After a long time I finally had some ideas for a new render in my "Jazz in THE City" series (you can find the other renders here: [link] ). Here we can see her and her friends grabbing a quick snack at one of the food scooters on level 34 before heading up to one of the dance clubs at the top levels. It is a bit after midnight and Jazz has tonight off from her jobs. After relaxing and sleeping for most of the day she is now looking forward to hang out with Callie and Alina.
The characters were set up in Poser Pro 2012 ans in DAZ Studio 4.5. The scene was built, lighted and rendered in Vue 11.5 Infinite.

I find close-up portraits to be one of the most difficult type of 3D images to pull off convincingly. Not just in Vue but in all rendering programs. Here is a recent attempt where I tried to do a fairly close-up portrait of my character Jazz. I imported the posed OBJ from DAZ Studio and then redid all materials and set up the lighting in Vue 8 Infinite.
Probably not spectacular, but overall I was pretty happy with the result and decided to show here anyway.

Hey this is fun. I had to do one more. Here is a quick VR Flash version of a Dystopia city scape. Set up as an eco-system of city blocks in Vue 9 Infinite and rendered as six 1500*1500 images (~20 min per image) which were subsequently assembled into a Flash VR with Pano2Vr (Gardengnome Software).

You can pan and zoom using the mouse or on screen controls.

Now I need to get back to the next image in my "Did you hear that?" series...

Death is an angel with two faces:
To us he turns
A face of terror, blighting all things fair;
The other burns
With glory of the stars, and love is there.

-Theodore Chickering Williams

Some of you might remember when I submitted this with text, but I decided to resubmit one without the text and offer it as a print.

Flame created with Apophysis.

Edit 4/09/08

Thank you everyone for your continued support and for all of the love you've shown! I hope you will visit my gallery and like what you find there as well!

Unfortunately, too many people have hotlinked to the original text version I had up on my site so I've removed it. Sorry, that's the breaks.

Before I start describing this piece, I would like to pin point some topics.
Since my introduction to Cartoon Network that I've been a huge fan of Craig McCracken, the creator of cartoons such as "Powepuff Girls" and "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends", and after I started watching this last one, I got completely blown away by the "Crayon" effect on the strokes. and above all, the superb chromatic work, among a lot of other awesome features.

The crossover between Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends with Star Wars, came to me while I was watching an episode featuring Bloo Super Dude, and I couldn't stop wondering how it would fit into the whole Star Wars universe, which is also one of my biggest influences growing up.
So, please forgive me for any mistakes on the concept of the characters, it was a long process of sketching and linking of characters from both universes.
Feel free to comment.

To end this description, I would like to thank Mr. Craig McCracken for being a source of inspiration since I first thought of becoming an Illustrator.
Thank you :)

Let's get this party started.

This is the first page of Look Straight Ahead, my graphic novel in progress. It's about a teenage boy who suffers a nervous breakdown in his last year of high school (and eventually recovers). I've completed five issues so far, and am nearly done the sixth! I also just won a Xeric Award to self-publish the whole story as a complete graphic novel! :) :faint:

Read the entire comic so far at this address: [link] and subscribe to the RSS feed, follow me on Tumblr/Twitter/Blogger, or Like me on Facebook to be notified of updates! (I update every Monday and Thursday!) Enjoy! :)

Sooooo I hope this helps out someone, I tell most beginning artists a good place to start is with learning how to convey form and have a good understand the superficial muscle groups. It helped me out a ton

I hope you dig it :)

I've had this ringed planet made for a while. I was using for a commercial project that fell through. Figured I'd place into another scene. I spent most of my time blending some cloud photos together, trying to come up with something striking and believable. I think I did a pretty good job.
