say!

and I am kind of so proud of myself, even though it didn't turn out the way I wanted to and I didn't include Yue, who I wanted to be here but who I was way too lazy and tired to draw.

also background... I am awful at drawing backgrounds, and I can't wait until I will finally improve enough to make my background look good enough.


I wanted to draw Harry Potter-Avatar crossover for such a long time, and I have much more ideas with characters crossovers, but obviously I can't draw it normally-_- But still, I am happy I finally did this one^^
It just popped out in my head when I re-watched ATLA..also while getting 'quite a few' messages from people complaining about me not drawing Harry Potter as frequently as I used to..*sorry about that*

So, now about houses.
I honestly can't see Zuko anywhere else but on Gryffindor. He quite reminds me of Sirius considering all his family mass, so he's a true Gryffindor, not to mention he's so hot headed:3
Sokka, in my head, would definitely be on Ravenclaw, because even despite his dorky attitude (sometimes), I guess he's actually the smartest in the group (when it comes to all those planning-map reading-strategy stuff), which, I guess, is quite Ravenclaw.
Aang is Hufflepuff. I didn't even doubt it a single minute, even though he's brave enough to be in Gryffindor. He's just.. Aang is Aang, a little weirdo<3
I had quite a hard choice on Katara, because..well she's smart enough for Ravenclaw, and brave and caring and has enough quialities for Gryffindor.. so I wasn't sure and this choice was a little bit random. But still, I am all for Mighty Katara on Gryffindor
Toph.. I also had quite a problem with sorting her, but still.. she's kind of royalty, she's the Melon Lord.. so, Slytherin:3
So is Azula whom I didn't even think a minute. Azula is probably the TRUE Slytherin.
mm Ty Lee is Hufflepuff but mostly because she loves pink, haha, I am not sure about it. But I like her being on Hufflepuff the most.
Suki is Gryffindor. She's the warrior, after all:3 idk idk I guess she would also fit on Ravenclaw with Sokka, but I went for Gryffindor.
Mai....I wasn't sure if I should have her on Slytherin or on Ravenclaw, but ended up in Slytherin.. and I am honestly not sure why, except for her not showing any emotion to random people, only for the chosen ones, like Zuzu
Jet... oh Jet... this choice was kind of random, too.

Also Appa... This Appa was to be made out of paper, Aang just playing with it using his magic, but I totally failed making him looking like he's made out of paper. aanddd I forgot to colour Sokka's boomerang. -____-

anyway, I wrote a big clumsy terrible description, so now I will just leave it like this..Hope you'll like it

I watched Avatar (or "The Last Airbender" *eyeroll* which I think is stupid that they had to change the title cuz stupid James Cameron had to jack the original) on my flight to LA (as well as The A-Team--AMERICUUUHHHH!!! FUCK YEAH!!!).

Honestly, my initial thought was FIRE PRINCE MILLIONAIRE!! ROCK ON!!

Which was immediately followed by my second thought: JASPER!SOKKA IN THE ARCTIC!!

Anyway, cute movie. I mean the concept of the original series is pretty awesome but the movie execution was generally meh. Screenwriter was probably on a creative block because... Katara's lines were honestly pretty bland. But I did enjoy all the martial arts choreography. So I wanted to draw an action pose, since I just came back from my yoga class.

Quick doodle. I go to bed now. Night night.

I think Aang is by far the most fun thing to draw. I looooove his arrow tattoo!!

It's shameful how little Avatar fanarts I have up here. Legend of Korra is by far the best animation I've ever become hooked on. Just never had the chance to give Korra some decent fan art.

I wanted to draw Amon’s calves, because they are really nice, and it turned into an opportunity to practice all the things I suck at: digital lining, action poses, perspective, feet, elements. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! (except I’m obviously not an effects person…)

Finally Finally I am able to spend sometime with my tablet. *tearbend*
I was too busy to draw during the last 4 month, but now the chaos is about to over, and hopefully my life can come back to normal.

it's interesting to imagine what kind of parent Toph will be. She'll become a love mother for sure, I like the word "tough love" and according to how she trained Aang and how she performed as a bender teacher, I can see she's very strict with training time as well.
It's also interesting to imagine their daily life outfit, Toph can't just wear armor all the time... and they are noble after all.

anyway, the purpose of making this piece is to remind myself keep practice, cus there is so many excuse not to.

Even as the child of the greatest earthbender in the world, I don't believe Lin mastered earthbending and metalbending without effort. on the contrary, in order to carry on her mother's legend, she might push herself harder than any other earthbender in the world.

I think sometimes “talent” is over emphasized. It's very hard to even define what "talent" is and to measure it.
All the "talented artists" I know personally are also very hard working person, some of them work extraordinary hard than I can ever reach. It's not fair to simply ascribed their success to their "talent" and ignore the most hard part.

I still don't think I have much "talent" for drawing even now, but it no longer bother me as it once did, cus I just love drawing and I believe hard working will surely be paid off.

Well, just some personal point of veiw, talent and hard work, I suppose it's an endless debate. But to those who noted me and doubt your "talent", this is my answer.

Speaks of software, I am sometimes asked which software is the best for digital drawing or does it necessary to buy a Photoshop.
Well, I don't think there is "the best drawing software" in the world, each artist has their own coloring hobbit and method, so as long as it suits you most is the best.
For me, I tend to use Sai to make doodle or sketch, for it's faster and smooth, on the other hand, although Photoshop runs slower and cost more time to get strokes right, it enable more freedom in customizing things.
Sai is a very great free paint software, lots fantastic artists use it, it worth a try.

I got the tip that doing some fanart can be good for art frustration. So here's my shot at Katara from Avatar the Last Airbender.

Actually, it worked as a good cure for the frustration! And I needed to practice painting water, which was so much fun!
Some things are still bugging me in this, but I'm tired of looking at it after 15 hours, haha.

Edit: decided to push those 15 hours into 18. Wanted to do Katara's face justice - and get rid of the irritation I felt over it, haha.

While I found her pretty annoying in the series, Katara's waterbending always fascinated me - I have so many random doodles of her, it's ridiculous.

So finally here's a finished painting of Katara in her fire nation clothes with a few design liberties. Let's just say she's a little older in this one and trying a new style

It's been a while since I used my graphics tablet to draw digital. So after a long break I tried it again and had to realize that my computer is too slow for my programms+tablet all of a sudden oÔ
Not great - seriously not great! I managed to finish this one nevertheless.


So it's Korra being adorable again and having a "family moment" with her parents (yep, the hands)...
I tried painting it close to the original LoK style and failed..... hard. It was still fun though!
And after such a long break it could be worse I guess...

::Falls over dead:: This is a long overdue commission from Wondercon last year! The client wanted the Legend of Korra characters posed like the classic Star Wars poster. It took a lot of thumbnailing and composition tweaking to fit everyone, but I think I managed to find a balance between the characters while still keeping true to the original. I spent a long time trying to get this right, because I adore Korra and I really wanted to get everyone just right. I'm really proud of the palate as well. I feel I managed to capture a movie poster feeling with it. I even made myself paint Republic City, which I am proud of

Long ago, their lived a single nation bound together in harmony and peace.
Then everything changed during The Purging.
Emerging from the darkness was the Avatar, the creator and teacher of the four bending elements.
But when The Purging was over, he vanished.
