It has long been said that there are seven trials in which people must attempt to pass after death. These trials, called the seven legacies, determine fate after death. Not only do they do such, they get consecutively harder. The first trial, which many are able to successfully pass, is like the dim candle of a birthday cake being held against a massive forest fire when compared to the last. Most people cannot even see the gate to the final legacy, let alone the fifth, as they die before they can get that far. Death within the seven legacies is how fate is decided. Depending on the point where one dies, one of eight various afterlives will await.
