This is one of ten pieces I did for the new Star Wars Essential Guide to Warfare. I had a blast working on it and I'm excited that I am able to contribute to the Star Wars universe.

I will be posting them in the order of sequence as it appears in the book. Hope you guys enjoy them!

Admiral Hirken defends the Northern Dependencies during the Fifth Alsakan Conflict. This is one of a series of clashes between the planets Coruscant and Alsakan over the leadership of the Republic that took place over the span of 140 centuries almost 17,000 years BBY(before the Battle of Yavin). Star Wars starships look rather different back in those days when shield technology was rudimentary and instead rely on large reflective armor as their main defense.

A fan art of Nova from Blizzard's Starcraft II. Did it for a video games convention here in Singapore last year. The convention wasn't very good IMO.

Hope you guys enjoy this piece though. Can't sell it as print unfortunately.

Another illustration done for Medieval Warfare Magazine a few months back.

This is the battle of Kutna Hora fought in a cold winter night between the Hussites, led by the famous commander, Jan Zizka, and the combined Hungarian and German coalition led by King Sigismund of Hungary (also soon to be Holy Roman Emperor). As you will notice the Hussites were a primarily infantry force based around the tactic of using war wagons as a bastion against enemy heavy cavalry assaults, a tactic Jan Zizka used to devastating effect and hence made popular among medieval armies of the European east. Here The Hungarians and Germans are caught off guard as Jan Zizka conducts an offensive push to break through the royalist forces which have surrounded his own.

You can read more about the battle here >> [link]

Its was also interesting to read about the Hussite heresy and how it came about and why the Church was adamantly against them. There was even a letter sent by Saint Jeanne d'Arc to the Hussites threatening them with extermination if they did not renounce their heresy and embrace Catholic orthodoxy. Of course in such wars there's also always a whole lot of local politics involved which drove the conflict.

Hope you guys enjoy this piece :)

And if any of you are interested you can check out the magazine here. Its a very interesting magazine if you're in to medieval history. >> [link]

Here's a rare fan art piece I did of Mrs Skywalker. She's one of the coolest female leads in the Star Wars mythos but its too bad she died in the novels.

Notice she's using Luke's original lightsaber, the one he lost when he fought Vader, which he than retrieved later on and gave it to Mara.

Hope you guys like it.

Of the ten pieces I did for Warfare I think this is my favorite one. This scene takes place at the Battle of Kashyyyk during the Second Galactic Civil War where Galactic Alliance forces clash with Confederate forces made up of Bothans, Wookies, Hapans and the Jedi Order. The battle rages around the Anakin Solo, commanded by Jacen Solo (secretly Darth Cadeus), as she bombards the planet surface of Kashyyyk from orbit with her forward long-range turbolasers.

Other things to note in this piece is the never-before-seen Wookie Owool Interceptors making attack runs on the Anakin Solo and the Stealth X fighters flown by Jaina Solo and the Jedis in the foreground. There are also some XJ3/XJ5 X-wings flying about and for those who are wondering about the Mon Calamari Cruiser, yes, it is an MC90 class.

Hi guys! This is a new set of 12 artworks I did for the new Star Wars Essential Reader's Companion. Although the dateline for this book was a lot tighter it nevertheless was an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

As with the last book I will be posting them in the order of sequence as it appears in the Reader's Companion. Enjoy!

I have another one for you Mara fan's. This one is from the first book of the New Jedi Order series called Vector Prime and it shows Mara Jade dueling Yomin Carr. She's the first Jedi to ever encounter, duel and defeat a Yuuzhan Vong in single combat, albeit with great difficulty. This was an enemy unlike any other the Jedi has faced before and one that is formidable even to an experienced Jedi like Jade Skywalker. On top of looking like a pure badass the one thing that makes Yuuzhan Vong cool to me is their use of living bio-weapons like thud bugs (thrown projectiles) and the amazing amphistaff, which is a whip, sword, spear, and venom shooter all rolled into one and its apparently so tough that it can resist a lightsaber cut.

I think some of you may have already seen this image already as it was one of the preview images from the Reader's Companion but I'd like to mention that this is the updated version of the one floating around the net right now. I made some changes after some sharp-eyed fans pointed out that her lightsaber was the wrong kind and so I gave her Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber, which is more consistent with canon. I also noticed that Wookieepedia has the old version of this image. If anyone would be kind enough to update it with this version that would be great!

