Harry Potter and the Game of Thrones! (because my brain has this terrible urge to make connections between everything I've read, have the Harry Potter characters sorted into the houses of Westeros xD) I left out some houses and characters because I couldn't match them (sorry Baratheon! >< let me know if you have any ideas!) but here goes...
♣ Harry Potter as House Stark: the boy who was promised, a thing for honour and "saving people", and a house of orphans destined for great things.
♣ Hermione Granger as House Martell: headstrong, intelligent and outspoken - there's a reason Hermione was sorted into Gryffindor.
♣ The Weasleys as House Tully: a loyal family of redheads, seemingly rustic but can surprise you with their badassery.
♣ Neville Longbottom as House Tyrell: because Tyrell's words are so appropriate! although not as political, he's a power that grows throughout the story, and the sigil fits Neville's love of herbology.
♣ Luna Lovegood as House Arryn: an association with air and high places that fits Ravenclaw Tower; seen as detached and a bit kooky by others.
♣ The Malfoys as House Lannister: arrogant blondes loaded with old money that they use for political power... they are a close-knit family, in their own way (and Narcissa's actions at the end are very much "a Lannister always pays her debts")
♣ Severus Snape as House Greyjoy: harsh and unforgiving; the house of Turncloaks and self-proclaimed Princes who make terrible life choices. (ahaha so basically all my favourites are Greyjoys... /hides)
♣ Dolores Umbridge as House Bolton: creepy and manipulative; fond of pink and controlling their enemies by cutting them open.
♣ Fenrir Greyback as House Clegane: the Mad Dog, or the Mountain That Bites... employed as a vicious bruiser by the other Houses.
♣ Voldemort as House Targaryen: 'madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin'; ambitious, ruthless and scarily powerful.
EDIT 03/07/13: This piece has been licensed by the BBC! Now available as an official Sherlock print in the BBC Shop, as well as from Big Chief Studios!
Painted this over Livestream in about 4 hours, you can view the full recording at my new Youtube channel. Thank you very much to all who stayed and watched! I have always loved all imagery of Sherlock Holmes playing the violin, I find it very striking and it's one of his most recognizable and interesting character traits. This piece is inspired by BBC's Sherlock (I cannot possibly recommend this show more!)
Time-lapsed process video can be watched here. Drawn and painted in Adobe Photoshop with a Wacom tablet. Reference from here.
Available to buy as a phone case and other products here.
EDIT 10/09/13: I have provided this high-res wallpaper as a COURTESY to fellow Sherlock fans, and I expect my work to be treated with respect. Time and time again I have seen art thieves download this painting, PHOTOSHOP OUT MY SIGNATURE, and re-upload it to their own websites as a "free wallpaper," or, even worse, print it as a poster or on a phone case to sell on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, StoreEnvy, etc. It's absolutely ridiculous and disappointing. I'm leaving the wallpaper up because I know most don't do that, but I'm going to say this once again since it's apparently not clear: DO NOT REMOVE MY SIGNATURE FROM THIS ARTWORK FOR ANY REASON . If you see this painting on any of the above sites, please do me a favor and report it. If you see this painting on any products or websites without credit to me, I ask you not to buy it, and JUST REPORT IT. Thank you.
This is an illustration I did of the Nine Worlds from Norse mythology for my maps project. I wanted to do a simple, informative map because I was baffled by how little most people know about it compared to Greek/Roman/Egyptian mythology.
I used the Norwegian names instead of the Norse/Icelandic ones because that’s how I know them as and is a lot more relatable to me (ek snakkur ikkur islendur!) and the descriptions are in English, but there’s a full Norwegian version around somewhere…!
You can read more about the map over at my Tumblr.
I've been wanting to do this idea for some time since the Star Wars/Disney merger happened. There has been so many reiterations of the Princesses, that finally I get to mess around with them and have my stab at it. Hopefully you guys like, because I have other ideas I'm knocking around for the others.
Please ask for permission before using any work.

Here's the third drawing for the series, sorry it took so long, life has a way of getting in the way. She was so far the trickiest one so far, particularly her color scheme. I grabbed some of her color palette and patterns from the Evil Queen. Hope you guys like!
I thought the whole Leia/Boushh thing from Retun was appropriate for Mulan's deal with her duality in service to China. I have much more to say about this piece so if you want to hear more of my boring rants on this, just visit my blog [link]
Hope you guys like this one
