FINALLY, after almost four years, I got silkie chickens! Names are Marble (partridge) and Crystal (white) They look really cool when they grow up, just wait I actually got them on the 25th of January, but leave it to me to be too lazy to put it up. Won't happen again, though. They're bigger now, though they still seem kind of small, and they let me flip them over onto their backs in my hand, it's adorable. They would stretch their necks and stare at you, which is pretty funny. Today Marble walked up to my face, stared at it, then pecked it. It was so funny
When I heard of the contest, I went looking for the reference photo. It wasn't until I found out Seattle would be leaving that I was able to draw anything, and even then, it was very very hard to do it. She is a very special bird to me. As such, this is a drawing of her (referenced a photo I took for her head). You may notice there are only 8 primaries, this was intentional as Sea is missing 2 primaries from each wing and is missing one of her middle toes.
Prismacolor marker on printer paper. Darn blue died partway through working on the background :/ Because I worked this like an oil painting and it is somewhat lineless, I call it a marker painting rather than drawing.
All my images are available for use as stock. I only require that if you use them to create works of your own, that you provide me with a link to your finished work so that I may fave it and enjoy it as well.
One of my male Anna's enjoying his lukewarm fresh nectar while sitting in the sunshine...I'm not complaining but it was a bit cooler here this morning than it has been! Might I say winter maaaaay be on its way?!!
Chirp turned five this spring, having added countless descendants to brighten the gardens in Kansas. He perches in the red bud that I planted for him, and the three of us grow older together, along with a woman, a dog, and two cats.
I really loved how pretty this jelly fish looked against such a lively blue. This was from my visit to the aquarium. Hope you like. :3 I'm sorry for putting my signature partly on the jelly, it was the only place where it couldn't easily be cut off if this photo gets stolen.
Edit: wow, I can't believe how many faves I've received for this. Thank you guys so much. ;__; It means a lot. <3
More Zutara. I'm such a sucker for this pairing, it's not funny anymore. They are obviously much older in this picture (I'd say late twenties).
The title "Dreaming through the Noise" is taken from Vienna Teng's beautiful album with the same name, which I listened to over and over again while drawing and coloring this pic.
The outlines took extremely long this time. I tried to give the picture that feeling of those Chinese romance-martial arts movies (the ones where the actors, costumes and sceneries are so gorgeous that you hardly notice that the actual story makes no sense whatsoever). I don't know if I succeeded, or if it's just plain cheesy... xD
... a.k.a "Zuko sure knows how to make compliments" or "Zutara makes me want to re-read Pride and Prejudice".
Set some years into the future, on a summit of the four nations. Zuko is soon-to-be Fire Lord, Katara is an ambassador-ish water tribe VIP. As such, the two have to watch their mouth during their squabbles, lest they start another international war. ;D
Yes, Toph is very small considering she's supposed to be 16-ish here, but I like the idea of the world's strongest earthbender still being a tiny midget even when she's grown-up.
... and with that, I'll be off to London for a few days. Yay!