That's one way to end a squabble. This scene, from the book, Darksaber, is when Admiral Daala puts an end to the petty infighting amongst the Imperial Warlords after trying, unsuccessfully, to convince them to work together.

I had alot fun with this piece as it was chance to properly depict Warlords Teradoc, Harrsk and Delvardus. I've had a few people from Del Rey Publishing telling me that this its one of their favorite pieces from the Readers Companion and its one of mine too. :)

Kyle Katarn and Jerec duke it out at the Valley of the Jedi in Ruusan. This scene is from one of my favorite Star Wars game franchises, Dark Forces. Though I have to admit that Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight is the only one in the series I've not actually played through. Nevertheless I do find it baffling that Kyle was able to defeat Jerec even after he was imbued with the power of many Jedis. I know gameplay factor had alot to do with this but perhaps there's a canon explanation of how Kyle Katarn overcame the supposedly "invincible" Sith that I'm not aware of.

Painted over a year and a half ago, this was my first Mara Jade piece for FFG's Star Wars games. It actually appeared in the Beta book for those few who were able to grab one, but now with the Balance of the Force expansion she's finally in the LCG. I still remember reading the Thrawn trilogy when they came out, and she's been one of my favorite characters ever since.

One of the first reveals from Fantasy Flight Games' new Star Wars roleplaying game (Edge of the Empire), this is one of the character design/ chapter plates. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what her name is at that point, but if anyone has read it and wants to fill me in go right ahead!

Star Wars was my biggest obsession as a kid, and being able to design characters for the RPG means my life has peaked far too early.

I need all the support I can get on this project. All you great fans on DA have been asking for me expand on the Rangers setting for years, this is it here, now is the time. Pledge what you can and share it on your facebook or in a DA journal. The more funding we raise the bigger the book will be.

Thanks to everyone for their support so far, lets keep on pushing to the end.

"At the end of Vaygr War, the Hiigarans discovered Sajuuk, a legendary Progenitor starship sealed away in the Balcora black hole cluster at the center of the galaxy. After defeating Makaan, the Hiigarans abandoned the Pride of Hiigara so as to unite the Three Hyperspace Cores and awaken Sajuuk.
Sajuuk was found to be also the only ship that can destroy the Planet Killers sent by Makaan during the Siege of Hiigara, via its Main Cannon.
After Vaygr War Sajuuk was found also to be a key, just like the Progenitor Dreadnaught was a key to Balcora Gate. Hiigarans discovered Eye of Aarran and later on found that it can be opened using Sajuuk. The discovery was more than anyone could expect. Sajuuk was found to open the Great Network of Hyperspace Gates"

Another livestream semi-speed paint. Tried out the flagship again, not perfect yet, I'll have to 3D model it to get it right. Should I spend another sitting on this to get a fleet in there?

The command flagship for the Protectorate fleet.
-It's dual hull design aids in redundancy should it ever be found in heavy fighting. The lower hull is largely filled out by a massive staging hangar for defensive ships and a sizable ground force.
The upper hull houses the majority of the crew, who's accommodations are considered lavish for a space vessel, this for the large number of officers often on board.
-The ship is also equipped with extensive processing and maintenance facilities, it can support it's crew and provide extensive repair capabilities for local forces when planet based facilities are not available.
-4 main rail guns along it's 2 noses are it's main anti warship armament. These can fire a variety of munitions, guided or not, at firing rates up to high enough that more than one round can be moving down a rail at once, if needed.
-Warships all carry a common tech shielding that disperses energy weapons, this is why most ships use projectile weapons. Should an enemy ships shielding be disrupted, this flagship contains a laser generation system. 2 focusing turrets, one top and bottom, can fire on vulnerable ships to quickly destroy them.
-12 massive turrets each with 2 guns play a pivotal role in laying down spread fire on distant or closing ships, this ensures a much higher hit probability against evasion maneuvering.
-Numerous point defenses guard against small ships and fighters, some medium sized defense weapons can also join in the spread fire patterns against targets.
-Due to it's massive size, it is unable to make effective evasive maneuvers against enemy fire except in very long range engagement from glancing shots. Thanks to the Elemental program however, along with basic energy weapon shielding, this ship also uses forcive shields to deflect projectile weapons when possible. It's onboard ground forces will often include a number of Elementals which can join in on defensive actions.
-For all it's abilities as a warship, such a large investment in a single ship would lead it to be a prime target in war, so it largely spends it's time in friendly territory making use of it's command and combat staging power.

