Gundam EX-S done in the same TRON fashion (as previously noted; same techniques from TRON Legacy) Happy that ALL the effects were generated within MAYA using VRAY requiring zero touch-ups (go me). I was worried the lens flare generated might come off too cheesey but, I feel it works in this piece. Gundam EX-S modeled and rendered using Autodesk MAYA and VRAY 2.0 Logo and lettering Photoshop.
Last of the set of three build fighters. as this show is coming to and end i can be less worried about having my wallet emptied For those of you who aren't familliar, this show is an EXCELLENT piece of marketing that is designed to sell model kits... and does..... very successfully XD
I created this almost 6 years ago and barely remember what I did or how I did it, but it's showing its age. What I do remember is that I used the ideas in the Master Grade Hi-Nu Gundam model kit while also espousing ideas present in the version of the Hi-Nu created for the *Vicious Project* of resin kits tailored to modify the Master Grade. That particular kit made changes to the size of the legs as well as the rest of the body to more closely conform to the older Izubuchi illustrative style of the Hi-NU. The end result was a mish-mash that I enjoyed creating at the time. I used this image as part of the header I had on my old blog, which has languished in the past year.
I'm hoping to get back into this, but I always say that...
I've been getting questions on "where I got my avatar" (like I bought it at the grocery store or something). I don't want to post the original (or enlarge it) because I wanted to put it in an art book so I'm posting this earlier version which is -WOW already over a year old!! Don't mind the pose. I was just getting used to all of the rigging that had to be done to control all of the parts of the machine. Lots of errors here as I wasn't quite finished building it yet, but basically you can see where it came from.
With the oncoming threat of the colonies losing all right to existence, Char Aznable ordered the production of updated designs of the original mobile suits that marked the end of the atomic age and the beginning of the Mobile Suit age. The zaku IV was not one to be left out. The new design follows the original to an amazing degree, but features some of the more advanced technology that can be found. Not a single unit has been lost in combat thus-far.
I have a fascination with strong women characters as you can tell, but I think it is more the stark contrast between hard and organic surfaces that attracts me more. My husband mains Samus and Little Mac in the new Smash so it was only fitting I fit her into my schedule
This is a commission for a scene from the end of Final Fantasy X, where Yu Yevon begins searching for a new host after you've defeated Sin and you're forced to kill off your Aeons one by one. I thought that was a very poignant moment. Once he depletes them, he's pretty weak himself. It's an interesting concept really.
I chose what I thought were the three most "glorified" aeons of that game. Valefor was of course close to Yuna, Shiva was considered one of the more useful by many due to her speed and power next to Bahamut (and always a fan favorite for...obvious reasons), and Bahamut was the main destructive force. The details on Bahamut's wings...Ugh. Also the same could be said honestly for Shiva's hair.
Shiva is currently summoned, while Bahamut is being taken over by Yu Yevon. Valefor has just been defeated and is disappearing.
Yes the other optional aeons are stronger, but since they're not-relevant to the story, they were excluded.
Darkfall ZERO. Finally got the right brush I created in Photoshop. Duration: 5 hours. Customized brushes I did in Photoshop. Lighting: Main light, rim light, etc... in Photoshop (I used also Lighting Effects from Filter). Add noise. Done.
I made this model to practice hard surface modeling.I only used Zbrush. I will texture and paint it maybe rig and animate it for animation practice , in the near future.I had allot of fun working on this project.I hope you like it.Tips are always welcome.

NEW TECHNIQUES TEXTURES!!! [Filter > sketch > Halftone pattern] I applied the halftone dots pattern on the the character's shadow (like the manga dots used to make shadows). I set my background to black and foreground color to teal to get those 2 colors.
BACKGROUND: I made the background using "Google SketchUp 8." It's a program for designers and engineers to make 3D models of buildings so that they can upload it to google map. I'll try to have a tutorial up.. when I dont have 7 midterms and exams bombarding me every week... oh the joys of school.... I was exposed to this because some friends in 3D game design field were messing around with this simple program and told me to check it out because even people with "no 3D modeling skills can figure it out." ___
