Guys, Im so good at titles XD

Anyways, I got back some more new Aria pictures! Forever screaming! This has got to be one of my all time favorite pictures of myself, in any cosplay!! :iconxinstrumental: Just worked magic with the lighting, and really was able to transform the Orange County Convention Center into Afterlife ;) Just, AH! I'm always at a loss for words with how proud I am how this all came out, I still kinda can't believe I did it. ^^;

IT'S DONE. This thing gave me so much trouble, specifically that silly buckle, if only because I don't have a lot of power tools and sculpting ability at my disposal.

That said, I am actually pretty happy with this ^^ My fav part has to be that weird water bottle pouch thing. Since it was in no way going to be functional, I only needed to concentrate on making it look nice.

The belts are 7/8oz vegetable tanned leather, the pouches are deertanned cowhide with a bit of antique gel applied to darken it up a bit. The buckles are a wood base with paperclay pyramids and the main belt is adjustable.

I completely forgot to upload this! I've made a bit more progress since this picture, but I like this picture better.

This is the default rogue armor from Dragon Age 2, at the begining of the game in Lothering, being constructed for the lovely Brooke for whom I've made some leathery things in the past.

All the leather is 5/6oz vegetable tanned that's been dyed/painted (the silver part), sealed, burnished and put together with a million rivets and snaps

Up next is to finish the pauldrons, then make the wide overbelt, then the armor for all the limbs.

Flemeth, version 2!

I did my first version based on the concept art. Now that the game is out, I added and changed up a lot on her. Belts, armor details, makeup, pants, made the headpiece fit better, ect ect.

Oh Flemeth...she's the hottest murderous old dragon bitch out there. I love her so much.

Some pics of the concept art version:

I know I need to get way more photos uploaded, but I figured you guys would enjoy seeing this one the most. The only Photoshopping is the book - it was originally Archaeology for Dummies. Otherwise, this photo was done by the irreplaceable Gordon Fong at my workplace, Rio Salado College. They allowed me to bring in my costume and we proceeded to do an incredibly fun photo shoot throughout the building!

Garrus is my handmade costume, with a latex mask (reinforced so it doesn't have that wobbly effect like Halloween masks do), moving jaw, foam armor, and LED lighting throughout. He's still about 95% finished, as there are a few adjustments I have yet to make. I've got a couple of work-in-progress blog posts up on the Red Nebula Studios website, and will continue to add more as time goes on.

Flemeth, version 2!

I did my first version based on the concept art. Now that the game is out, I added and changed up a lot on her. Belts, armor details, makeup, pants, made the headpiece fit better, ect ect. Oh, yes, I used the staff in a few pictures of the game version of this, even though it's really only shown in the concept art and not the game. And that's because I loved that staff, and felt like it! ;p

Oh Flemeth...she's the hottest murderous old dragon bitch out there. I love her so much.

Some pics of the concept art version:

EDIT: If anyone wants to see a video of this costume (and Flemeth doing a horrible dance!), we made a short one for Bioware's costume contest! [link]

Thank you everyone who has been clicking this as a favorite! I wanted to thank every individual person, but I am getting so overwhelmed and it is taking away my costume time if I keep replying to every single person hahaha. So, THANK YOOOUU

Finding photos of my Flemeth costume at Acen2011 was...well, there are like 3 and all of them are blurry :( So..if anyone finds photos please let me know ;-; I was super sick that day and was really hoping I could depend on the internet for photos.

I did decide to stop waiting and slip the costume back on and take some photos. :iconmrbob0822: is awesome and photoshopped the picture so I didn't look so lame! He is the Champion of Photoshop. The Hero of Editing.

The original photo is here, kind of. [link] I cropped it because there is a small opening in the top where I didn't put a hook and eye latch :x But you can see the changes he made. MAGIC!

The wig is by :iconscore6:. I love it! If you are looking for someone to commission crazy wigs, look him up. Great guy. :D
Costume is mine. Flemeth belongs to Bioware, but no mortal.

:iconmrbob0822: :iconkemporer: and I were also in a fan video! Thats...really the best place to see a full body shot of my costume :( [link]

First, I want to thank :icondalach: for the inspiration to do this Lara Croft handstand, I love that pose and it was fun doing it:) Reference pic:[link]
I maybe will do another picture like this, because I noticed afterwards that the picture wasn't taken straight from the side and my plait covered my face, but nevertheless, I hope you like it:)
Photographer: my friend

The outfit was inspired by Lara Croft's in Tomb Raider Anniversary with a mix of some of my fav traits of her outfits :3 This is one of my first pics of my proper Lara outfit, the top was ok for a first modified one and the boots, well amazing brown boots were still being looked for! :D

Sooo, two jobs and other things in life have kept me really busy but I did find some time for a little surprise:)
In short, I love crofting like you know and in photoshoots my siblings like photographing everything:D Though very few of those pics get uploaded:XD: but since I like collages, I thought I could share some of these never-before-seen pics in a collage:D
From right to the left and then next "row":
1. I have always wanted to do this and the castle ruins were cool for that!
2.This reminded me of that Tomb Raider movie scene where Lara gets ready and there was just smth amazing in it, it does feel amazing to put the holsters and everything on:)
3.More crofting:D The sun was nicely here:)
4.Moving carefully forward makes you feel so Lara:love:
5.Some posing:D
6.I got so inspired by this amazing pic [link] but since I did the pose by heart it turned out a bit different but hope you like it still:)
7.There's this action figure of Lara doing that and I soo wanted to do it too since I saw it:la: But I think I'll redo it some time, it turned out not so sharp, so a bigger one won't look good.

