I uploaded a larger version of Mercury and a Print.

***

It's been a while. From geniuses to artificial curtains to ancient rooms, filled with wires, screens and remainings from past days. This piece has been an itch inside my head, leaving me restless for almost 5 weeks. From now on things will feel different. Right now words fail me. They fall short and are lagging behind the great feeling of finishing something or the uncertainties of days to come. Maybe the guy or girl living in that room together with the cat has these thoughts, too.

thanks alot.

It was about time for another space themed image. My inspiration for this one came from the horsehead nebula. The background changed several times during the working process and only has little elements of the early image. The image can be used as personal PC - screen wallpaper.

Recent Work for Menewsha.

[link]

---

Menewsha is a Community driven avatar based chat site :).

Although some may compare the general idea of our site to be akin to GaiaOnline, Menewsha offers an escape from the trolling spamers and immature sex drive 14 year olds.

Although we of course welcome all ages we encourage maturity and for our members to interact with eachother on the boards :)

This particular piece was created for one of this Months Contribution Items which can easily be purchased for your avatar :).

Menewsha has lots of lovely people and we're working hard to keep moving forward.

thankyou all for checking out my deviation! I had such fun drawing it ^-^

hey everyone,

it's something new and I learned a thing or two (the Asteroids are made in 3ds max this time, but I still had to render it in C4D).
I did everything by myselfe, I didn't use any stocks, except for one satalite photo from NASA for the Planet. Took me quite some time to finish this one, but I am really happy with the outcome.

Programms used:
- Photoshop CS5
- 3ds Max
- Cinema4D
- Apophysis

Tell me what you think! :)

Have a nice day!

:D My second DD! Thats so awesome! Thanks to Shue13 for featuring it!
I am greatfull for all those comments :D thanks everyone, you really made my day!

Hello people!

So here's a picture that I've been working on a lot for the past month. It have been through so many changes, because I had so many visions and ideas for picture. But I finally decided what I was going for and choose to let my other ideas slip for the time being. And with all theses ideas, I will most likely upload a version 2 of this soon.
But anyway, I've done many new things in this that I haven't done before, which made this a very fun piece to make!

Layers: 122
Time: Well, back and forth for a month.
Size: 1920x1080 px (Original 3200x1800)

WOW! I thank you all for the incredible feedback that I have gotten on this piece!!! :omfg: And not to mention the Daily Deviation feature, holy shit! xD

A starry night in Kirkjufell, the Pyramid mountain. A hint of Aurora was in the sky when I took this (4-image, 40+MP) vertical panorama, and the perfectly-clear milky way appeared to engage in some sort of mystical dance with the mountain and the lagoon surrounding it, reflecting the stars.

Hi !

This is another attempt at Matte painting.
Didn't have much time for that one so I had to keep some parts a bit sketchy to be able to submit it for a contest.

The idea behind this is basically overpopulation in paris, as well as disparity among social classes.
People would build towns on lakes in paris, while the Eiffel tower would be surrounded by huge buildings ( where the rich live basically ! ).

This image isn't really supposed to be set at the trocadero ( near the eiffel tower) for the contest, but since I had to place the Eiffel tower in it and well, it's at the trocadero, I thought I'd name it like this here.

I was inspired by, 'Hawken' , 'Adrift' as far as games are concerned, and Andree Wallin / Dylan cole regarding artists.

Check them out if you havn't !

Hope you'll like it :) Now let's cross fingers for the contest ! :)

Edit: Wow a DD ! Really ? You guys are awesome ! ^^
I really want to thank :iconalltheoriginalnames: for featuring it, it's much appreciated.

Also, there's now a tutorial of this artwork here, check it out ! :

The captain of the guard and royal bodyguard of some random sci-fi king. You know what I'm talking about. My entry for Conceptart.orgs latest ChOW once again.

Way cool description:

Captain Anatolios Pertinax held the title of Praefectus in the Praetorian Guard and thus had close relations with the King. He was a brutally honest man, and that is probably why he liked to personally approach deserters and line-breakers. It was something he called "Decimation", a punishment, an example being made. But in retrospect I believe that it was only for his own sadistic outlet. There were whispers of assassination among the guard. The target was their own Patron and king, and Anatolios could not allow it. He in turn, assassinated all of the centurions, one by one.

