I use Tonner Doll Company's factory produced Stefan and Damon Salvatore doll. The inset photos at the bottom show the dols in their original factory state.

As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The dolls also underwent extensive hair rework to match the proportions of the faces .

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

With the huge following and popularity that "The Vampire Diaries" has gained and as a follow up to my custom Damon doll last year, I thought I'd create Stefan Salvatore, the other half of the Salvatore vampire siblings from the hit tv show. Paul Wesley portrays the character along with Ian Somerhalder as Damon and Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert.

I use Tonner Doll Company's factory produced Stefan Salvatore doll. The inset photo at the bottom right shows the doll in its original factory state.

As with all my creations, I completely strip the original factory paint on each of the dolls, and completely repaint the facial features in, paying attention to accuracy of likeness and lifelike expressions. The doll also underwent extensive hair rework to match the proportions of the face. .

The final installment in the Twilight saga continues with a newly turned Vampire Bella that I chose to recreate in this new custom doll.

Full facial repaint and shading as well as extensive hair style make over to replicate the features of Kristen Stewart as the vampire Bella and Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen particularly as they appeared in Breaking Dawn Part 2

The inset photos on the bottom shows the mass produced versions of the dolls as they were originally released.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

In remembrance of my dearest departed mom's birthday (she would have been 83 today).

The canvas I used for this repaint of my mom is Ashton Drake's Gene doll (shown on bottom right) because of its subtle yet versatile mold. The doll's original factory paint was completely removed and then precision repainted to replicate my mom's features. Meticulous and careful hair styling completed the doll's look.

The inset photo of her on the bottom right was used as reference.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

This celebrity doll repaint was inspired by Vivien Leigh's much acclaimed portrayal as Scarlett O'hara from the now timeless classic, "Gone With The Wind", particularly as she looked in her famous portrait in the film wearing a magnificent blue dress.

I used a 16-inch Scarlett O'hara doll here produced by Robert Tonner Doll company. I completely removed factory facial painting and hand painted it to more faithfully replicate Vivien Leigh as Scarlett from that particular scene I had to pay careful attention to have the doll's expression reflect the same expression as Scarlett from the portrait.

The doll's hair has been completely restyled.

The photo on the bottom shows the doll as it looked originally before repainting.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

MANY THANKS FOR ALL YOUR COMMENTS AND INPUTS. AFTER ASSESSING AND RE-ASSESSING THE WORK IN PROGRESS VERSION, I DECIDED TO STRIP THE ENTIRE HOT TOYS FACTORY PAINT AND START WITH A CLEAN SLATE.

IN THE WORK IN PROGRESS VERSION, THE ORIGINAL HOT TOYS PAINT APP WAS KEPT INTACT AND I SIMPLY PAINTED OVER THE EXISTING PAINT. THIS LIMITED MY CREATIVE RANGE AS I HAD TO WORK WITH EXISTING PAINT. AFTER MUSTERING ENOUGH COURAGE, I DECIDED TO REMOVE THE ORIGINAL HOT TOYS PAINT COMPLETELY AND START WITH A BLANK "CANVAS". I AM MUCH HAPPIER WITH THE RESULTS THIS TIME.

You can purchase this necklace in my Etsy shop, here: [link]

The beads inside are made of glass. I did not use sand in the vials like I had originally wanted to because there are small holes in the tops and bottoms of each vial and the sand would seep out of the vials (then NONE of the houses would have any points, and that would be a tragedy! :noes: ).

If you have any questions, please let me know! :)

Mero got a cute sushi pillow!! :aww:
Now he has something to snuggle with on those lonely nights. <_< Poor baby.

I promised I would take a shot showing off his tasty little sleeve. *u* So here you go, guys!
His tattoos consist of a Lollipop, Ribbon, Ice cream, Strawberry Patch, and turquoise/black leopard print.
(Lollipop inspired by one of TwinkieChan's tatts)
I'm also thinking about giving him a Sugar Skull on his outer thigh. What do you think? :iconhurrplz:

~

(Yeah, this character is *technically* male (he has male anatomy -- male body, penis, unisex sculpt, etc) but he is also a doll, so please take your nonsense remarks elsewhere. His OC is transgender, so guess what? Him looking like a girl...IS THE POINT. If you dislike it, no one is making you look at this photo, just yourself. So if you have an issue, just look elsewhere and spare me (and yourself) the stupidity of commenting. Thank you kindly.)

Being a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy film, I anticipated with much excitement Tonner Company's release of their LOTR line of dolls based from the films.

This sculpt in my opinion is absolutely spot on, but sadly the factory paint failed to bring out Cate Blanchett's strongly distinct features. Scale and proportion were major issues, particularly the eyes and lips.

Since her makeup was very minimal, it was a little tricky as well.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

DEVIATION NOTES:

This doll, at 22-inches, is much larger than dolls I usually work with, so it's a bit of a challenge to tackle a different scale, not only painting-wise but the logistics of it. Anyhow, the sculpt is really quite beautiful but needed the proper paint treatment to bring Monroe to life.

Full facial repaint as reworking of hair and hair line were all essential to this transformation.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

Custom repaint of the Cassandra Peterson aka, the gruesomely seductive queen of macabre, Elvira - Mistress of the Dark.

This doll underwent hair restyling to better replicate Elvira's. As with all my custom repainted dolls, I remove the original factory makeup. I then repaint the character's features paying attention to precision and accuracy as well as true to life facial expression.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness.
