The main plot of the episode revolves around Twilight after finding out that her best friends have had their cutie marks and destinies switched around. This stumps Twilight as to finding out why and how this can happen. We get an interesting sing-along that explains how they try to do what their jobs are but they do poorly and say that it's the destiny cause of their cutie mark. Rarity has Rainbow Dash's cutie mark, Rainbow Dash has Fluttershy's, Fluttershy has Pinkie's, Pinkie has Applejack's and Applejack has Rarity's. It's then we find out that before all this, Twilight received a book from Princess Celestia that belonged to Starswirl the Bearded stating that there was a spell he never was able to solve. She casts the spell which indadvertedly cause the cutie marks and destinies of her friends to change. She gets all emo blaming herself but then realizes that