Photographer in all pics: my sis

My friend commissioned this gown as a birthday gift for his fiancé (who is also my friend Raiya Corsiglia - Director)! I'm pretty sure this is the most fabric Firefly Path as ever used in a costume, over 50 yards of fabric! When designing this costume I wanted to make a realistic version of the Disney Belle. I used gold fabrics and yellow as an accent color. The motif of roses are repeated throughout the gown in the center of the corset with rose patten brocade to the rose clusters at the edge of the overskirt. When I think of Disney's Belle Gown there are two details that first come to mind.. the ruched skirt and her sleeve swags. I put a twist on these two iconic elements by making a hi-low ruched skirt over a full skirt and made her single swag sleeve into a double swag with a pendent in the middle. <3

So I had wondered what a pistol would have looked like, had Nikola Tesla felt the need to carry a sidearm...maybe he did, but hell if I'm putting research into this description. It's a painted toy gun after all, so not much reality going down here. I hope you guys like it, it was a commission where the collector wanted something electrical going on. I felt this was a good balance of "cool looking bits" and "these cool looking bits are getting broken off.." I hope it's a good mix.

The piece on the side is a thread spool with a nickle sandwiched between the spool and a button I found on the ground a few weeks ago.

I'll post a a few more photos of the other side, etc.. check my main page if you get a chance, thank you :)

:heart:There is a lot of info on the image above, DOWNLOAD for fullsize (IMAGE IS BIGGGG)

My BLU Medigun costume prop - as on model as I could make it. I went for every detail of look for accuracy while keeping it light and strong. It lights up, the top handle can pivot, it's sturdy, and it's completely collapsible. Final weight only 4.3 pounds.

...

It's made mostly of pink insulation high density foam, wood, and cardboard. The main body is gorilla-glued sandwiched pink foam, cut on bandsaw then sanded, and then paper mache`d The wooden side discs (which support the weight of the top handle) were gorilla glued on (BEFORE I paper mache`d), and the central hole was drilled. The handle pivots on a all thread piece which is held in by big nuts.

The barrel is a thick cardboard tube (like the kind fabric rolls come on, I got it out of the garbage). I only used plastic piping for the back part where the hose press fits into, and the screw step down on the barrel end where the wooden handle embeds up into. Plastic piping is HEAVY - don't use it for the barrel.

The accents to the barrel are made with styrofoam or pink foam and are painted with acrylics. It can even stand up on the front of the barrel, and balance on it's nose :) Makes it good for putting it down while standing up and adjusting gloves or something.

The 'messy' wires (from the design of the actual gun model in game) and the switch are real - that is the switch that controls the on/off for the light! So it's on model AND functional! :D The light is a single diode up-light at the back of the barrel. The color comes from some blue cellophane stuffed in the barrel. It even makes a decent flashlight at night!

It is also collapsible for transit - the top handle can unscrew at the big bolts and come off (there is an all thread bolt through the middle) and the barrel can unscrew on that electrical piping used there.

Though I've done lots of cheating with wefts/excess fibers and glue before, I'd like to thank :iconxhee-heex: for inspiring the idea to do this with hairlines. Alright, Grunt is finally done! I'm posting pics of his finished face here, but first a FEW THINGS ABOUT ANIMATRONICS!

Grunt's face is going to be animated with a mechanism underneath the foam latex skin to create life-like movement! He's going to have an eye blink, a lip movement, a pupeteered mouth, and an eyebrow movement. All of these use little motor things called servos, that are programmed and hooked up to a battery.

THIS is why Grunt looks SLEEPY! No, I'm not making cute!grunt with squishy eyes, even though that would be awesome. When you sculpt an animatronic head, it needs to be in the neutral position. This means everything has to be as if you've decided to be super lazy and let your mouth sort of slack and your eyes droop. When he's cast up in foam latex, it'll be really easy to just lift his skin eyelid up and make him look awake again and not drunk. Also, those pink pieces are sculpy plates that I made. Those center plates will be made out of plastic so that Tank can see out of the mask. Hooray!

I know - this is not a real armor. This is obviously armor STYLED item. Fabric, sewn - I informed it can't stop swords, no need to explain that on every step, it's annoying =/ Also I didn't enabled critique request. Consider this please.

I have received few comments to my Custom order cuff ([link] - how it would look like as a dress. Well, actually I have an outfit I made for WGT 2013, using that same fabric as for cuff.
Top part - it's a restyled very cheap corset (I've published before and after pictures before), bottom part - made of turquoise taffeta fabric, hand painted (toned).
Armor sleeve and collar are made in that same color/style.
Outfit s not for sale.
