Apophysis 7X 15C - Hotfixes #9!Uploaded another fix release of Apophysis 7X15C. Addressed bugs/suggestions are:More Like This
+ Added a HF release number in the title bar and the about box (currently 9)
+ Fixed MT rendering to address the point bug
In addition to that, I added czech and french translations with the great help of the corresponding translators.
All of that is downloadable on apophysis.xyrus-worx.org - as always.
Lots of new stuff: JWildfire V0.44 releaseJust released JWildfire V0.44.More Like This
All of the numerous changes belong to the fractal flames generator T.I.N.A. , this release is some kind of "consolidation release". Complete list of changes:
- resolution and quality profiles for the main editor and the interactive renderer
- quality- and resolution-profile-editor
- quality- and resolution-related settings removed from the Preferences-window
- randomize color keyframe position in the random gradient generator to create more interesting gradients
- use gradients of random size in the random flame generators
- "From Editor"/"To Editor" buttons to quick exchanging from fractals between the editor and the interactive renderer
- rudimentary statistics display in the interactive renderer
- automatically clear the screen in the interactive renderer
- the interactive renderer also now respects the quality setting (from the render profile) and does not "overrender" as quickly as before
- take into account the real density while tonemapping an imag
Apophysis 7X 15C - Hotfixes #6! (Hopefully final)Okay. A few more TINY problems were addressed here:More Like This
+ Fixed author/language name loading code. Was still trying to read ANSI-characters which scrambled the display in non-ANSI languages (actually a not-so-tiny problem)
+ Added chinese localization contributed by ~fengda2870 - available from apophysis.xyrus-worx.org
+ Fixed a few strings which were not localized
I really hope this is the last hotfix release and it's perfect nowEnjoy!

JWildfire with interactive renderer: V0.43 releaseJust released JWildfire V0.43.More Like This
Major changes where made to the fractal flames generator T.I.N.A. - this time with a complete new feature the interactive renderer. The interactive renderer serves two purposes:
1. Explore random fractals in a really funny way. You can now follow the rendering of a fractal. If you have seen enough just press the NEXT button to get a new randomly generated flame. If you like it you can save it or copy it to the clipboard to tweak it in the main editor. Of course, you can load or paste any (non random) fractal into the interactive renderer.
2. WYSIWYG: Render an image until you are satisfied. Here is no oversampling applied. You can save the image all the time while it still rendering. So you can have a closer look at it to see if its really done, e.g. in a image processing software.
Complete list of changes:
- First "complete" and working version of the interactive renderer
- FIXED: filter radius was always set to high in rendering

USE ONLY SAME PROGRAM VERSIONS TO CONTINUE ANIMATIONS OR BIG RENDERINGS DUE TO COLOR OR LIGHTING CHANGES! ALSO FORMULA UPDATES CAN CHANGE RENDERINGS!
What is new in version 1.8:
- New compiler, new look.
- Transparency option in postprocessing, amount of it in object colors.
- Stereo function is more accurate.
- New diffuse map options for object coloring.
- Saving also the internal image buffer along with M3I.
- Addition option for lighting like intensity for all lights and background

e poi ancora all'infinito,
per tornare

Knots in Mandelbulb, and a videoMessing around with the torical coordinates (I found them http://www.fractalforums.com/theory/toroidal-coordinates/msg9428/#msg9428 here) I was able to find a distance estimation for the torus; once you find a DE you can import it in Mandelbulb3D, in Fragmentarium and in many other softwares. DE equals to an implicit surface. Links; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isosurface or http://iat.ubalt.edu/summers/math/platsol.htm (In MB there is no polygonization and the surfaces are infinitely smooth, so it's a lot better than this btw)More Like This
I wondered what could happen if I take a string that runs on the surface of the torus never intersecting itself. This leads to a knot! More precisely "torus knot". I was finally able to find an explicit expression for the DE of the torus knots! That was never done before.
Knighty helped me to further improve this, to get even more complicated figures.

Important news - MB3Dhttp://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=33More Like This
I submitted at FractalForums a new version of the official MB3D, with new versions of my formulas. The additions are "minor" but they can be very important in some cases...
1. I finally was able to do apollonian style fractals, after a long time reading formulas of all sorts. For now the formula is 2D + linear in z but in the future I might be able to do it in full 3D (?).
2. I added two new example files to the parameters (with permission). Open them and examine how they work, you should be able to learn how DIFS work. Also see this tutorial;
I have not enclosed it in the official binary because FF's hosting space is very limited. But you can see it here.
3. I made new versions of Polyfolding for normal fractals and for DIFS; they work a lot better - noise is 100% removed in some cases, or reduced greatly.

Do it your self guide for ApophysisLately I have been getting a lot of questions on how I make my images. So I have decided to put together a little article to help people get started with apophysis. I am linking tutorials that I know can help produce quality results I am not intending to take credit for any of these tutorials I am just sharing the resources.More Like This
1.What is apophysis? Its a free program used to create digital images based on mathematical equations. Don't worry the program does most of the work. A more basic way of looking at it would be you start with a single point and then add to it in different directions until you have an image.
Here Are a couple examples of what you could create using this program as you can see you add a lot of points to come up with a finished product. You can also see that the possibilities are virtually endless.
2.Where do I get Apophysis? The final version of Apophysis can be found here.He has some install instructi

A new amazing box experimentI had the idea of an amazing "box" with an infinite folding in x,y directions (normal fold acts only once, so each iteration generates nine spheres) and no fold at all in z direction - like the amazing surf, more or less.More Like This
Result looks very interesting, because each sphere is covered with an infinity of spheres, I thought that share this new idea can be useful to Mandelbulb users.
