So, it was fate that I met his father.
I had only been trying to do the right thing; Team Aqua had been wrong in stealing Mr. Briney's Pokémon and the Devon goods, and I was simply in the right place at the right time to stop them. I didn't ask to become Mr. Stone's personal delivery girl, nor did I intend to make the job permanent. I was simply the "reliable" one.
As the "responsible and reliable girl" that I was, Mr. Stone, the president of the Devon Corporation requested that I deliver both the stolen-and-then-retrieved goods and a letter for him. The goods would go to Slateport, where I needed to pass through anyways in order to make it to Mauvil
