The complexity of body/face paintFirst, I have to thank GeekGirls http://geekxgirls.com/article.php?ID=702 for featuring another one of my shoots, and for standing up for the cosplayer for costume malfunctions. The shoot they posted is actually a combo of 2 photo shoots during a time period where body paint was NOT my friend. The first time my face was melting. Literally. Despite all of the powder and setting, it just would not stay on. I was out of the make-up after about 3 hours of wear, and without any backup clothes with me and bumming a ride from a friend, I couldn't leave and change. So I dealt with it. I may not have had as many photos taken, but a lot of people appreciated the work and detail I had placed into the costume.More Like This
The second shoot was equally as painful. I tried a new body/face paint and it was cracking. Constantly…horribly. I re-applied it 3 times that day, rubbing the latex blending of my face and bald cap completely raw. It was worth it in the end to get the glorious photo shoot, but it gave
