Usually one arm props the dummy up while the other is controlling it from inside, but for this picture I liked the balance both arms crossing created. JOKERFACE must be in "idle" mode... for now...

I really feel there are a lot of connections to make in this mix.

This was made from 700 pictures taken at Disneyland through out the years.
The eldest ones date back to when I was little, then it jumps to 2006 when I celebrated my 18th birthday at DLP, then photos range from 2008 to 2011.

Early release of one of the portraits that will be on display at my upcoming cinema-inspired solo show! I've been working extremely hard on this project for the past several months, and it's great to be able to finally show some pieces.

Léon is one of my absolute favorite movies and it is Natalie Portman's breakout role (and most interesting performance, IMO), so if you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it! Digital painting [link] from references [link], Adobe Photoshop + Cintiq 21UX tablet, approx 16-18 hours. Please note the actual title of the piece is the movie quote up there, sadly dA titles don't have enough characters (nor do they allow special characters like "é".... grrr!)

The opening reception for the show ("MOMENTS" by Alice X. Zhang) is on Friday, June 7th at Bottleneck Gallery. If you are anywhere in the NYC area at that time, I would be delighted to see you! Admission is completely free, more information and RSVP at the event listing.

The original centaur concept design was actually sort of a not so crazy idea. For as long as we've known eachother, people have always remarked how similar my favorite horse Ara and I are... I am the human version of her, and she is the horse version of me (I dont nessicerily agree, but I sure do hear it alot!) so this was obviously a combination of the two of us as one being.

Obviously a Centaur made alot more sense than doing it the other way (although there is a wacky sketc of that also!) Anyway I thought it was fun to have that flirty dancer thing happening because the both of us are very much defined as dancers and I think it managed to come across... it was just a random thought that happened on my sketch pad one day

I havent participated in a while, but this month I had no choice. The reference was of an eye, and as most of you know; I love eyes!

Here is another colour warm up today. I love the colours used in the show so this is just another practice/warm up before I do back grounds. Spiderman always has great poses that I need to be more dynamic. The Ultimate Spiderman was used as reference.
