One More Day Of A False Spring, It Would SeemMore Like This
Last night, as I withdrew
from the plastic souvenir, ("freedom, wasted light!")
I realized the orphan had run off again
and I wondered where I would find him (this time)
if I should debate another sunrise.
It's not even love's opposite:
I need your porcelain jewelry
gleaming from the half maw
dancing in your dahlia
and the honeycomb of endings which haven't come, yet.
Right of Left1.More Like This
The city blots out as you fall asleep,
Letting those Rorschach butterflies swallow you in.
I stare at the familiar cream ceilings
With clean and soulless, open lids -
Sleepless in my bed,
In my own conscious animation cell,
Starkly separated from your internal trajectories.
Thoughts of you bleed in to my mind-tank,
They stain and etch themselves in
By way of sci-fi hyphenated paranormal processes and
Ever-morphing convertible mediums,
And I'm left with a sense of dissatisfaction for the
Lack of simplicity and the general tension of competitiveness,
Dulling this tapestry's design.
It's all gypsy tricks and trembling lights with you,
But while you slept, the clocks grew feet and time skipped like with UFO abductions,
And while you slept, the mannequins came to life
And the moon opened her sad blue eyes,
Coughed up some magic crystals and chalky dust
Which melted in the night,
Dissolving like aspirin and sprinkled like sugar over the cereal
Of your slushy dreams.
