dripping from her eyelashes
that made me love her.
She was a sinking ship,
and I longed to descend
into the watery depths
of her eyes-
I could hold
It was the bruises sleeping
on the curve of her hips
that called to me like hungry sirens.
Licking her salty lips,
I traveled the scattered freckles on her back.
Shaping an angry dragon as if together,
we were part of the sky, all long-limbed,
tongues and teeth- she whispered,
"Do you know the story of Draco?"
Haven: chapter 8Dimitri quickly jumps to protect me, but I'm already running. I haven't figured out where yet but I'm running. Running from the man I love most. But I can't help it, I'm so fear stricken that my legs wont stop, my mind wont clear. And I can hear him in pursuit. No, that's not my Phoenix. That's a monster.More Like This
I suddenly find myself in that meadow where all of this madness began. I get to the center and stop, knowing that this was always my fate, to fall prey to my lover turned beast. He reaches the clearing and stops, staring at me with those eyes so full of anger. He walks no closer to me, just stands there, glaring at me.
"Is this all I could do to convince you that he never cared?" He growled in an unnerving version of his own voice.
"What are you talking about?" I whisper
"He's not here, is he? He's not here to protect you as normal," He walks toward me and I don't move. He stands directly in front of me. I can almost see tears in his eyes. "I was never enough for you was I? It was him

His breath fogs into the air in front of him, the cold pulling the warm air from his mouth and tugging it away. His face worn, and tired, as the shovel scrapes the asphalt. Music plays from his headphones. He is unaware of the echos from the houses around him as the metal shovel grinds along. Oblivious to the man approaching steadily across the front walk, until a hand grabs his shoulder, shoving him slightly. The shovel is knocked from his hands and one of his headphones slides out of it's precarious perch in his ear.
He starts to turn but the man's grip tightens. As he stands up straight, he feels it. The cold metal against his neck. He stops moving. The man speaks but his brain is incapable of processing the words. The man speaks again.
"I said don't fuckin' move bitch!"
His chest is heaving, his lungs struggling against the chill to flood his body with oxygen. His mind flies, a thousand thoughts in each passing second. A thousand scenarios for
Short #2 - The Snap - Pt. 1Have you ever wondered what it would be like to completely break someone? To see all traces of hope fade from their eyes as you stand before them. To hear their screams and pleas fade off slowly. Tapering into what can only be described as whimpers. A whimper that sounds somehow, familiar. Is it the hint of realization that whimper contains perhaps? That slight intonation of sudden realization mixed with.. what is that.. ah yes! Despair.More Like This
Don't lie to me now. I know what your first thought was, after all we are so much alike, are we not? You sit there in your chair reading my words with those smug thoughts. Thinking that you are better than me! Thinking that I'm what.. crazy? Insane perhaps? You are a fool. All it takes is one push. That one event that shoves a sane man just a little too far, just a touch over the edge. All that separates you from me, dear reader, is mere seconds.
Maybe it will be the next time you're pulling into a parking spot and get cut off by that asshole in a tank
Short #3 - The Snap - Pt. 2Welcome back reader, where were we? Ah, yes. We need to start at the beginning don't we? Well then, I suppose this is as good a place as any…More Like This
I woke up that day feeling not significantly different than any other. Life had become fairly stagnant in the passing months since I quit my job. Sometimes I wonder what would've happened.. What if I had stayed there for just a little while longer.. but I digress. What if's and I wonder's have no place in this story. Don't let me get off track now. As I was saying, the day was perfectly fine. One of those "warm" winter days in the northern states. That perfect mixture of warm sunshine, with just the right amount of brisk winter air to wake you up. Just a few weeks until Spring, and then it was time to think about moving on.
I made my breakfast, a nice bowl of Fruity Pebbles cereal. Thinking as I poured it that tomorrow, for sure, I would have an orange or at the very least oatmeal instead. Probably go for a run too. Yeah, definitely tomorrow. I c
Short #4 - The TextHe stares at his phone, waiting, heart pounding. Pressing a random button every 10 seconds or so to make sure the screen stays lit up. His mind races as fast as the thudding in his chest. What if she got lost? Maybe she asked someone for directions and something happened to her! Maybe some idiot slammed into her on the highway. A 10 hour drive is no joke, and it's been 30 minutes since she texted last, saying she was almost there.More Like This
Just as he's about to send the 6th message in a row, his phone beeps. Two words. "I'm here". He jumps up from the computer and quite literally sprints up the stairs taking 3 at a time. Not bothering with a jacket or shoes he grabs the door handle and pauses for a second, gazing at the gap between the curtains. A strange car sits in the driveway with slight movement coming from inside of it.
A smile lights his face, stretching from one ear to the next. He twists the handle and the door flies open. He bangs straight through the screen door and leaps down the st
