PE: Decorating Your ProfileCommunity WeekMore Like This
Your profile page is the first thing people will see when they click on your name, so it's very important to leave a good impression! This article will provide some useful tips and tricks for both premium and non-premium members who want to convert their profile into their own, unique page. First off, some Do's and Don'ts of profile decoration:
Use dA's profile widgets-- there are lots of great options to chose from
Show off some art (that's what people are here for!)
Express your personality through colors, stamps, gifs, etc.
Add so many images that your profile takes forever to load
Use garish or headache-inducing colors
Make text difficult to read with dark backgrounds
While many widgets are restricted or locked for non-premium members, there are still a variety of great widgets that you can add to your profile, even without a membership.

Playing With Text in dA [Semi-Tutorial] UPDATEDFONTS ON DEVIANTARTMore Like This
There are several things you can do with dA's text. You can use Italics, Bold, Underline,
Strikethrough, and even change font face or font type. However, there aren't many directions on how to do these things. So, I'm going to give you a quick semi-tutorial on how to work these.
These features are easy enough to use once you know what you're doing. You just have to learn tags. You can visit this link to learn about some other common HTML tags.
The Simpleist Tags to Use Are:
< i > to begin italics and < /i > to end the italics
< strong > to begin bold and < /strong > to end the bold
< b > to begin bold and < /b > to end the bold
< u > to begin underline and < /u > to end the underline
< strike >
to begin strike and< /strike > to end the strike
< s > to begin strike and < /s > to end the strike

Basic HTML/CSS guide: what TAGS areWelcome in this simple guide!More Like This
I'll try to exaplain you the basic informations about coding, expecially to help you to personalize your dA experience. In fact, if you need to personalize your dA, you can use simple tags to give different characteristics to your page.
First of all, remind that sites are organized in 3 levels: HTML, CSS and DATABASE. We'll look only for the first two, because for simple coding, expecially in dA, database isn't useful (you need it only for big programming).
Please, read carefully... if you never experienced the codes before, you probably will need to read more times this document (it's normal, so don't worry).
Da reads my codes and display them, so I'll insert ♥ to permit you to read the codes. Remind that ♥ must be deleted if you want the code to run.
Every webpage is programmed using "tag (s)", attributes that say the characteristics of the page.
Tags are important for both
Did you know? - Individual disabling of MentionsIndividual disabling of MentionsMore Like This
While it is nice to know when and where people use your deviations, it can be troublesome for some deviations like emotes, profile decorations or other kind of popular ones.
You might not want to disable mentions in general, but exclude certain deviations for it.
In that case wait until one of such deviations pops up as a mention in your message center.
At the right side (next to the x-button) you have that little arrow icon. Click on that and you will end up with this.
If you click on it to proceed, you will have to confirm this change, to make sure you didn't click on it by accident...
... and from now on you won't get notified for this deviation anymore.
You are able to disable mentions for single deviations, but you are not able to redo it individually. In that case it is 'all or nothing'.
Right now it is

mAKE GIFS FROM YOUTUBE VIDSI DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS AND I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO AND NOW I KNOW SO HERE'S THE SCOOP FOR THOSE WHO MAY BE INTERESTEDMore Like This
If you put "gif" infront of "youtube" in a video URL, you'll be taken to a webpage where you have the video playing. You pause where you want the gif to start, then select the number of seconds you want it to be from that point.
Now, when I tried this, the gif was a bit too long at the start and end of what I wanted it to be. Here's what I did if you want to get this far into it;
1.) Go here; http://ezgif.com/split
2.) Upload your gif
3.) Once it loads, click "split it!"
4.) The frames will all show up. Download the frames as a zip to a place you can easily find it.
5.) Go to where you saved it, extract all the files (frames) to a place you can easily find it again.
6.) WHAT I DID was go to gifmaker.me. This website only allows up to 30 frames. If there's more than that, I can't really help you. Maybe there's another website you can go to.&
Using HTML on deviantARTMore Like This
Hello and welcome to my little html tutorial. I've been working with html codes for a couple of years and I'm going to teach you what I know about using some basic html on deviantART. This won't make you a html expert or something and I'm not an expert myself but it will give just enough knowledge to make your journals, comments, news articles and other neat and lovely looking.
deviantART actually has FAQs about html but I still wanted to do this because they look a bit unorganized, in my opinion. Also, why would you want to look for those FAQs when you can just open this news article where you have everything in one place?
You may already know some of these, but I hope you'll find at least something helpful in this news article.