This is one of my favorite pieces from the Galactic Civil War era. This battle, which took place after the destruction of the first Death Star but before the events of Empire Strikes Back, was an elaborate ambush set by Vader and the Empire to destroy the Alliance leadership along with its fleet. Under overwhelming odds the Rebels would've fled to a designated location where they would regroup, but had they done that they would have found another Imperial fleet waiting for them. The fleet instead dispersed and made random jumps to avoid being completely annihilated. The Alliance almost lost the entire fleet from this battle but enough survived to carry on the fight and eventually make a comeback at the Battle of Endor.

This battle is recounted in the Star War comic "Rebellion: My Brother, My Enemy".

Grand Admiral Thrawn has finally wormed his way into the LCG, and I was actually working on this illustration when the whole "Legends" thing happened to the Star Wars universe. At first I thought maybe it would just get cut from the game or something, but apparently we were right on the cusp and he got in. I definitely feel lucky for being able to slide head first under that door right before it closed, the Thrawn books we some of my favorites as a kid,

Well, Fantasy Flight's Star Wars RPG is now moving into Age of Rebellion territory. Where edge of the Empire focused on characters existing on the periphery of the war, the new books will shift to military forces. Here's a newer piece from the upcoming Onslaught on Arda adventure ( http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4921 ), which I'm pretty sure is the first supplement for the AoR line.

My first deckplan commission! This was done for ~BaronSaber of his (heavily) modified YT-1300, The Saracen Saber.

I had a rough plan to work with on this, so the layout was already envisioned - I just made sure that it follows standard design elements featured in the stock YT-1300 to make for a more convincing deckplan. The kind Baron was very supportive all the way through the plan's creation, keying me into exactly what was required and why! I hope he enjoys it as much as I did making it!

There was a design topic for alternative versions of Leia's infamous slave girl costume, and my idea was that a space gangster's slave girl's costume would be no costume at all. And Leia is in this case played by Olivia Munn rather than Carrie Fisher. :)

Well, here's my half of the art trade with *kitsunedajfox [link]

She did this great pic of Havershaw for me: [link]
And so, I drew her Jedi character, who somehow managed to end up in the future on the Death Star, thanks to Jango Fett's dodgy summer break offers. I hear it's the top holiday destination this season. Darth Vader is either A) Blind. Or B) he knows she's there and is sending the little shoebox on wheels around the corner to trip her up whilst doing his nonchalant walk.
Here's Kitsu's original character design: [link]

So yeah! Turned out not to shabby in the end! I hope Kitsune likes it. ^___^ If people are interested, I put together a tutorial detailing the process from start to finish on this piece!

Now off to Sheffield Anime! It's almost time for this week's Outlaw Star, and I still haven't really got out of bed yet...

So, here's the poster for my animated TIE Fighter short film.
The film is here, by the way: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN_CP4…

I always loved those really classy oil/acrylic-painted movie posters by folks like Drew Struzan, with all kinds of stuff going on in the background for you to spend ages dissecting with your eyes. You know the ones. So I wanted to try something like that, except in the cel-shaded style of the short film.

The results are nowhere near the original Star Wars movie poster level of quality or composition, but I guess it does the job.

EDIT - Some folks are asking for prints of this poster, so I upped the size. You can just download the fullsize image, print it yourselves and save a bit of cash.

This scene is from The Courtship Of Princess Leia and it is the first proper depiction of Teneniel Djo, witch of Dathomir and future Queen Mother of the Hapes Consortium. Luke Skywalker, who was checking out the wreckage of the Chu'unthor, is caught off guard by her sudden appearance and barely dodges a kick to the face. This is totally an unfair match-up but Miss Djo has no clue who she's dealing with.

For those who don't know there is actually an existing depiction of Teneniel Djo but it is a black and white sketch done back in the 90s. The publisher felt it was not reflective of how she's described in the books and so we gave her a little update and sexed her up just a wee bit so this result of it.
