Chapter 1 Coincidence
"You're coming with me to Earth. Now," Admiral Anderson commanded, walking proudly in his Alliance blues. With his entourage following closely behind him, he stood out amongst the crowd of degenerates in Omega. A tall and brawny soldier with blood dripping from his Mohawk also accompanied him on his way to the docking bay.
"Forget it. There's nothing for me there," Lieutenant James Vega barked.
"I've got something for you. Something you haven't had before."
"Just throw me in the goddamned brig and be done with it!"
"You're not far off, Lieutenant," the Admiral shot back from the airlock of the SR-2, "Only you'll be guarding the brig."
Vega followed Anderson aboard and was immediately mesmerized by the Normandy's inte

"ETA to the Mass Relay, 15 minutes. Destination: Citadel," An officer aboard the Palaven I spoke out. Nihlus nodded his head in acknowledgement, but his green eyes never left his focus out in space from the window aboard the ship's bridge. Despite his years in the military, he couldn't wait to touch solid ground, even if that meant talking to a bunch of diplomats aboard the Citadel. As much as the Turians wanted to avoid conflict, he was hoping for a little bit of action: Batarian protestors .anything! He spent the past few months on a surveillance mission under his mentor, Saren. He was hoping now as a Spectre, that he would see more battles than he did in the Turian military.
"There's a transmission coming through from the Council. Do you wish to take it, sir?" Another Turian asked out.
Nihlus silently praised the ship's spirit and turned to reply to the officer. Just before

Chapter 2 Isolated Mother
Typically Commander Shepard had no difficulty in being brave. She fought every kind of enemy on the battlefield and stood victoriously after each round. Yet today she found herself standing hesitantly in front of the doors to the main battery. She had a different battle to overcome the overwhelming strain of being separated from her bondmate.
It had been six months since she last saw Garrus. Six months held in captivity at the Detention Center at Alliance headquarters and spending every day and night aching for the warmth of his hand. Being taken away from him so shortly after the news of her pregnancy intensified the isolation and created a gapping chasm within her heart. Claiming the bulge from her stomach was from her lack of military lifestyle. For t

I swiped a hand over my face in mock frustration before I glanced up at the soldier who had entered. "Mr. Vega, I hadn't thought you would have such a short term memory. I am no longer a commander."
"Not legally, ma'am," James said smugly as I walked over. "Yet. Admiral Anderson wants to see you. I'm to take you to his office. I think it's urgent."
I frowned but nodded consent; he caught my look just before he turned and fell into step behind me. James meant well, and I admired his obvious faith in me, but reminding me of my title- former title- most every day was, in fact, becoming annoying.
And now he had been told to escort me to the Admiral's office. It wasn't his fault for following orders- I commended him for that- but it was one more subtle insult piled

They seem to have set up little posts down in their base now. They keep on making random

With a heavy sigh, I reloaded yet another clip. I got up and looked through the scope. Another
cruiser sat in the back of the base. -Strange...I thought they were done letting in freelancers...?-
I zoomed in the scope and watched the humans come out. -Two Cerberus operatives?? What
