I feel extremely lucky to have had this experience. The opportunity was intimidating, but came with many comforts making this journey manageable for someone who never considered themselves a leader. Running this group has been a historical eye-opener, but I'm confident, for the most part, there were surprising benefits to be had by all. Achievements were nothing without the help of SOB's chief staff of editors. The many hats it took to keep this project functional consisted of, but were not limited to:
personable professionalism, collaborative management, diplomacy, scouting & canvassing, delegation, effective public speaking and a sincere dedication to the sensitivities of the artistic, thinking majority. The goal of every day came down to adhering to the group's boundaries while balancing every move upon empathic fairness, appropriate tones, and personalized encouragements.
