Learning to DanceIt wasn't the first time he smiled at me,
More Like This
Nor was it when we first held hands.
It wasn't even our first kiss,
It was when he looked at me and said "If you treat everything like it's going to end us, it will. If you treat it like it can be solved, we'll figure it out."
That's when I realized that falling in love is like learning to dance.
It can be hard and awkward at times,
Or smooth and beautiful.
But everybody has their own steps,
Their own method to life.
He is a tango; confident, constantly moving and very outgoing.
I am a waltz; Slow, controlled and never venturing too far from what I know.
Learning to love him was learning to step forward and speak my mind, to try new things and to trust.
Learning to love me was learning to slow down and stay in at times, to act gently and to think ahead.
Once we fell in love, we learned to dance each others dance,
And to meet in the middle.
We then developed a new dance;
It's fast-paced with light steps, gentle but flashy...
But most importantly
Spring LoveThe cold wind blows,
More Like This
And bites into my cheeks.
But that's just how it goes,
In these dark Winter weeks.
The sun goes to bed soon,
And so, too, must I.
Perhaps I'll sleep until June,
And bid this cold goodbye.
But I'll dream of your kiss,
And the warmth of your hands.
It's something I'll miss,
Until the Summer lands.
But spring will soon be here,
And wake the world anew.
There will be nothing to fear,
As we tread in the early morning dew.
Our love will start once more,
Strong and beautiful.
Spring opens the door,
To a love no longer dull.
