Dads as parents Poem storyThat kid is staring at me again,More Like This
I know he doesn't like me at all.
Why does he just sit there,
Watching me, waiting for me to mess up.
Now he is walking this way,
His fists are clinched.
I am to scared to run,
There is nothing I can do.
So I hear your daddy's gay,
Ha that's gonna mess you up in the end.
Betcha gonna end up a queer like your daddys huh?
Queers don't make good parents, that's what my dad says.
He's a man.
Shut up.
Just shut up.
They are the best parents,
Even through their a gay couple,
My dads' raised me to be who I am.
Shut up.
Shut. Up.
The sound his face made when my fist collided with it,
that simple crack that made it right.
It was what I needed.
This is what needed to be done.
So what? My dads' are queer.
They raised me to be strong,
To know how to stand up for myself,
No matter you I come face-to-face with.
I ain't scared.
Not even of you.