The deal was supposed to go off without a hitch, the shipping schedule had been easy enough to remove from under the Hutt's nose and all he had to do was deliver it to Montross' goons in the Jundland Wastes. The young would-be smuggler swore at himself for not bringing back-up to the meeting. Maybe someday he would have to get himself a partner, someone big and intimidating... like a Wookiee!

Completed in the closing decade of the 21st century, the Star of Arabia was a joint project of the Arab League and conceived as the most exclusive and technologically advanced tourist destination in the world.

Construction was handled primarily by Chinese and private US contractors, who had access to the heavy lift vehicles necessary to carry the vast components into low orbit. Once built, the internal nuclear power systems were installed to circumvent the need for aesthetically unsightly solar arrays.

This artwork was commissioned by Australian Geographic and featured in their July/August edition.

This image is a part of the Birrin project, the species seen here: abiogenisis.deviantart.com/art…

Born in an age of exceptional technological complexity and profligate resource exploitation, Spear was the first birrin attempt to send a vehicle of any kind to another solar system. Powered by nuclear fusion and cooled by banks of enormous radiators, the intelligent and self-sufficient machine even now represents the most costly and complex undertaking of any birrin age.

The extraordinary expense of the vehicle’s development was shouldered by a multi-national interhouse consortium so extensive that organisations from every continent found themselves contributing. Components were shipped and flown from all over the world to the equator, from where thunderous nuclear rockets catapulted them into orbit.

After half a century Spear, finally complete, undertook a long range shakedown tour of the solar system, flying deep into the realm of the outer planets.

As it slowly returned in-system, however, the scale of the exponentially ascending birrin civilisation began to terminally overtax the planet. Crop failures, famines and coastal flooding lead to regional wars and ethnic cleansing on a scale never before seen, and what little food remained was sequestered by the most able houses.

Meanwhile Spear, all this time arcing closer to home, was supposed to be captured, fueled, and sent on its mission to a nearby star.  As the recovery team prepared to leave orbit, a coalition of minor houses left starving by the major powers launched a salvo of warheads. Bursting into clouds of metal spheres, they tore through the delicate vehicles and their crews at orbital speeds. As Spear fell past uncaptured, the response by the wealthy stakeholders was swift: Invading with full force, the punitive occupation quickly became culling, and birrin society rapidly degenerated into a war so total civilisation would not recover to a semblance of its former complexity for over a thousand years.

Through all this, Spear, pocked by minor impacts and long silent, swung through space in its vast and ever changing ellipse.

Now, with the dawn of a new era of birrin civilisation, Spear is returning once more to the inner system. The powers that be will have decide whether it should be refit and sent on its long delayed mission, or simply stripped for the few valuable parts and cast into the sun.

Seen here is the vehicle undergoing low-orbit trials soon after its completion, pre-fall birrin society still burgeoning beneath.

Heya from New York :)

Had to hold this back for a while, finally able to post it.
It was a marketing poster for a little private project called Star Fall by two 3D guys, Louis Boka and Ferdinand Reginensi.
They have websites where they show some of the work for this. Not sure about progress and scope of all this really. I provided some concept art is all. Check it out! Some pretty awesome renders there.

This is also my humble entry to Ballistic Exposé 10. Btw you can join me on CGsociety and CGtalk @ [link] , I would be glad to have you in my network over there too...

This is another terrain I designed with Vue 9, spaceships modelled with 3DSmax, and all postwork done in Photoshop CS3 to make everything more lively, realistic and full of details.

No hidden Jedi this time guys, dont waste your time ah ah but quite a lot of little things, lights and stuff here and there.

I had lots of fun doing it and should pass onto something different next time!!

There comes a time in every concept artist's life, where he/she must create an epic scifi city with ridiculously large monolithic buildings and an overall sense of cliché. Despite my persistent avoidance, that time has come for me today...... :surrender:

Run to the cities of the future, take what we can and bring it back home.
