This was a birthday present for my dear and lovely friend :iconditched: :aww: She's had some rough times this past year and this was what I wanted her to have the most: a tiny Snape in her pocket to brew her helpful potions whenever she needs them.

It was the very first time I tried out this somewhat-3D-papercraft stuff and it didn't turn out exactly as I imagined, but I still like it and will definitely make more in the future!

Hello my friends~ Long time no see
How To Train Your Dragon anyone? (cuz I'm kinda... obsessed?) Yes?  So here I am with a new plushie. Deadly Nadder from HTTYD movies~ This cutie was a gift for my best friend. I was thinking about making Night Fury plushie, but there are so many of these... literally everywhere.. so... Yeah... I chose Deadly Nadder, because Nadders are lovely and colourful. I'm definitely going to make more HTTYD plushies.

My friend called him Łamignat (eng. Bonebreaker) XD
Bonebreaker is 12"|31 cm tall (8,5"|22 cm when he sits) and with tail - about 20"|50 cm long.

Smaug Custom Plush for :iconnitefyredragon:

MORE PICS
sta.sh/21ppbqhpt6g6

:bulletyellow:  Smaug is made from crimson minky. He is 29" tall to the crest of his neck.

Process
Where to start...
His entire body has been meticulously airbrushed using several hand made stencils. His head was sculpted entirely out of foam and then a minky 'sleeve' was fashioned to sit over the foam 'muscle' (the only way I could keep those specific muscle groups visible).

His eyes were casted with resin and the eye design was drawn in photoshop and glued to the back of the eye. Being resin cast his pupil has a 'follow me' effect so it always looks like he is staring at you. Orange LEDs were cast into the eyes, with a grand total of 17 orange LEDs wired into his eyes, mouth and chest that run from 2 battery packs hidden in internal pockets.

His teeth were all sculpted from translucent sculpey clay, embedded into clay 'gums' and glued into his jaw.

His body is held up by pvc piping that runs through his wings and back (the only thing strong enough to hold him). He has wire in his neck and wings for added support.

His chest and neck were given the translucent scale effect by using a soldering iron to singe through the minky. I then reverse applique'd sparkling angelina fibers to fill the holes but leave them transparent so the leds would be visible. Several locations on his body were scarred using very precise shallow burns in the minky, again using the soldering iron (primarily his face, neck and back).

Please do not ask for the pattern, under no circumstance will I be giving it out. (I couldn't even if I wanted to due to the way I made him)

Comments
:bulletyellow: Oh man.. this plush broke me. Never has a plush made me want to tear my hair out so much XD. I am SO proud of him, and on the same page SO thankful he is done. Every element that could be complex with this plush was at the limits of my abilities. I had to push myself with every aspect. I hope you all love the result as much as I do.

PLEASE zoom in to check out his details!

One of the pencil illustrations I recently made in Tenerife, Spain. You can view the sketch in progress here. I also wrote the text in the drawing, which is saying:

"Dear friend, I'm writing to tell you that I recently discovered a sunny island called Tenerife. A rocky island that only exists thanks to Teide, a huge volcano. This is a beautiful black sand island surrounded by deep blue seas. A unique place that attracts curious people, lovers and families from everywhere around the world, thanks to its perfect climate and thanks to all the facilities it offers to millions of visitors every year.

This is an island people usually visit to relax but you can also find many secret treasures. This magic place welcomes the people willing to recharge their batteries but also the wild adventurers who prefer to live intense moments and admire Mother Nature from a different perspective. There are small traditional villages everywhere in Tenerife. There are also big cities with futuristic buildings and monuments where the local workers meet the people who party all night...

If you travel there, you might have the great chance to walk in the mountains or in the forests, to enjoy the sun and the beaches, to swim with dolphins or even turtles, to do some surf or any other aquatic sports, to eat some typical food or drink local wines, to meet friendly people, to find countless hidden treasures, to party all night with good people and with good music...

Whatever you decide to do in Tenerife and whatever happens to you during your trip, you will not be the same person anymore upon your return. This island will give you so much energy and good vibrations that you might choose to move there permanently, bring your whole family and start living a new life, a better life... And when you will have seen everything, if you ever manage to do so, then you might consider discovering the other Canary Islands, all of them are connected by regular domestic flights or by ferry.

El Hierro is the smallest of the 7 major islands. Fuerteventura is the most ancient Island and the most eroded one. Gran Canaria offers amazing landscapes and is famous for its dunes. La Gomera is also one of the oldest islands of the archipelago. Lanzarote is known for its special colors and architecture highly influenced by Cesar Manrique. La Palma is an entire biosphere and the second highest island of the Canaries... Dear Traveller, all I'm saying is that it is worth visiting Tenerife. This is why I am sitting here in this sketch!"

Woke up at 2am to drive hours south to a place I've never been before for a sunrise. No clouds, but not necessary given the beautiful scenery and reflection in the calm water. Apparently, a big fishing spot - as soon as the sun rose, I was surrounded by fisherman and boats. The smell of gas fumes were overwhelming and enough for me to pickup and leave to my next destination.

The Apocalypse

Standing on the side of a dirt road with =Glitch-Chaos shooting these Sunflowers, and waiting to either be struck by Lightning or see a Tornado drop at any second. A scene reminding me of Heaven battling Hell, for domination (hence the title) It is hard to describe what it was like standing here, because I simply can not find the words.

I hope you all like it
John

________
2050 nuclear energy activity risks report:

-Analyst: We know that sooner or later a reactor is going to blow within the next 5 years, it's a matter of probability based on past history and the conditions of old power plants, some reaching now 90 years of age. Minimum casualties are esteemed to be 200 000 people killed instantly, highest casualties would be 23 million instant deaths. Long-term casualties are still being determined. First conclusion of the report is that all reactors reaching above level 3 risk should be in a shutting down process, which means shutting down 6 nuclear power plants for your company.
End of report.
-CEO1: Thank you, that'll be all. (to his colleagues). So what do you think? Should we shut down 6 of our reactors?
- CEO2: We can't, global economy impact would be catastrophic, those reactors represent 91 billion dollars of electricity per year.
-CEO3: Then we must ask for help from the governments.
-CEO4: Impossible, they're too much indebted to do anything.
-CEO3: What then? We can't allow a cataclysmic devastation, It would create a considerable economic impact as well.
-CEO4: But not for us.
- CEO2: I propose we shut down one or two of the less profitable reactors just for the company's image and we silence everyone else that has heard about the report. It would keep us safe from any scandal and economic disaster.
-CEO1: It sounds acceptable.
-CEO4: I agree.
-CEO3: What about the human casualties? We can't accept that!
- CEO2: Since when was that a direct concern for us?

________

A little anecdote to show how power and money can destroy men's hearts. The image is in no way related to what a nuclear accident from a reactor would look like as they cannot explode in a mushroom cloud.

I thought of that when the news started spreading information about the nuclear power plants disasters in Japan: why did they ever build nuclear power plants in a highly seismic area?
