My brand new Cthulhu bust is now available for purchase! It comes unpainted and is cast in solid, greyish-green, semi-translucent resin. This will be offered in a very limited quantity so grab one while they are hot!!!
Ready to be exposed at the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival (Bruges, Belgium), where H.P.Lovecraft is this year's main theme. Next to cult classics such as In The Mouth Of Madness and Re-Animator, they are offering us newer work such as The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu and The Wisperer In The Darkness, in precence of director and Lovecraft expert Sean Branney. Pretty honoured they asked me to create a few "old-looking pages" and glad they were impressed when they got them.
Items found in the cellar of an abandoned farmhouse near Arkham, Massachusetts. The cellar also contained the remains of twenty four human beings, some of these cadavers were in a skeletal state and dressed in 17th century clothing while others appeared to be much more recent. The disinterred corpses were assumed to be the work of a satanic cult, but as none of the remains could be identified the case was quickly closed by local authorities and the bodies reburied.
"Nor is it to be thought that man is either the oldest or the last of Earth's masters, or that the common bulk of life and substance walks alone. The Old Ones were, the Old Ones are, and the Old Ones shall be. Not in the spaces we know, but between them. They walk serene and primal, undimensioned and to us un-seen. Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again." -The Necronomicon
As an 80's kid and huge Batman fan, DKR was a big deal to me, so on the few occasions I've been asked to draw Bats in his armor suit have all been a treat for me. I'm very curious to see how the film handles this material. I never thought there would be a major Hollywood film that actually recreated this story or was even inspired by it. Crazy times.

Just when Harley thought her date at the flicks with Mista J was going to be a sure-fire hit, Joker brings Bats along too. They're still watching the adverts - not even at the main feature yet and Harls' is already at the end of her tether.
This was my first paid commission, and I’d say pretty confidently that he certainly got his money’s worth- this is probably my best paint job to date. The only functional mods are the detachable stock on the back which is itself a modified Recon stock, and a quick nip of plastic on the inside that lets it take most suction and whistler darts as well as Taggers. It’s apparently going to be used for both costume and war, so I left the tip orange and gave it three coats of sealer to make sure the paint survives the use it’ll be under. Any additions- the character’s crest, the wiring, etc- are attached no longer with glue, but with Epoxy. I also experimented a little with the dry-brushing I practiced on the Switch Shot, to fantastic effect. I am completely and thoroughly satisfied with how it turned out. And I am SO sad to see it go. But I know it's going to a good home. Also, now I can afford a spray gun. Yay!
Features: - About 30 Feet of Range with Taggers, and now accepts most other darts as well. - Steampunk paintjob and aesthetic modification, including a stock and drybrushing. - Retains all original features: Slamfire, jam door, 16-Dart integrated clip, etc.
This should really be called The dangers of Painting a Pentagram on you Head (which is what that black stuff is on his bald noggin!) but that didn't scan so well!
This started out as a sculpting demo from my last tutoring session at Gorton Studio and was finished off for and exhibited at The Prosthetics Event www.facebook.com/pages/The-Pro…
This is a publicity shot taken at the Event…I tried photographing him myself but I'm the worlds worst photographer…ever!….so you'll have to make do with this until I can arrange for someone who knows which end of a camera does what to have a go at snapping him!
Life size silicone bust with resin teeth and real hair (dunno who's…I found some in a box at work and used that!)
Follow my costuming & make-up on Facebook - [link] This is a custom corset and sleeve set for a customer who wanted an original autumn theme woodland costume. The fabric has a tree bark print that I faded to a burnt orange. It pairs with this cape and tree branch wings
Late last year I decided to take a break from model projects that involved a lot of careful planning and detail, and sat down for an afternoon with a pile of junk parts and a hot glue gun.
I've been collecting junk for ages now, and when I have too much, I get rid of some. This time, it actually turned into something
Using hot glue is quick, crude, and a lot of fun because design decisions can be made on the fly without careful cutting or waiting for adhesives to set.
This is my first build of this kind...it was a lot of fun. The final product has a lot of rough edges, but that was the whole point.
I made a couple of sketches first to get a rough idea of what I was going to build, and then I went nuts. I spent 4 hours or so building on the first day, painted it olive drab on the second...didn't like that, and the model sat for months. Then I came back to it, ripped off the original (fat) front legs and replaced them with legs more like the rears (another hour or so) and re-painted it in the scheme you see here (another few hours).
A partial parts list: -dental floss container -toothpaste caps -tictac lid -spool -Stealth bomber landing gear -p-51 fighter parts -helicopter rotor blades -plane ailerons and spars -small chunks from a klingon battlecruiser -small plastic cylinder collected on the beach -wooden peg with rounded end -LED in housing -large diode (?) -puzzle toy pieces made of connected spheres (I cut them apart and used individual spheres at joints) -corvette frame pieces, intake hose -sheet plastic -wire -pipe filters (metal mesh) -craft eyelets
